Heidi and the staff at Glass Etc. California are superstars with regard to glass! I was referred to Glass Etc. by our contractor, and feel so fortunate. I visited the shop, looked at their samples after meeting Heidi who provided me with the catalog so we could review the choices available. After I selected the glass type, hardware, and coordinating with our contractor for installation, I was advised the handle might look too small for the large door. I am so appreciative for their insight and suggestion. I took a look at the website, found another handle which wasn't included in the catalog, and it was installed at the time of delivery...easy all the way around. The employees at Glass Etc. California are pleasant, courteous, and very patient as they worked with me to create a beautiful shower which my husband and I love and will enjoy for years to come. They did a great job fixing some Milgard windows that had been improperly installed at our house. Their prices were very reasonable, and they were able to replace some mirrors in our bathroom medicine cabinet as well. I had to replace an odd size (47 1/16 inches) glass tabletop with a bezel for a wood dining room table. I called Glass Etc. and they custom made it to my exact specifications (from an emailed drawing) and delivered it in less than a week. Junior, who took my order was very helpful, and the deliverers Carlos and Julio were very professional during the install. They carefully removed the broken and cracked tabletop, cleaned and installed the new tabletop with great care. A great outfit, I look forward to doing business with them again. read more

I quoted out simple shower door installation for a Delta 123 kit from Home Depot. Quoted 3 vendors and decided to hire Glass Etc. primarily due to the fact that they were only blocks away and had very positive reviews but above all they were available to start right away. Their pricing was slightly higher than others but they were available so I went with them. Upon booking the job they informed me that times were filling up and gave me a appt. 1 week out. Day before the appointment I received a call to reschedule the instillation date. Sure thing, things happen and I rescheduled my work and life to accommodate. Day of the installation they came in and did the job. It was completely done incorrectly and upon seeing their work and questioning it I was informed this is how they do it. The shower rails had been cut incorrectly making the entire kit worthless and leaving gaps between the shower rails holding the doors and the walls. Their suggestion for correction the obvious mistake was for me to purchase drywall then cut to size match the ends and paint over to hide the gaps. Spoke to them and asked for them to correct and offered to buy the kit for them to fix properly and have it done like the instruction videos and manual clearly showed. Please take note that on 2 occasions I had to pull out the installation manual to show them what needs to be done and how it should look. Instead of their interpretation and handy work. Glass Etc was nice enough to locate the top bar and purchased it on my behalf. Note it was scratched and from a damaged kit home depot had sold them. Again I let it go. Better to just get it over with. Scheduled another appt. several days out. Then no show, no call no communication. Called/texted several times and did not hear back. Rescheduled again to have them come up and finish the job half way through and yes again done incompletely and inaccurately. This time they cut incorrectly leaving a smaller gap and decided to fill with gray silicone to mask their handy work. At least this time it could be adjusted (but at a later day and time since they had another scheduled appt.) Note that they offered to correct it before I even came in to see and give my opinion. Scheduled a 3rd time for rework and guess what they reschedule again. Long story short 6 appointments later 1 dozen phone calls and I have a complete shower door installation after the 3rd installation appointment. I have to say they are very polite over the phone and at the work job. But unfortunately this does not make up for the fact that they are completely unable to properly do a simple job in a timely manner. Please do your self a favor and hire anyone but Glass Etc. This small job ended up costing me so much more due to the time I had to take away from work and life to manage this mess. By the way I asked them if they thought it was appropriate for me to pay them the full quoted price and based on their reaction it seemed to surprise them that I would bring this up. They hesitantly and offered a $50 discount. I chuckled and gave them the full value their quote we had agreed upon. If your looking for an adventure and a headache just skip this review and hire away. Good luck. read more

