The technician ground my daughter's nail down so much in one place there's barely any nail left, and it really hurt.

I took my daughter in to have her acrylic nails removed. They did a TERRIBLE job, leaving some of the acrylics attached, grinding almost all the way through my daughter's nail in other places...(yes, she is in pain!!!), and leaving her nails a jagged glue covered mess. The sign said $15 for acrylic removal, and they had the nerve to charge us $25 after destroying my daughter's nails and not even fully removing the acrylics.

Been here for a couple pedicures now, and I can say from my most recent visit that they've done a great job with their health and safety protocols. They leave the doors wide open for air flow, hand sanitizer is waiting for you, and there is plexiglass dividing you and the technician and you and the other customers. I haven't seen this at all nail salons so it definitely sets them apart from the rest! I did a walk-in on my most recent visit (my first pedi in over a year!) and they were able to get me in within about 15mins. No complaints about the pedicure and they were a really pleasant team of ladies. That pedicure lasted me for quite awhile! $30 for a pedicure and they prefer cash. Definitely recommend!

I walked in for a manipedi. The ladies warmly welcomed and gave me the best mani pedi that still lasts over a month (see photo). I've been getting mani pedis for years. These ladies did the best out of all the places I've tried. Not rushed, carefully took their time, listened and executed as I requested I told them that I wanted my nails to look natural, not thick. She took the time to carefully buff it down thin enough to look natural. I chose a spring yellow color, they recommended to color just the tips and I received lots of compliments on this style. Will definitely be back even though I have to drive about 1/2 hour to get there.

Sarah is the truth! She shaped the hell out of my nails and made sure that I was pleased with everything every step of the way. Her attention to detail was amazing and you could tell that she is a perfectionist with her craft. There are only a few spots in this town that do dip powder and trust, this will be my spot from now on. I will definitely be back!

This is probably the worst nail shop to ever come to. A friend and I decided to come due to the mediocre reviews. We both got dipping powder on our natural nails and a pedicure. Two days later the dipping powder on both of our nails startted to crack. I've been getting dipping powder for over two years now and it has never cracked like this. I went back to get a five nails fixed and I was hopeful it wouldn't happen again. While I was getting my nails fixed another lady walked in with the same problem. Keep in mind, we both got our nails done the same day but different time frames. Moral to the story three people that same day came back to the nail shop to get their nails fixed. After getting my nails fixed, two days later four nails are cracked again. I am honestly disappointed with the quality and products they use here. It was $40 down the drain and I am in hopes they will give me my money back so that I can go to another place that does a better job

I loved the service but my gel manicure was not worth $40. My nails chipped on the THIRD day. It was very unfortunate.

Absolutely in love with this nail salon, and absolutely heartbroken I found them after a year of living in Berkeley, when I will now be moving to Sacramento. It's so hard to find a good nail place, and I found the best one too late! I found them completely on accident and I was looking for anyone to do dip nail, and they do! I called and had an appointment a couple hours later with Sarah! She let me choose from several colors, and I asked for multiple things to be done and she did them all! Like to a T! I couldn't be happier with my nails!! I definitely recommend Sarah, and dip nails!!! I got the color "baby's breath" and I am honestly obsessed! I did a square rounded shape and kept some of my length! It was $40! They have the cutest nail design stickers as well that are 2 for $6! Super cute Louis Vuitton gold ones if you're into that! Sarah made sure to make sure I was comfortable and I love this place SO much and I hope i make it back before I move! even continued conversation with me! I also love the water bowl with the lemon slice and rose petals to soak your fingers in!

