I decided to give Glam a shot because they had good reviews. I get dip done about 2-3 times a month for the last 9 months at my usual salon and it lasts 2-3 weeks with no issues at all. Well at Glam I had a 5:15 appt and waited 20 minutes for them to start my regular pedi. It felt rushed and uncomfortable with them removing my dip from my hands while in the pedi chair, I did not get to relax. And when it was time to pick my dip colors I had no help choosing colors. I showed them a photo and they just handed me the basket of examples to look thru. But my hands were gloved with foil on to remove the dip so it was insanely difficult! I couldn't find the colors I wanted so I finally settled on two shades of pink. The pedi came out horrible, with parts of the polish still see threw and not fully painted. I was shocked they said I was done. For the dip mani she asked me if I wanted them cut and I said only a little. She asked if I wanted to keep the shape and I said yes definitely. I did like the technique she used and it seemed like she was careful but then I realized she had cut my nails so short! It was way shorter than I preferred and then she finished filing and the shape was not at all what I had before! I asked her to reshape more oval like I prefer and she said she couldn't because they were too short. Seriously!? She did not push my cuticles back enough and it spent hardly any time on them at all. Well now it's only been 1 week and I have a huge chip and crack already and growth because she didn't take care of my cuticles. I even told them when I had arrived that it was my first time here and I usually go somewhere else but I wanted to give them a shot. All in all I am very dissatisfied and wish I had stuck with the place I usually go. The only thing I would rate higher would be the atmosphere but I don't like how the pedi chairs are arranged in a circle. I won't be going back to glam. The photo of pink nails is from Glam. This is the first time in over a year that I treated myself to a pedicure and things seemed okay at first - I was nicely greeted and even though I was a walk in, I got seated quickly. But after my pedicure started, my tech and the one next to her started gesturing at me and laughing and saying something in their native language. Maybe what they were saying wasn't unkind, idk, but it felt unkind. My polish is all over my skin but somehow doesn't reach the end of my nails. It was just a really sub-par pedicure overall. I paid an extra $5 to remove the rougher skin on my heels because I struggle with that and honestly, they look the same, or even slightly worse - I do better myself at home. So this was my first time at Glam Nail Bar. I sent a message to make a same day appointment, which was promptly answered by Tram, the manager. It was awesome that I was able to get in for mani/pedi an hour after contact. On arrival, I noticed the salon was inviting, beautiful, and clean. The staff were very friendly too. My nail technician was nice (sorry I did not get her name) and did a good job. Unfortunately later after my appointment, I noticed some streaking of my pedicure gel polish. When it came time to my dipped manicure, great color and job, but it felt little rushed. My real reason for 3 stars is the price. I got a basic pedicure with gel and basic manicure with dipped nail polish and was charged $80. Maybe I'm just out of the loop, but I have gone else where for same quality for $20 cheaper. I'm always happy to try out new nail salons. Being back in Albuquerque for a wedding, I was in need of a mani/pedi last minute and they were luckily able to do just that for me. The salon itself is absolutely STUNNING. I was seated quickly, actually 45 minutes before the last minute appointment I made. The nail technician sat me to soak my feet. I let her know I had gel on my toenails already. At every other salon I've been to, they soak off the existing gel as peeling it off can rip off and damage the nail. Once my pedicure was started, the nail technician began using an instrument to peel off the shellac that was already on my toes. She started with my smallest toe and worked her way to my biggest toe. By the time I noticed she was PEELING the shellac off (as I was checking emails), she had already made her way to my big toe. I watched as she began peeling at the base of the nail, removing it in increments until she had a since piece of shellac across the tip of the nail. I've been wearing gel nails for many year and know that the tip of the nail is usually where the gel is bonded the best to the nail. I cringed as I watched the tip of my toenail ripped off along with the last segment of gel that was removed, not only on my big toe, but also all the other toes on that foot that she had already worked on. As soon as I noticed this, I asked if she would soak the gel off of the other foot. She offered to build up the tip of the nail she ripped off with powder, which I was a bit apprehensive about. It sounded a bit risky to me, like it would break off easily. As she continued with the pedi, she started GLUING a fake nail to my toe nail!!! I interrupted her and told her I thought she was just gonna add powder to it. She said she was gonna add a thin layer of powder over it. I expressed that I guess I had misunderstood when she told me she was gonna add powder to it, I thought she meant dip powder, she never mentioned gluing a false acrylic nail to my toe. I told her I DIDNT WANT a fake nail on and apologized for the misunderstanding. She continued working and added "powder" over the fake nail she glued on and began filing the big toe, eventually causing me to bleed. She explained that it would grow out and the next time I came in, they would be able to cut it off. At this point, what am I supposed to do? I was honestly shocked at what happened. I don't understand if peeling off the gel is their protocol, I can't imagine why they would subject their clients to this kind of damage. What I wanted to be a relaxing mani/pedi turned into a completed disaster for my poor right foot toenails. I didn't stay for my manicure. First impressions are everything, and this salon definitely left an impression on me, but NOT a positive one. The nail technician seemed like she really wanted to fix her mistake and was apologetic, but this was a very careless event that could have been easily avoided by soaking off the gel like all the other 384692 nail salons I've been to have done. In the end, I paid $37.75 (WOW!) for hands down the worst pedicure I've had in my life. read more

