From the beginning I was dealing with Ed, the owner of EDMAR Contractors, very pleasant and knowledgeable person. If you ever had some masonry work done on your property you might know him as well, he's been in construction business since the 80's. Anyways, he came over and checked all the windows that need to be replaced, pointed out a couple major issues with bricks underneath my bay window, and recommended a few window manufacturers. One of them was a company I did some research on before so I decided to pick their product. I got his quote a couple of days later and despite the fact it was slightly higher than an estimate from another contractor, I signed the contract. I took about two weeks to get my windows and installation itself was on a difficult side because of those brick issues that needed to be corrected. I was actually glad that he was able to do everything at once and I didn't have to look for a mason. When the manufacturer's truck delivered the windows one them was cracked but they're local so it was replaced next morning. The crew was very helpful and careful with the flowers my wife was so afraid of losing during the installation. After 2 days of work the windows were all in, bricks repaired, and my dogs happy to enjoy their backyard sanctuary. I just hope that all my clients are as pleased with me as I am with Ed.

As soon as we had the contract agreed and half payment made, she came out to discuss paint with me. We were a pretty easy client, as I had sent her what we had been thinking about. She brought those colors with some similar suggestions, and we figured out quickly what walls would be what, and she put sticky notes on each wall. The painters themselves were polite and warm. They were here extra days fixing things the drywallers didn't do, and Mary worked it out with the contractor so we wouldn't need to pay for something that should have already been done. I got to chat with one of the workers, Russ, and learned quickly that he is very detail-oriented and very clearly takes pride in his work (both things you want in a painter!!) - he was here extra hours in the end because he wanted to make sure the job was done properly, and humored my every request for nitpicky details to be touched up.
