I wanted to try something new and I have never kayaked before. Coming from Florida, I've always saw that glass bottom kayaks were very popular. Luckily I was able to book a glass bottom kayak for a sunset tour! The tour lasted a little under 2 hours. I was super nervous at first but eventually got the hang of it. Our guide was very helpful and informative! We kayaked along the channel, enjoyed the sunset, and even took a group shot! Unfortunately the water was too murky to see the bottom, but we did see the seaweed underneath us. Highly recommend when the weather is nice! read more

My husband Caleb and I went on the shelling/nature tour and this was my first time kayaking. The guides Neil and Kyle were the absolute best! They were super patient, full of information about all of the wildlife and shells and also about how to kayak since I had never done it before. This is the best part of our trip hands down!! The owner is great; she was able to squeeze us in same day when many others wouldn't; she also offered a military discount without us even asking. Alissa, our guide was awesome; she knew the route well and gave easy to follow instructions and kayak advice. The length was roughly 1.5 miles out and back (3 miles-ish). My mother and I booked the 7am Cherry Grove Salt Marsh Tour on a Friday morning. We were hoping that the earlier tour would be a great start to the day to catch the sunrise; we were correct. It was a beautiful morning and it wasn't too hot out yet. We actually had our own private tour guide for the day, as we were the only two people that booked the 7am trip! Our tour guide's name was Lucas, and he was the perfect person to take us around the marsh. He was very knowledgeable​ about the plant life and the wildlife as well as the Myrtle Beach area in general. Lucas was very personable and seemed to enjoy his job a lot. He did a great job at answering our questions and guiding us through the marsh. He even recommended​ a great place for us to eat breakfast afterward​​s. It started to get a little hotter as the tour went on and the sun came out, so I would recommend​ an earlier or later time for one of these tours. I ended up taking​ my lifevest off halfway through the tour. Dress comfortably and bring some water and a snack with you. I just wore some swim trunks, a tank top​, and flipflops. We opted to use the glass bottom kayak, but I probably wouldn't do that in the future. The marsh water wasn't the clearest (as I expected), and the only things we really saw beneath us were a few oyster beds that we came across. I would recommend​ saving a few bucks and going for one of the regular kayaks. read more

We loved, loved, loved our tour. Our guides were super friendly and knowledgeable. They took their time with us (since we had varying degrees of experienced kayakers in our group). We kayaked all the way to a private beach. It was just perfect. We even got to see crabs and other critters. One of our guides works with the loggerhead turtle conservation group. She showed the kids where a turtle made her nest. I totally recommend this company. One other thing to note: we rented the glass bottom kayaks. Next time we would just get the regular kayaks. Just spent a perfect afternoon kayaking! We're here for our anniversary without our kids, but they are never far from our mind, so we had to take the shelling tour and find them some souvenirs. Our guide and her son were the perfect hosts, always keeping us safe, but also being personable and fun! We found lots of fun shells on the private island and it was so relaxing to walk around and see hermit crabs scrambling about and watch the sand spurt up from clam holes. One of our tour members had a hard time on the kayak and they were very respectful and came up with a great way for him to finish the tour. I have been visiting Myrtle Beach for 30 years and had never been on a kayak tour. My family and I decided to give it a try this year and we absolutely loved it! Myself, my husband and my two sons ages 7 and 4 use two glass bottom kayaks and while I was nervous about how my youngest son would do in the kayak, they were very stable and pretty easy to paddle. Our guide and her assistant were very friendly and took a lot of time to make sure everyone knew how to handle their kayak and felt comfortable before heading towards our island destination. The guide offered a lot of information about the area and got to know everyone in the group. When we got to the island we were able to explore it, which was something my children loved. They enjoyed playing in the tide pools and chasing the seagulls. Our guides caught flounder, small fish, hermit crabs and blue crabs and took the time to let the kids see and touch them and talk to them about them We also got to see a horseshoe crab and a sea turtle nest. We have done just about everything there is to do in Myrtle Beach and North Myrtle Beach and we all agree that the kayak tour is our favorite. Our guides were amazing and the entire experience was enjoyable. Plus, it was very affordable, especially for the length of time it lasted. My two kids, my husband, and I had a wonderful afternoon of easy relaxing kayaking through the Hog Inlet area to a private beach along the ocean at low tide. My kids enjoyed searching for crabs, shells, and sand dollars along the shore and even a great swim in the calm waters. We had a really nice time on this sunset kayak tour. The guide was very friendly and knowledgeable. We had rented the glass bottom kayaks though which turned out to be a mistake. They were more like canoes than kayaks so they were less comfortable and more difficult to maneuver and you couldn't see anything under the water anyway. If we go back to Myrtle Beach we would definitely use this company and kayak again, but we would not get the glass bottom kayaks. read more
