Where do I begin for Nancy and her team.. I had my wedding this January and I can't believe it is already mid of June!!! I met nancy and her team from our venue's open house and I wanted to discuss about the lighting and other decorations. After few emails and one meeting, I decided to go with this company since they were familiar with our venue and Nancy had many wedding experiences. I ended up booking with her for lighting, decoration, the day of coordinator, and flowers. Pretty much Nancy was doing most of things for my wedding. I will tell you, she has the most reasonable price who does good job!! Please don't expect $million dollars wedding when you are spending few thousands. That won't happen; within my budget, I had the most wonderful decorations and I cannot thank her enough. I can't say enough good things about Glam Event Stylist! Nancy, Mars, and their team did such a wonderful job for my wedding. I just got married in November, and Nancy and Mars did our flowers, decorations, and candy station. They were extremely helpful in the planning process. I wasn't one of those brides that knew exactly what she wanted from the get go, but Nancy was very patient and guided me through picking some great flowers and decorations that fit my and my husband 's personalities and style. And when I wanted to make changes throughout the process, she was always accommodating, and never made me feel like it was an inconvenience. We met several times, and every time we met, I got more and more excited (and it seemed like she did too!). She even threw in several free touches, like personalized candy bags and unique frames for the table numbers. On our wedding day, we didn't have to worry about anything. Mars & Nancy are wonderful! We used book their decorating/styling services as well as their DJ service. Both my husband and I highly HIGHLY recommend them. They're very reasonably priced and do a stellar job! I had a lot of guests ask me about decorations and about the music. Decorating/Styling: Originally I hadn't planned on booking someone for decorating or lights for that matter. In my mind we'd just have friends and family help put up a few trinkets and be done with it. In retrospect, I'm so glad I didn't do that! There's so much that goes in to decorating and that's the last thing the wedding party needs to be worried about. Glam does lighting, decorating, draping, dessert tables, you name it. They did a GORGEOUS job on everything they touched. They did: +The décor on the arch we got married under (chandeliers & draping and they put up giant flowers I made) +The centerpieces, table numbers, and runners on the guest tables (they do flowers!) +A giant chalkboard for seating to unite the families at the ceremony. +All the décor on the sweetheart table (even the fab chairs we were sitting on!) +All the décor on the cake table +A whimsical dessert/candy shelf complete with custom dessert bags and personalized labels +They helped put up all the little decorations we bought in advance and wanted at the wedding (placecards & holders, photo albums, frames, little knickknacks that I had crafted looking at pinterest!). +Lighting! Bistro and paper lanterns and a spectacular gobo that they helped us design +Sparkler exit. Some comments: +Very personable and easy to work with. Nancy & Mars are sweet individuals and that's a must when you're planning and dealing with vendors for your wedding. +Nancy takes your idea and puts together an idea board so you know she gets it. +They are busy just like other wedding vendors so it can take some time for them to get back to you but once the wedding gets closer they are on top of things. +They don't like to share everything they're going to do so there are always a few surprises for the couple. That's either a good or bad thing if you're a control freak +I liked their very thorough itemized receipt BUT if an item you want is not listed there it can be missed. So make sure that everything you want/request is listed on there -They did forget about doing a main seating chart for us. That was the only thing they missed but they reacted quickly with our venue and came up with a seamless solution. -Sometimes they appeared to be a little bit disorganized at the meetings beforehand. It might not bother you but I'm a super organized person so it bothered me. Luckily they exceeded our expectations and really put forth our vision so I was worried for nothing! DJ: We weren't sure who to hire for DJ services and prices range vastly from $1000-$3000. We wanted someone who could play the music we liked and help the flow of the evening while not being too aggressive or overly monopolizing the wedding. You know what I'm talking about, those DJs that make you cringe and insists everyone do the chicken dance. Mars has a lot of experience doing weddings and after we talked to him, we decided to hire him. He did everything perfectly and helped smoothly run the wedding. If I could give zero stars for this company I would! I responded to an ad for 15 uplights and a free monogrammed gobo. I emailed Nancy several times and she seemed very helpful and knowledgeable. I explained that I wanted the gobo to shine on the dance floor and emailed them the image of our monogram. Nancy also met me at the venue and we discussed again exactly what I wanted and she assured me there would be no problem. The day of the wedding, imagine my surprise when I walked in and saw that the gobo was directed onto a wall (even though the entire room was draped with white which made the white gobo design impossible to view...and the fact the we discussed SEVERAL TIMES that it should be pointed to the floor). My mother and wedding planner both attempted to reach Nancy, or someone from the company to no avail. I've sent several emails after the fact and got no response at all (although before their payment was received, they responded quickly to every email). I understand that mistakes happen, but I can not believe that to this day, I've received no response, no apology, no show of remorse for the MAJOR MISTAKE that was made! I've tried calling for months after the fact and they wouldn't even pick up the phone! read more

I stopped by their open house today. Just to note: they have moved to 1390 E. Burnett St. in Signal Hill. It's in a business park that's mostly deserted, so there's plenty of parking. And there weren't any signs since they had only moved a few weeks ago. They're actually in the front part of the building, but you enter from the parking lot/back side. They have a showroom made up of several smaller rooms but they have great displays and change them often. That way you get a better idea of how items could be used for your party, wedding or other event. They actually do a ton of things. They have: --Amazing lounge furniture to rent, from cool, white swanky to more rustic/vintage --Uplighting --Incredible linens (lots of textures, etc.; they have a whole room where you can just look at colors and fabrics!) --Chargers, candle holders, cake stands --They even do flowers! Since they offer so many services, you really could use them as your event planner. I was impressed by their one-on-one service and attention to detail. I need some string lights for our San Diego wedding and Nancy was super sweet in coordinating the details and arranging for a time to meet at the venue to discuss what I was looking for. I did blue uplighting and and 2 water effect lights for the ceiling. Also, they did christimas tree lighting around the balcony to give it some light during the evening when it got dark, and they used white drapes on the celeing. The uplighting and drapery really was a nice touch for all of my photography, ESPECIALLLY for the "first dance" photos.
