A wonderful restaurant with nice decor and solid food. The restaurant is nicely decorated. You the option to sit in the tavern, which is a more casual environment. The tavern has TVs and a bar. It is usually packed with Rutgers fans during game days for them. The restaurant itself is more upscale and is separated with a glass door. I suppose it is tree themed as it has a variety of glass "paintings" around the restaurant including a large one in the middle. I went twice for dinner and breakfast. My dinner was delicious. I had a flavorful buffalo chicken pizza. It was not spicy as I went for the non-jalapeño option. The crust was crispy, but fairly thin. They had a nice mixture of flavorful cheeses and the chicken was amazing! I also got a s'mores cake during dinner. It was OK, but nothing great. I did not love the whipped cream on the side, but the cake part was nice as it was not too sweet. The breakfast I had was buffet style and I was not the biggest fan. Their fruit looked fresh, but lacked flavor. They croissant and muffins were OK, but I did not love them. The biggest disappointment were the blueberry pancakes. They did not have actual blueberry just blueberry flavor. The staff was really helpful and nice, but a bit slow. They were apologetic about that, however. The manager really likes Rutgers sports too.

The buffet table.

Nice place to have breakfast. The omelet station chef did a very good job on my omelet. The buffet was okay. Coffee was quite good.

On a rainy night in New Brunswick, looking for shelter after a show, a group of us found ourselves a good spot at the Glass Woods Tavern Lounge which is located inside the Hyatt Regency. The lounge is spacious and modern and our server was knowledgeable in a list of desserts and alcohol we were all craving. My fruit platter was fresh for the most part with the exception of the mandarine oranges. My friend's tres leches cake was not up to par as it wasn't as moist as it should be. The rug also smelled exactly like airplane bathrooms (some type of sanitizing solution).

Tried the place for the breakfast buffet, loved the service, delighted to learn that they can serve espresso (unlimited). Includes an omelette station, some degree of variety. Convenient for the hotel guests. Interior a bit upscale but not too extreme.

Glass woods Tavern from the outside. Great intimate dining space.

The menu focuses on fresh, locally ingredients, which is evident in the vibrant flavors of each dish. Their small plates, had a variety option but I went with the smoked salmon with egg salad which was a different taste profile that I loved. The main course I stayed with seafood and chose the Mahi Mahi which was Sous vide, quick grilled, and perfectly seasoned. The service was great and team stayed on top of everything from drinks to clearing the table. Parking is limited so anticipate using their Valet service. The restaurant's unique name comes from the title of a Dudley Moore and Peter Cook comedy routine about a restaurant in the Scottish moors that served only Frogs and Peaches (a culinary concept that was never considered for the restaurant)! If you are attending Rutgers and want a great spot to go with family or just a great date night spot then The Frog and The Peach is the spot.

Overall it is a nice vibe inside and the staff is friendly. We started with tuna sashimi which was tasty and felt like a good light appetizer, especially from the lemongrass broth. I ordered the pan roasted chicken which was delicious. It was tender, flavorful, and cooked very well making each bite enjoyable. My husband ordered the cacio pepe and was able to add scallops to it which added a unique twist to the usual pasta dish. Overall our experience was nice and our waiter was friendly. While it would have been nice if our waiter stopped by a bit more so we could get the check sooner, given that this is a college town, it didnt seem like a big deal to us if we had to wait a little longer for things like the check or placing our order - just something to keep in mind.

I recently tried the chef's 8-course tasting menu, and it was perfectly paced--the small plates are proportionately sized so you leave feeling satisfied rather than overwhelmed. Every dish is a standout with deep, "stacked" flavors; even the ingredients I was skeptical about ended up being favorites. Nothing needed a drop of extra seasoning. The service sets a warm, welcoming tone from the start. We were offered Oshibori (Japanese warm towelettes) to refresh our hands, and getting a fresh set of utensils with every course was a high-end touch I really appreciated. Menu Highlights: Taro Fritter: A sweet-textured appetizer inspired by Chinese desserts, topped with caviar and soy-pickled beets. It was a beautiful way to awaken the palate. Mackerel Crudo: As someone who isn't usually a fan of raw dishes, I was surprised by how much I loved this. It's light, perfectly acidic, and balanced with plum, ponzu, and apple. Grilled Sunchoke: This was "rustic elegance" in a bowl. The smell alone is incredible, and the combination of ginger crab and shellfish butter is pure comfort. Smoked Duck: Topped with black winter truffle and caramelized onions in a gochujang sauce--absolutely excellent cook and presentation. Braised Beef Cheek: So tender you can skip the knife and just use your fork. Since I forgot to BYOB, I tried their house-made Luck & Love hibiscus drink. It's hands-down the best hibiscus tea I've ever had--I actually tried to buy one to-go, but they only make enough for dine-in guests! It's a fantastic spot to bring friends or loved ones, though I'd recommend arriving early. The parking lot is extremely tight, so you might need to look for space in the lot next door.

A short walk later, I found myself at Destination Dogs, a place I had seen in photographs that suggested capaciousness. In reality, it is smaller.  This is not a complaint, just an observation.  I remember once hearing something about the contents of small packages. At 12:30 the place was full. Packed with humanity and appetite. I was seated quickly, as if someone had anticipated my hunger in advance. From the bar came the sound of construction crews discussing their midday rituals. Apparently this is where they come on Fridays, to repair themselves while they repair the city. It explained everything. Service was swift and attentive, a minor miracle given the crowd. I began with a Scotch egg, an item that seemed to have wandered in from another story entirely. I ordered it for that reason. I had always imagined my first Scotch egg would be eaten in an English pub under low ceilings and older regrets. Instead, here it was. Perfectly crisp, warm, and generous. The universe does not ask for permission. Then came the main event. The menu is an atlas of hot dogs. Domestic. International. Proteins in tube form arranged like possibilities. There is even an invitation to build your own, which I accepted. I attempted to recreate a favorite from Crif Dogs, a thing called the Spicy Redneck. Bacon wrapped dog. Pickled jalapenos. Coleslaw. Simple in theory. Destination Dogs improved upon it in every way that matters. The bacon crisped with purpose. The jalapenos spoke clearly. The coleslaw behaved. The hot dog itself seemed proud to be there. All of this, plus a 16 ounce beer, cost me about twenty five dollars with tip. A small price for order in a chaotic universe. Five stars. Not because perfection exists, but because this comes close enough to make the argument.

Service was awesome, walked in 2 mins before happy hour and the waiter took our beer order in record time. He was also very attentive during our entire meal. I ordered the Andouille Armstrong and it was my fav, great snap on the dog and all the flavors complimented each other great, I also had the Si Si Guey, wasn't my favorite but wasn't horrible, I wasn't a fan of the chorizo, I felt the toppings made this hot dog. As for ambiance, it's a bar, has TV, liquor, beer, etc., but clean. If I was local I'd be a regular!
