Glatt Mart is a kosher marketplace. In other words, everything in the store is kosher. They have a large produce section with lots of fruits and veggies. The lemons I bought are super juicy which I love for cooking! Their pre-washed lettuce and herbs are very helpful when preparing meals at home. Prices here are reasonable. The staff was very accommodating in helping me find what I needed whether it was finding the celery in the produce department or finding out what aisle the eggs were in. I only did a quick shopping trip so I didn't visit any of the counters so I can't comment on the prepared food. I had a concerning experience at this establishment regarding the use of an EBT card. I was charged an additional fee in connection with my grocery purchase, and the charge appeared to be processed as part of the grocery transaction. My understanding is that SNAP/EBT customers should not be charged additional retailer fees through their SNAP benefits. I believe this practice should be reviewed to ensure it complies with applicable EBT/SNAP regulations.I encourage other EBT customers to carefully review their receipts and verify that they are not being charged unauthorized fees. I got the large sushi platter for a party- its beautifully done, my big issue with it was that it was wayyyy too california-roll heavy. Majority of rolls were California rolls and even the 'specialty rolls' had California roll on the inside and some tuna or salmon on top- but still, it was disappointing. read more

I really hate to write such a bad review given that this is a kosher market that serves people in the community. Mike and the employees that work there have no empathy or customer service. A few days before Purim, I went into Glatt Mart to buy date spread to make hamantaschen's. When I got home I noticed the spread expired two years ago. I figured no big deal I have my receipt and this is a misunderstanding and I will exchange it. I came in the next day with my receipt in hand and told Mike, he and the other owner (a tall gentleman) both accused me that I kept the spread at my home for two years. I was both offended and mortified, I spent over $200 in the store the day before and you are accusing me of lying for a spread that cost $6. I left the store vouched to NEVER come back. Called in the morning and asked if they have pepper steak available. They said not right now, but will be ready at 10am. Arrived at 10:40 with my toddler but the pepper steak is not available and will take 30 minutes to make. Asked them if they can make it quicker since it is my baby's nap time and they yelled no, while they are packing chicken and doing other things. Unbelievably horrible customer service. Of note, when there was chicken breast shortage a few months ago, I saw with my own eyes that they had purchased many of the Costco empire chicken breasts and were repackaging as their own with a huge markup. Too bad they can provide awful service and mark up everything at any price they want all in the name of "Judaism" and providing kosher food. I went there for my grocery shopping, and when I came home and opened my food, several items were moldy (vegetarian liver, hummus, and several bags of pita)!! When I went back to Glatt to show them, the manager not only denied it but actually told me I was lying and blamed me for the mold. It was beyond bizarre, rude, terrible business, and just wrong. I bought 2 pounds cucumbers with lots of other groceries and the lady forgot to keep cucumbers in my bag after the payment. I called the manager Mike about missing item , he told me come next time I will see what I can do. I stopped by next day with receipt to take cucumbers but Mike was not there and he asked me to wait for 30 min or come other day and , he will check the cameras and see what he can do. I have shopped there for years, enjoying the sushi, prepared foods & produce prices. However, I WILL NEVER GO BACK THERE AGAIN!! I am contacting my friends, family & Nextdoor to ALERT THEM about Mike, the Store Manager/Owner! The week before Passover I was buying last minute items on Friday 4/8/2022. Upon putting the Passover items away @ home, I noticed a stickiness on one of the jars of duck sauce I purchased. Upon further inspection, the jar's lid had obviously been opened and it was a blackish color under the unopened lid, with a sticky residue on the jar. I brought the item back with my receipt, a few days later, asking for an "even exchange" as the product was defective. I simply wanted them to give me a new jar of sauce-- nothing else. While they were ringing up my other items, I asked to speak with the manager, to request the even exchange of the defective item, and my receipt from 3 days earlier. When I spoke with Mike while waiting in line to buy [yet another $100+ worth of food] he started raising his voice at me, refusing to exchange the defective product-- even refusing to even look at my jar that I had brought for him to see. He accused me of opening the product and "ruining it", as his store would never place a defective item on the shelf-- and how this was all my fault!! He kept raising his voice saying it was my fault and he would never even have defective products in his store! [you mean to tell me that ALL the thousands of Passover products he was selling, NONE of them were defective?] I continued to implore him, saying I simply wanted a new jar, as there was something clearly wrong with the one I had purchased a few days earlier (right before Shabbat- when everyone is hurrying in the afternoon!) He continued to yell at me and walked away without giving me the courtesy of viewing my receipt and seeing the sticky jar. In frustration, I said, "What the f**K?" He immediately ran over to me, spewing out his own vulgar comments with "Talk like a lady!!" He said he was calling his security to throw me out of the store!! I kept imploring him to be reasonable, saying I was only asking for an even exchange for a new jar. In ANY AMERICAN MARKET- you would NEVER have a manager mistreat and literally scream at a customer! They would simply want to see the receipt, take the item and exchange it. Period. Mike continued yelling at me (in front of all the customers) and then grabbed my basket full of bagged groceries-- took it to one of his employees, yelling for him to