My wife and I had pedicures. The shop is immaculate and the pedicures were perfect. prices were reasonable.

The minute I walked into the salon I knew it was a good one. It was spotlessly clean and nicely decorated. It felt soothing to be there. Tina greeted me as soon as I walked in the door for my appointment, and took me right over to a pedicure chair to get comfortable and soak my feet. We chatted a bit while she took great care of my feet, trimming and filing my nails, treating my cuticles, and giving me a very relaxing foot and leg massage. This in combination with the relaxing massage chair put me in a very happy place. After a while I close my eyes and relaxed fully while she continued the pedicure and polished my toenails. I have to admit it's been awhile since I've had a pedicure and I finally think my toes look good again. There is no doubt that I will return to this salon as my favorite in Albuquerque. read more

I want to give full information about my experience because I do not want to be a Karen, however this is the worst manicure/experience I have ever had. Called salon today to ask if they had time for a gel mani/pedi. I explained that I had a time constraint (appointment at 3:45, but I had to leave at 6 for work) I made sure that was enough time and they agreed. It took the lady 1.5 hours to do my pedicure. I was the only person there. She continually got polish on my skin and kept on wiping it / fixing it. For some reason, she only did one foot at a time? She cut all of my toe nails way too short. One of them she clearly knicked and it kept stinging every time she applied polish. She doesn't finish my toes until 5:20. I tell her that I dont think she should do my mani because theres not enough time. She insists she can do it. Fine. I am a very basic girl. I get my nails done maybe twice a year. I'm headed to Hawaii in 2 days and was really looking forward to having my nails done. These nails are just BAD. See for yourself! There is polish all over my cuticles, bubbling in the polish, and they are uneven. read more

Great experience! I went in for a gel pedicure during a weekend hoping that it'd last me through the holidays! The salon was quiet despite the two football games that were on their two TVs (hard selling point to convince my boyfriend to join me next time!). It wasn't crowded and their wasn't a wait. Despite the salon's decor being a bit dated, the salon is clean, free of clutter and relaxing. I got a great pedicure from a woman who was a perfectionist. The service was over an hour so make sure you have time to enjoy. I took a hot chocolate (they have cupholders built into the chairs) and it made my wintery weekend afternoon lovely! Especially appreciate the nail technician consulting me when my initial color was too light and helping me find a base color to do under and my shimmery nude pink to do on top. read more

Unfortunately in the land of mañana, nail salons feel at liberty to do your nails until mañana. Frankly, I don't have that kind of time. After the nail artist picked up her phone with gloves, cut my nails to the nail bed (I asked for a trim), then cut my cuticles (felt the burn when she put a top coat), I asked to pay and leave. This nail salon has high marks on another search site so I gave it a chance. The experience was terrible and led me to go back to my usual nail place. I had a wonderful experience with Tina today at Venus nails. She took so much time on my pedicure and was so detailed that I decided to get a gel manicure and eyebrow wax as well. It was well worth every penny (even though this place was incredibly reasonable in price anyway). My spa pedicure, gel manicure and eyebrow wax was $51. I noticed the entire staff, who are all family, were all just as mindful and detail oriented as Tina. If you're in a rush- this isn't the place for you. They really take the time to ensure your nails will not only look great, but will last. My sister and I are looking for a new nail salon and based off the reviews we came here. It was a first and last appointment for us. We both needed a rebase. My rebase took a little over 2 hours, it rarely takes a new set that long! The next day I noticed the gel polish was lifting and there were bubbles under the polish on 4 of my nails. I went in to get it fixed and they tried to blame me for what happened. They said that the gel wasn't dry so thats why but also that they haven't seen that happen before. Then they started saying I didn't put my hand in the dryer the wrong way. I've been getting gel nails for over 5 years and that has never happened. When I went in to get my 4 nails fixed it took 50 minutes! I have no clue why it took so long. The shape is also wrong, I asked for coffin and the nails I have are rounded square at best. But when I went in to get the 4 fixed she then started to file them into coffin... it was very frustrating. I will not be here again and do NOT recommend this nail salon to anyone. read more