This is where I get my pedicures and my gel extensions. My nail technician is Sarah. I have been going to her for 2 years, since i moved to Albany. She is very gentle and genuine and that's why i continue to come to her only: she takes her time with your service. I'm always satisfied. Here are my nails I got yesterday. They seem like nice people but the craft is not good here. I went in needing a fill on an acrylic set, my nails were long and almond shaped, the acrylic the lady used was lumpy and she did not seem to understand that I wanted my nails smooth, all the same shape and consistency. I gave her a chance to correct it a second time and it still looked terrible. This was supposed to be my Mother's Day weekend set of nails but they were ruined and I ended up leaving with my nails cut off because she refused to fix them. Just to think I came in with long nails which I intended to have filled and left with short nails because I felt I had no other option. When I asked her to make my nails short, she just chopped them off didn't try to shape or file them. I asked if my appointment was over and she said "yes, you go somewhere else". (Lol) I was never rude with these people I think she just knew she messed my nails up and wasn't going to be able to fix them to my expectations, so she chose to cut my nails off and send me on my way. When I asked for them to be cut as a last resort I would at least think she would try to make them look decent but she didn't give a care. They were just not caring or compassionate for the customer. It's Mother's Day weekend for crying out loud. I'll never go back there !!!

Ask for Sarah to do your gel nails!! She made great conversation and took her time with each nail. Each of my nails came out to be perfectly shaped & the color was so pretty! I'm always skeptical when it comes to finding a nail place but I really needed to find one close by to my job and I luckily did!!!! I was looking for dip powder and this place may not look great and is small but customer service is amazing. Sarah took care of me and she was helpful and did an amazing job. With all the racial injustice going on in the world I think it is important I finally make this review. I'm disappointed in myself for taking so long to post this. I had gone to this salon the fall of 2018 for a birthday nail treatment. When I had arrived for my appointment, there was only 1 other person in the salon with me. About 20 minutes into my manicure, a Black woman entered the salon asking what the wait time would be. Once again, there was literally only 2 people in the salon. The pedicurist treating the other patron responded "It's a two hour wait, try somewhere else." After the woman left, the other patron in the store asked, "There is no one here, why did you tell her it's 2 hours?" The pedicurist responded, "I could just tell she was no good." Simply from the appearance of this Black woman who entered the store, she was turned away. I have never returned to this salon because I was so disappointed in the discrimination I had witnessed. I wish I had said more when I had witnessed this. But I hope to those of you that read this remember that racial discrimination is NOT okay, and I will not support any business that discriminates based off the physical appearance of a patron. read more

I had the WORST experience ever! One of them finished doing my gel manicure in less than 15 minutes very carelessly and was really rude! When she was clipping off my skin around my thumb nail, she clipped too deep and made me bleed. It hurt so much OMG! But most of my dead skin around my nails were still there at the end! It was just very coarse! Definitely NOT gonna come back again! I think I can do better than her, at least much more carefully! Oh btw, I made an appointment at 3pm but I still waited more than 30min cuz this salon only has 2 workers. They just take everyone's reservations even the appointments overlap with each other. Also, my friend's color was not painted even but the person just said "I already took time for you but it just doesn't always turn out what we wanted". Speechless..... read more

I had a great pedicure with Han today. She was gentle, thorough, and was in no rush. I especially like the lack of nickle-and-diming I've experienced elsewhere when a dremmel was used to smooth calluses, as this was included in the cost of the pedicure here. The salon had plenty of fresh air, which is good for everybody. The chair offered a nice massage. I was happy for the referral from a friend and will be back. Thank you Han! read more

Got almond shaped nails, my first experience getting my nail professionally done. Got a few knicks in my nailbed and a little polish and glue on my skin but nothing that wont go away after a few hand washes. She was on the phone during our appointment but she made sure to keep asking if I liked the shape, length, thickness, etc. I got gel removal and a full set for only $40 so I gave a tip. Overall good first experience getting nails done. read more

Found this place on Yelp and send a message for an appointment. I got a quick response back confirming my appoint for Saturday Morning. I got to the shop about 5 mins early (they open at 10, and my appointment was at 10) and they let me right in. Phoung was very nice and welcoming. I was literally in and out of that place in less than 30 mins. She cut my nails down to the perfect size, and really paid attention to details when doing my gel manicure. She made sure she covered every spot and that nothing was out of place or uneven. I always look for an "experience" when going to a nail shop. Glamour Nails is Quick, and gives you that experience of being in a relaxing place. I don't live in the area, however, when I am out this way, this will be my go to spot. I would for sure recommend this place if you're ever in the area and need your nails done. Thank you Phoung! read more