I am originally from Central Coast California and I have my normal nail tech BUT I wrecked my nails, as soon as I landed I started looking for a nail shop, I browsed for a bit before I saw this spot! I messaged them on yelp and asked for an appointment same day, I was really happy that I got a response within ten minutes!!! The salon is very clean and well kept, and for the quality of work the prices are good. The only set back i have had here is quality does differ from nail tech to nail tech. I've been here before and had a really positive experience. But today not so much. I came in for a gel manicure, and am pretty bummed with the results. I didn't even realize until I got home how uneven my cuticles are and there is clumpy polish on my left middle finger in particular. I know I have dry cuticles and a lot of extra skin that always needs trimming before polish. The nail tech didn't have me wash my hands after filling, which I thought was odd as there was nail dust all over my hands. I think that and the poor quality polish led to the subpar results. I made the mistake of "cheating" on my regular nail salon due to timing today. It was a mistake. This is hands down the worst set of dip nails I have had in two years. Please see attached photos after reading. 1. I asked for square shape. Please see photos for the round shape I got. 2. These nails are so thick they look like bubbles on top of my nails. Also, my natural nails ARE NOT that wide. The amount of product she put on my nails was ridiculous. When I told her I wasn't happy with how thick and wide my nails were she said "I'm leaving them like this or else they will break". I appreciate it, but a blob on top of my nails is not ok. 3. My finished nails are gross at best. There is product that was left all over my skin, under my nails, on the sides of my nails, everywhere! My fingers, because of the color I picked, actually look dirty because of it. The photos I took are after I washed my hands and nails. 4. I've never had someone order food while working on my nails before (although her food with red Chile on the side did sound good). She honestly stopped working on my nails, put her AirPods in, and ordered food while working on my nails. 5. Now to the pedicure part. Again, product left all over my skin. Avoid this place at all costs. Times are tough so save your money and go elsewhere and enjoy your day rather than leave like I did feeling cheated. read more

Sometimes when taking a 9-year old out, you don't get the kindest people. This place was great. She had a great time. My normal salon has been hard to book with since the state reopened, we decided to give a new salon a try. I booked appointments last week for this morning, it was quick and easy through Facebook Messenger. My sister and I were scheduled for gel pedicures and new gel sets each. The salon was clean, no strange smells and even the trash cans were empty. When we got there, they had us wash our hands (COVID practices I believe) while they got the water going in the pedicure chairs. The water was a great temperature, that's where the pedicure started lacking. We weren't allowed to choose the type of pedicure, we wanted a more "extensive" one but I guess it wasn't meant to be. We both experienced our technician dig into the side of our toes with the cuticle trimmers. We weren't given the option on how we wanted our polish, they painted the whole toe, no decor was offered but was definitely wanted. When we got to the manicure tables, we were asked the shape we wanted our nails. I always go for squoval, square with rounded corners and shorter. My sister also went this route because she just started a new job that has nail requirements. No cuticle care was given so when the skin stuck to the acrylic both techs used their fingernails to separate the cuticle from the acrylic and it was incredibly painful each time. The shape on my nails is great, hers ended up looking more oval due to the amount of filing done to her edges. She got French tip done in a really pretty orange, I was unfortunately not given an option until my technician had already polished and cured both color coats. I absolutely hate fully polished nails, the grow out is harsh and bugs me but for her to remove the polish and redo would have been a pain and I had other appointments. No offer was given for decor, glitter, nothing. The top coat was put on and she left. The nails done are flat, no curvature and my flesh under my fingers was left stuck to the acrylic. Because the shape isn't "natural" my finger nails hurt, I've never had that issue going to my previous salon. In addition the clippers were not in a sanitized bad, they were loose in the pedi caddy and another came from her drawer. I'm not sure the implements used were single serve or not, they didn't come home with me at the end of the day like our previous salon to be brought back and forth for my use alone. All in all we won't be back. I booked three weeks out just to go to my regular salon so they can hopefully fix the mess read more