empty my cart! I was stunned and apologized for saying the f-word. However, he continued to scream at me to leave the store! I drove home in tears. I literally was crying and got under the covers, emotionally shaken by the experience! Sadly- NO ONE SAID ANYTHING while watching this abusive behavior from a store manager/owner!! In fact, the woman behind me said to "be quiet and buy the $4.99 new jar of duck sauce". Really? I wish I had called out if there was a rabbi in the store, who could see & hear what this man was doing to me!! Now that Passover is finished and his store has made THOUSANDS OF DOLLARS (on over-priced Passover products), I will be going back with a family member to speak with Mike, request the very same exchange and record the event...request an apology for the way he was volatile and verbally abusive and intimidating to a loyal customer! WARNING!!!! BE CAREFUL!!!! They sell Expired meat and chicken. Once when I opened the chicken package my whole kitchen smelled like corpses. Just yesterday I got a Greek cheese from them and it tasted like it had been soaked in acetone. When I checked the date was expired. Their rice, fries and chicken are excellent. They have a large selection of products from Israel. My Osem vanilla wafers were very good. This is one of the larger Kosher groceries in the area. The main negative here are the prices are much higher for some items like the kettle chips costing me $4 that goes for half that at nearby Ralph's. Me & "ethnic" grocery stores are a dangerous duo. I usually go in and buy shit that I don't know what to do with. But in shopping at Glatt Mart, I've pretty much found one of the places that I can shop at to replace the lame Trader Joe's that's near me. I mean, this is hummus heaven, but I came here especially to walk out with a nice tub of baba ganoush and kefir for myself and malawach for Fatty, which, one of the nice clerks helped us out in finding. I made a quick stop in today, but I'm be ready to return, shop til I drop, then go home, sit in my kitchen and go "now what?". The minus of this place? This market is great!The customer service here has been awesome for me:) The kabobs are so good! I like that I can shop for groceries and the hot food section has me covered should I not want to cook. My faves are the beef kabobs, and for $5.99 you get a gang of food. The woman working back there is super sweet.. She lets u sample a few items before making your selection- which is perfect for a person like me who loves trying new foods. They have an extensive deli and butcher area. Another thing I love is their produce prices!! Very inexpensive! Unbelievable. I go to grab a lunch from the deli and they are so cheap with giving me food that I am paying for. I get the chicken teriyaki and they barely put any meat. If you ask for more they say they have to charge you??? I am paying for the food! They barely gave me any rice. Rice is cheap... hello! They gave me salad like they are doing me a favor! Pretty much the same review for Elat market. Seriously, just combine the businesses, make it easy for everyone! This place has the bigger deli and seafood selection. The other place has better shelve items. I compared the price of the same brand of Quinoa, and this had the cheaper price. But it's a small sample size. So don't go off of just that. Cannot emphasize the rudeness and callousness of the managerial staff, especially Mike. Recently I pointed out that something wasn't kosher and on the shelf. I think one star is overly generous for this place. Quality of their poultry & meat is what food poisoning nightmares are made of. They violate every food safety code you can think of.... to make matters worse, the manager and every single cashier at this place must go through some sort of training because there is no way they could all be so overly aggressive and rude. DO NOT Shop at this place and do not believe the five star reviews. This place robs you blind. What's even worse, is that they have a despicable human being as a manager to do their dirty deed, by insulting and screaming, if anyone should dare to point out their dishonest ways. SHAME on the owners of this place. I took my mom grocery shopping here today. She's a senior citizen with Alzheimer's disease so she's very easily taken advantage of. She had a full shopping cart worth of items including a bag of grapes And about seven very small Donut peaches. In both cases, the items were placed in areas where there were no price tags for the items. Everything else around had price tags except for these items. It is obvious to anyone who has a brain that they are trying to get away with overcharging. Once we got to the register I tried to look at the price of all the items but the monitor is placed, (very conveniently) Behind the cashier and it's very much away from the customer, so it makes it very difficult to see how much each item costs. Of course, this is another red flag. Once we got the receipt and walked out of the store, I realized that they had charged $7.99 per pound for the donut peaches. I am not kidding or making this up. They had charged my mom almost $12 for less than a pound and a half of donut peaches. This is as expensive as chicken and beef. They had also charged over $13 for a bag of grapes. You don't even see these prices at Whole Foods for organic produce. When I took back these items, the Manager was so nasty, aggressive and would not reimburse the cost of the items. He said they can only offer store credit. As if I will ever be shopping at this store again. His main concern was that the other customers at the store do not hear me. They obviously want to hide these kinds of dishonest practices. He kept on blaming everything on my mom and I for not looking at prices or asking about prices. I had to take him to the item to show him that there was no price tag for the items. He continued to spew out profanities and was completely disgusting in the way he treated us. To the owners of this place, at some point you'll have to look in the mirror and be able to live with who you are and what you are doing in the name of Religion! A fun atmosphere to purchase exotic middle east food. Lots of unique choices. Also a great place to get whole fish, meats, cheeses. I am vegan, but my family likes to eat these foods.