I flew in on business and thought a manicure was needed. This nail salon was near my hotel. I called around 5 pm for an appointment and they said they could do it at 6:30 pm. When I arrived, all the technicians were still with other customers. It took me several years to find a great nail place once I moved to Albuquerque, but I love this little family owned nail place. It's run by three sisters and The nephew of their fourth sister. I had some time before my flight and they were open pretty early. I walked in at 10 am without and appointment and was immediately helped by Tina. She tried a couple colors for me so that I could pick the right shade. She checked with me to make sure that the nail length and shape was what I wanted, before, during and after shaping. She took great care with the cuticles and didn't hurt me or cut me at all. The massage was also excellent. She spent a long time on my hands and arms and even added a second coat of lotion for more massaging without asking. She knew I had to go to the airport so she applied quick dry as a base to bond the nail polish and on top of the top coat to expedite the drying process. Service was great. I was pampered for just under an hour and the manicure was less than $12. She deserved a big tip! Clean facilities. Ample parking. Tools were not individually packaged/sterile but she wiped it down with alcohol before use. read more

We made an appointment for pedicures and didn't have to wait to be seated which was nice. But when we sat down the water was cold. My technician asked me how I wanted my toenails cut and I informed her I liked them a little shorter then their current length and she promptly cut them way too short and then was brutal with the file. She actually made me bleed and then continued to file. She also cut my heel when she was removing some dead skin and then acted like it was my fault when I went to pull my foot away (because it was bleeding!). Then it was time for polish. She managed to get polish all over my feet, I have no idea how. And now my toes have a green tint because she didn't remove all the excess polish. The salon was clean and there was an autoclave that was in view and being used so I suppose that counts for something but I won't be returning. read more

The salon looks dated, but it doesn't really matter wheh you have people who know what they're doing and are friendly. Long story short, I got a great pedicure here. Thing is, the owner (who did my pedicure) has a lot of experience, and noticed an issue on my toenail I had contracted from another nail salon. It was barely perceptible, but having had pain in that exact area post that other pedicure, I knew she was right. I was naive and went on vacation and didn't think about it until I took the polish off 3 weeks later. I should have put tea tree oil on it like the owner had told me to, as now it has cost me a doc visit and a prescription. I think after being burned by infection from the previous salon, I may never be in the market again for this type of service (after you've experienced the risk factor, it's hard to sign up for that again). BUT, I would like to pass along that Venus Nails seems like an excellent, safe, and very conscientious nail salon. If you want this type of service in your life, I recommend going here for your health with people who care. I've read other reviews that say the service is slow, but keep in mind its much better to be in a place with people who take their time and are methodical than at a place with people who will rush and infect you. read more

This is my FAVORITE nail salon for gel manicures and pedicures. My gel nails last for so long, I've had some up to 5 weeks before chipping or lifting. They keep nails strong and aren't harsh when they remove the gel polish either. Their rates aren't through the roof and you get a big bang for your buck. I've tried other salons and they are so rough, hurt my nails and the gel doesn't last nearly as long. The guy here does amazing gel nails and Tina always remembers us when my family and I go in. On July 2, 2018 my granddaughter, 2 sisters and myself went here for the first time. Although they were late in opening the service was incredible. The shop was extremely clean and the staff very friendly. However, there was on technician who was rough with my granddaughter's pedicure and manicure and did nip a toe and a finger. I wish she had told me while we were there, I would not have given her the same tip I gave to my technician. I would have spoken up about it. It's hard to get in and out quickly, even with an appointment, but being in a hurry to get your nails done is a contradiction requiring services in another category entirely. Really clean work and spot up my street. I came in without an appointment for a gel pedi and regular mani (no color, just cleanup) around 2 on a Monday. I was seated in a spa chair promptly but I waited easily 20 minutes for someone to start on me. It would've been nice to know how long the wait would be, I could've run an errand and come back. That was a little off putting and I didn't get out of there til about 430 which is ridiculous for a mani pedi, def shouldn't take so long. I have been going to Venus for a couple of years. I drive out of my way to go to them. The last couple of times I have gone I've been asked to make my appointment in the afternoons even though I have explained that I can't. I have a daughter with a disability and I have to be home for her in the afternoon. I've even been called to change my appointment from morning to afternoon or even another day. I even call ahead a few days to get a appointment. I asked a friend of mine who has been going there since they've opened and she has been getting the same thing.
