I loved this place! I am usually in the area to visit nearby farms with the kids. I had five picky kids with me and needed to feed them all. We came here and the place didn't disappoint. There was indoor and outdoor seating and beautiful views. They were also very patient with my playful, picky group of children (ages 5-10). I ordered two personal pizzas for them and they ended up finishing one of them. We took one pizza to go. Overall, we paid $80 for 3 adults and 5 kids. Nobody left hungry and we even had leftovers. It is also a nice place to watch a game. A soccer game was on TV while we were there. Overall - we will be back and highly recommended if in the area! I really wanted to like this place, the service (witness was very kind and helpful. The food however seemed like it was heated up and not great. It does have outdoor seating if it's still nice out and it's very easy to get to. Wish I could say it's great but will be looking at other places in the area. I went here with some friends. We grabbed a table in the bar area. There were no servers in the bar area. You had to walk up to the bar, order your drinks and carry them back to your table. The bartender was friendly but I'm not sure why there wasn't a server. All the patrons were friendly also. We did get some food to eat. The menu had many options. For an appetizer we ordered the boneless buffalo wings. They were good except the bartender told us they did not have any more boneless wings and we had to substitute regular wings. We went with the regular wings and they were good. My dinner came with a salad and I ordered the house dressing. The greens were fresh and crisp and the dressing was good. For dinner I ordered the blackened chicken with pasta. It was on the special menu. What impressed me most about the dish was the pasta was cooked perfectly. The dish was much better than I expected. The waitress was attentive and professional but there was no point in her asking us how we wanted our burgers. They came out overcooked and tasteless. We spent 1.5 hours in the place and I did not see the manager speak to his staff once. They all just seem to avoid and not make eye contact. Go for the locals bar, but eat before you go. After spending all day in the nature, visiting beautiful lake, river and parks in the area, we were starving. Officer in the state park recommended Long Valley restaurant and we decided to give it a try. The menu looked promising, it was hard to decide what to order. For appetizer we shared mozzarella sticks, fried calamari and chicken cordon blue bites. We could choose 3 for $8 or $9. Fried calamari were horrible, couldn't eat them, they were far from being fresh. The worst ones I ever tried. Mozzarella sticks and chicken bites were better, but nothing special. Frozen and microwave reheated. For main course I decided to play it safe with All American burger. My husband got pasta with shrimps and scallops. My burger was tasteless. After adding a lot of ketchup, salt and pepper, it was still really bad. I only ate half of it. Pasta with shrimps and scallops- just blah. It seems that they don't have fresh food at all. I bet they use the microwave more then anything else. The service was okay. I wonder if the good reviews are from friends and family. A restaurant should cook freshly made food, not buy frozen food that anyone can just put in a microwave and have it ready to eat in few minutes. read more

This is hands down the place to be in Long Valley. The service is fast and friendly. The menu has endless options for American Italian and even Mexican options. In the bar area in a booth which has a view of Schooleys Mountain (which was the reason we came to Long Valley). Bar had a lot of people and it was late afternoon. My wife had a twisted Mac and cheese on the specials. It has ham and some sort of gouda cheese sauce. It was outrageous! I had the 16 oz Prime Rib which felt like 2lbs when she handed it to me. It was the best cut of beef i have ever had in my life. You could tell this is a process they have perfected over many years and I don't know anywhere else around you can find home cooked comfort food like they have here. The bartender poured a beautiful, perfect, pint of Guinness. We had a Philly cheesesteak with mushrooms. It was made on garlic bread. So good! We also had chilli cheese dogs that were on special. Celebrated Mother's Day a day early with my wife because of our schedules and the Valley did not disappoint. With everything going on, obviously dine in was not an option but our take out meals were very good. They also delivered, which most places don't currently, allowing us to stay home. The service is great, the atmosphere friendly. This place is a legit local hot spot. I can't jump to call it a dive, as has been suggested in prior reviews, though it does emanate that. To me, a dive is a bit crustier on the service and homier on the atmosphere. This bar and restaurant is very townie. The few times I've been here, the bar seating has been fully packed by regulars, and the outdoor smoking area well attended. The drink prices are kind of ridiculously cheap-if you drink during happy hour, or any time at the bar, draft beers (not sure if all of them?) are like under $2 per mug, which I'm estimating is a full 12oz mug. The food. Well the food is mediocre bar food, though still very satisfying if you have that expectation. I think this place is the perfect place to come for a ridiculously cheap and simple bite to eat.
