This place used to have friendly, staff but that has changed. I don't know if the business has changed hands. You are greeted by a man and a woman who scowl at you and bark commands. I had a simple manicure that looked the same as when I came with the exception of new polish. He barely filed my nails. There was no hand/arm massage like you get at other nail salons. I seriously doubt I will return. It's too bad because I always bring a friend or two with me so they have lost more than just my business. read more

I will first say this: My nails were very well done. Now for the rest: The place was absolutely filthy. The nail station I was at; filthy. The other areas; hand washing, towel drying, front door; filthy. Maybe I was just there on the wrong day...I will not be going back to see if it was cleaned up. This is a solid spot for a mani + pedi. I I found this place by looking at yelp reviews for salons in Rio Rancho and I was wary due to the lack of reviews, but I'm SO glad I tried it out. Andrew is THE BEST nail tech. My gel mani lasts forever, I love how he shapes my nails, and he is so wonderfully meticulous! I highly recommend Nina's, and Andrew especially. With the high star rating, I was definitely expecting more. I made an appointment and that was fine. Came in and they asked me to wash my hands first- also fine in theory, except the approach was abrasive, especially when I looked confused first. The pedicure itself was well done and the guy took his time to do a good job. There was no asking which type of pedicure I wanted (with aromatherapy, etc,), even though they clearly offered it. It was polite, but impersonal. The prices were also what I would expect for a more deluxe pedicure- not a basic pedi with regular polish. Overall it was okay, but I won't be going back. read more

After moving to the westside I struggled finding a good nail salon. I went to another salon down the street for the past year and was not happy with the job. ANOTHER GREAT EXPERIENCE TODAY AT NINAS!! I went in embarrassed about my toes! They have suffered so much from other salons here in NM!! 2 years ago they got infected due to a salon not being clean then I found out from my doctor that I can't do the gel on my toes because it's eating the nail away! So I have been trying to recover my toe nails ever since! When I sat in the chair for my pedicure I apologized for my ugly nails and Michael said with a smile "no don't be sorry it's ok, I'll fix them for you!" Well he did that and more!! He did everything I asked and even spent extra time and care into making ME feel comfortable! After I was finished I wasn't rushed out of my chair I was able to relax and let my toes dry. Then I got my eyebrows waxed by Nina who again did what I asked and not what she wanted which usually happens to me. I asked for them to be thinner and SHE DID JUST THAT!! I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS PLACE AND WILL BE BACK AS OFTEN AS I CAN!!! Thank you Nina for everything today!! Also this is a clean salon! Yes it's an older building so there are some things you can't fix! I totally understand that!! The bathroom was clean just older! They use liners in the foot soaking tubs and the common sink area was clean! Made an appt for pedicure and while Sam doing my pedicure , he asked me if I want manicure as well. I haven't done my nails for quite sometimes because of the nature of my job but since I'll be off for two weeks , I was convinced to have my manicure done as well . Sam did the pedicure in 20 minutes , really fast I think . And when he did my manicure, the lady sitting right to him , was speaking in Vietnamese am Di can sense the tensions the way she speaks , so Sam asked me if I still want manicure and I said yes . The lady( maybe the owner ) was mad at him and speaks in English and said , "you should have not taken it ." I was stunned cause she should be happy getting my business as it was my first time in their salons . Anyways, I ended up not doing my brows from that lady as she May messed it up . Non Nail shop experience. I Dropped my phone at the Balloon Fiesta and lost it. This Extremely kind person answered my phone and was more than happy to help me get my phone back. I called and spoke to Andrew asking if they accept walkins and can do a nail trim on a 89 year old. I was told yes. When we got there we were asked to come back at 5. We went across the street and tried to fit in our weekly shopping. We could not get back until around 5:30. They were closed !!! Their hours say open till 7. We drug a 90 year old lady around for nothing. Avoid this place. There are so many others out there. They did not care about an old woman. read more

Nina made my summer gardening nails and hand's gorgeous again with my favorite coffin shape ombré and Andrew made my feet and toes gorgeous again. Had to tell him more than once to trim them shorter. Hdd Ed used the hot stones with the salt scrub, never before had anyone done that. Usually it is done with the lotion of oil. Did a walk in and was told it was okay. I asked about certain designs I wanted and mind you, they're pretty simple. The woman helping said she can't do any designs at all, then a male staff jumped in rudely and stated that we need appointments if we want designs. I have never heard of a place that only does designs with an appointment. I am paying the same amount regardless if it's a walk in or an appointment so why should I receive crappier service and still pay the same amount. The lady was apologetic and was nice, however the male staff was incredibly rude even though he wasn't even involved in the situation. I have never been to a nail salon like this and it's incredibly disappointing. I've been here for pedicures with my husband and also manicures. Last time we went they were rushing and had terrible attitudes, my husband requested I find a new salon for us as the woman doing his feet made him uncomfortable by being rude and demanding. The owner was openly talking poorly about other guests he just had services to us, the current guests. Unprofessional. I took a long break from this salon and tried to call to schedule a service being hopeful it would be better .... Wrong. Not very nice people.