The grow out at the cuticle line is starting to peel but otherwise ZERO chips and I was very active- including two days of major yard work with gloves. This place is honestly perfect for your regular mani/pedi needs. They have a great selection of colors gel or no gel. The ladies there are great. There are two of them and they're both very very skilled. I got a gel mani with designs and a regular pedicure and am very satisfied with the price point. The salon environment is very calming and nice even though the store isn't that big. But it wasn't busy when I visited so all is good. Will definitely come back whenever I want to change the color but so far by manicure is going strong read more

This was my first time in this salon, I don't live in Berkeley but I was visiting the city and one of my nails broke. Omg! They took me right away and had the cutest shop, the two other two ladies in the store were regulars and looked relaxed and happy. I came here for a powder dip/SNS manicure and again a few days later for eyebrows and a pedicure. There was a line the first time I came and I had to wait about half an hour even though I had an appointment, but that's not that uncommon for nail salons. The services were all great; they had a wide selection of colors for powder dip and did a very good job. I've received many compliments on my eyebrows! There was a nice friendly atmosphere in the salon. I'd definitely recommend, especially for powder dip! read more

I visited first time for acrylic nails got something different. I was mad but called 2 days later with broken nails. They told me to come back and I did and they fixed the whole thing. They fixed me up so good so good that my husband and I completed a 2 bedroom move and didn't even scratch a nail They are so beautiful and strong. I will go back best acrylic ever. This place is my new favorite salon. So close to campus, terrific nail technicians, and very affordable prices. They keep the place very well ventilated and everybody is masked. Not fancy --but clean, safe, convenient, and a lovely experience. Massage chairs, gels, acrylics and all the usual. Oh and outstanding arm/feet massages with regular service. read more

Sooo I wrote a review on this nail shop a couple years ago I loved coming here to see Vicky but I stopped coming since I stopped working close to her shop. I went back recently in hopes Vicky was still there but they told me they bought it and it was now under new management.I showed the new lady a picture of how I wanted my nails powder dipped she did it close to what I wanted and it was very cute a little pricy I paid $65 she said she charged me to take off my previous nails and for the powder dip new set. I fell in love with my nails but the next day the nail on my thumb broke. I was upset and went back to get it fixed. The lady fixed it for me and didn't charge me but I still gave her a $5 tip. The next day after that on a Sunday I wasn't doing anything rough and another nail broke on my opposite hand. Now I was pissed so I went back a 2nd time and mind you I live in Oakland and this shop is in Berkeley so inconvenient that I had to keep coming back to this shop for a brand new set that I hadn't had on for not even a week barely a couple days .the lady who did my nails wasn't there. I was upset they asked me what color it was and I didn't remember and they had no idea couldn't even call the lady to ask for help or anything. She made me soak my finger in acetone which was really cold and uncomfortable she said she will fix but it won't be the same. Lol I was like wtf point is it was not the same and it was done so horribly and now my new set looks like shit so technically I paid $65 +gas money twice to have my hands looking like shit. I'm so upset with what happened and I'm never going back. I miss Vicky FOR SURE!!!!! read more

My experience here was completely horrible. The first time I went the lady who did my nails took 2 hours and they came out horrible. They started breaking and falling off within the first week of me having them. I went back and explained to them their mistakes and she basically told me that's not her fault. I requested they be fixed and she rolled her eyes and told me to sit down. The appointment started at 11:30am I left the shop at 2pm with lopsided nails. They were all different lengths and uneven. The prices are really high and their work isn't worth it. I will stick to nail techs from now on !!! read more

The most efficient gel mani/pedi place around - This is my second time here and I'm always out within an hour. This is definitely a no-frills place but the women here are professional and efficient. The space is pretty small so recommend making an appointment if you want to snag a spot. read more

