Safelite sent an estimate suggesting I let them change out the wiper blade (for about $38), without ever seeing it. I declined. It turned out that the entire wiper blade motor had to be replaced and they do not do that. They gave me a window of 8-12:00, so I waited all morning. The tech was an hour late. When he arrived, I reminded him that we were ONLY replacing the glass and I would be paying ONLY my deductible of $250. He confirmed that was what he understood too. After about an hour working he said he couldn't do it himself and would have to take my car into the shop. The whole point of using Safelite was so it could be done at my home. When they returned the car, the tech asked for payment and I gave him my credit card. He waved it over his phone and started to leave. I asked if I didn't need to sign it or something, he said no, so I never saw it. I reiterated it was just for $250 correct? He said yes. Shortly after he left I received a text receipt showing they charged my account $287.88. I immediately called them and said they had overcharged me, that I only had to pay my deductible of $250. The girl who answered the phone put me on hold and called someone else. Then came back and said they would check into it and get a refund to me in 7-10 days, if necessary. I said that was not okay. I wanted a credit issued immediately. They said they couldn't, so I placed a dispute with the credit card company until a refund is issued. I do not trust this company. They tried to upsell me and were told multiple times that nothing additional was wanted, and they provided nothing additional but they still charged for it anyway.