Sept. 7, 2017: Updating my previous review because I've now been out to the shop FIVE times (40-mile round trip, btw) in an attempt to get two glass doors cut correctly. The folks in the shop are very nice, but they special order sand-blasted glass from a company called Liberty in Corona, I believe. At least three times now Liberty has cut the glass incorrectly. I ordered at 18-5/8 inches wide and the doors have come back at 18-1/2--which doesn't sound like a huge error but in the enclosure I have it matters. But the primary mistake is that the cuts have been uneven; i.e., the two doors when placed against each other don't match and the gap between the door and the cabinet is uneven. (have photos but unable to post with this review.) The other thing you should know is that when I returned the glass the first time (or was it the second?) the shop owner told me that Liberty was offering a 30% discount/refund if I accepted the glass as is. In other words, they don't mind passing off imperfect products and appearing unprofessional. That was a warning sign. On my third visit, the lady mentioned that she once had to send glass back to Liberty three or four times. To make matters worse, I had to prepay for this. I intend to update this review again if not satisfied and/or given a refund. And to add insult to injury, the $35 "patter" charge mentioned below was actually a "pattern" charge. I can't imagine why people have to pay for a pattern that obviously didn't help the glass cutter. I'm sure they've had happy, satisfied customers. I can't say I'm one yet. First review: This is a preliminary review because I'm waiting for a response to my email reply to their estimate. I had called them and explained that I needed a SAND-BLASTED glass door, not acid-etched. Sand-blasting, for environmental reasons, is hard to find, so I was happy to learn they could do it. I gave them measurements by phone and even sent a picture of the glass entertainment cabinet door I need to replace. I emphasized in my email that acid-etching would not achieve the darkness of opacity I needed. To my disappointment, the bid that arrived was for acid etching. It also included a $35 "patter" charge, which was unexplained. And so far I have not heard back from them as to why they gave me an estimate for acid-etching and what is a "patter" charge. I'd like to do business with them but I'm now looking for other shops. read more

Out of nowhere the sliding glass door in the family room of my home shattered after owning it for over 25 years! I called many glass door companies and the pricing varied all over the place. Josefina and Glass Etc. are great!!!! I had a home break in and needed to replace the broken glass door. I tried several glass replacement companies and it was difficult to get a call back, much less a timely visit to give me an estimate. Josefina answered the first time I called, sent someone out the same day and the door was replaced about 3 days later. She was referred by my security company, and boy, does she do a great job!!!!! I hope I don't need her services again, but if I do, I dont have to look around for the right place to go! AND, I did get several estimates and hers was the lowest by far. read more

The staff working at this place are pleasant when you place an order, but in my opinion the quality of their work is inferior and their customer service when a problem arises is poor. They came in to do a shower door for us, but their measurements were off and so the shower door that they ordered did not close well and made a clicking noise. After some time working on it, the noise disappeared, but the noise came back three months later. When we called them to address the problem, they refused to take responsibility, and then they did not return calls and did not return repeated emails. We also ordered from them a glass cover for our dinning table, but it was not cut well to the measurements. If you are looking for a professional high quality glass company, it is my opinion that this is not the place to go. read more

I really can't review the work of Glass Etc. because they NEVER SHOWED UP. We had a 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. window today (9/17/4) and no one came. This is particularly frustrating because our home was broken into and we've been stalled by our home owners insurance company (Mercury Ins). I feel compelled to write a review on this company. I initially walked in their showroom( if you can call it that) to order a hinge for a shower door and a bumper for the glass in a shower door. It just so happens that they had the bumper displayed at one of their shower door setups( except in the color black). I asked if they can order the same in a grey color. I was reassured that they could. I paid in full for the hinge and the bumper. I was told that they will call me once the parts are in ( about 4-5 days). Ten days went by and I did not receive a call so I stopped by. Of course no one know of the order and they were going to look in to it and call me back right away. Once more I did not get a call so I stopped by again only to find out that they have received the part( didn't bother calling me) but ordered the wrong part. So a month in to it at this time we are back to square one. They reassured me that they will order the correct part and will call me as soon as they receive it. Well I think you know what happened next- 45 days later and 2 more visits they ordered the same wrong part again. Finally got my money back and will go elsewhere. read more