This shop has had a serious upgrade. Previous owners although well know in the community did not offer much in terms of shop ambiance or new exciting colors, designs,shapes etc... theses girls are the bomb!! They have the shop looking good smelling good and they will have you looking good and smelling good too. they have all the new colors and techniques. they work quickly but efficiently. Which is another plus for me being that I come on my lunch Break. That was one thing about the previous owners I could not stand was the constant breaks between work. They are also very personable and they work hard to make sure you will be a return customer. read more

(See my other reviews for example) it might look like a regular nail salon, but the artistry is next level luxury. You might end up having favorites but every tech is incredibly skilled and cares about the details. The salon itself is quite simple, clean and brightly lit. My first time coming in I saw Jojo, then Hannah, then Cherry, all great work. Today I saw Lee who is also the manager and watching her work I was in awe. She was doing my builder gel mani while booking appointments, managing walk ins, checking out customers and answering calls texts, I don't know how she does it all without error but I can see why she's in charge. They are quite busy, so I recommend booking an appointment and coming during slower hours (it's never empty though!) sometimes I find myself waiting after walking in on a weekday afternoon or morning even because their customers always come back. No matter what they always find a way to get me in. They are very transparent with pricing, they will tell you how much everything is, add ons shape change etc. and it is good that they do this. This salon deserves 5 stars!! Both Viki and Julie are very personable and friendly. The salon is extremely clean which is important. If you want a quality, manicure, pedicure, fill, etc., this is the place to come. I have tried various salons over the years and Glamour Nails is the best by far! I come to Berkeley all the way from Petaluma as do others just to have my nails done by Viki! Very reasonable prices, quality work and excellent service by both Viki and Julie!! read more

I understand if I was being aggressive but the whole time, I was being very nice. She starts taking the color off and her drill kept going on my skin and my body jumped from being startled and she said "honey I'm not cutting your skin, I'm just taking the color off". My eyes were getting teary at this point. I told her no color and left paying $20 less than what was the original price for what I asked for. She said it would be $60, I gave her a $10 tip and it seemed she herself was surprised I tipped because she came after me and said I paid $70, I told her keep it, your tip. Left crying on Christmas Eve. If a customer asks if you know how to do it and you don't, just please say no and show some designs you're capable of doing.

That was a little frustrating because they were not actually ready, and I would have preferred they were upfront about the wait instead of seating me immediately. I decided to look past it, stayed on my phone, and asked for the massage chair to be turned on while I waited. During my appointment, Dina removed my acrylics and commented negatively about the person who previously did my nails. I jokingly asked if she could do better, and she confidently said yes. I laughed and responded, "We'll see." I was also upfront and told her that if I came back, it meant I liked the service and if I didn't, then that would speak for itself. I got a white-tip deluxe pedicure, and while another employee worked on my nails, I continued talking with Dina. During the conversation, she asked if I knew someone named Joy. When I said no, she responded with something along the lines of, "You're not from the hood." That comment immediately made me uncomfortable because I viewed it as a microaggression rooted in stereotypes. I responded by saying, "That's crazy, why would you think that? I could be from the suburbs." After that, she laughed with another staff member and spoke in her native language. Later that day, after reflecting on the interaction, I realized I really wished I had addressed it more directly in the moment and told her that the comment was inappropriate. There were also other moments during the conversation including her reaction to finding out I was married that gave me the impression that I was not fitting whatever stereotype or perception she had in mind about Black women. That is something I think many Black people in America would understand without needing much explanation. Overall, I will not be returning. Between the unnecessary wait, the service not meeting my standards, and my uncomfortable interaction with Dina, this experience left a negative impression on me. The pedicure itself was not impressive enough to overlook the experience, and overall this place fell short in both professionalism and customer service. I've had much better experiences elsewhere, and I hope Dina takes this review as an opportunity to reflect on how her comments come across to clients moving forward.
