    Sabich vegetarian platter
    Laurie B.

I will put up with a tiny parking lot, crowds of hungry ppl, and long waits to get anything at Dr Sandwich. My go-to is the Vegetarian Sabich plate that comes with hot fluffy pita, fried eggplant, and your choice of as much as the server can pile into the 3-compartment takeout platter. I typically get the creamy hummus with Tahina and whole marinated garlic cloves, the Israeli chopped salad, grilled onions, grilled zucchini, cucumber and onion salad, and of course, the eggplant. It's enough for three meals! You can eat in or takeout, but I bring it home and divide it into storage containers for the rest of the week. Highly recommended.

Yelp cancelled the order after 20 minutes!! Horrible experience!

First of all the ordering process using the Yelp app went fine and I placed our full order thru Yelp, it was roughly going to be a 30-45 minute wait for delivery. After 15 minutes Yelp contacted me thru text and said the order is cancelled!! WTF! Why such a delay in notification??!! Starting to be a bad experience but my cousin who wanted Kosher food and highly recommended this restaurant plus I always looking for places I havn't tried I figured I'll order another way. My cousin using ChowNow which does not charge the restaurants these enormous fees!! I downloaded the ChowNow App and ordered without a problem!! I'm going to post the pic of the cancellation order from Yelp!! Now on to the food order from Dr. Sandwich. We ordered as a starter Hummus Masabcha Plate: Garbanzo beans, Tahini, onion sumac, parsley, spicy lemon, olive oil, cumin. Also comes with sliced egg which I didn't see listed on the menu. Very good Ordered it with a couple orders of Pita. Fried Cauliflower that was light. Marrakesh Salad: Chicken breast with harisca, Israeli salad, marinated onions, white cabbage, eggplant, parsley, lemon, and olive oil vinaigrette, garlic confit, topped with tahini. Chicken Schnitzel Pita: Thinly pounded chicken breast. And it was fried to a perfect crunch!! Beef Kebab Plate: Ordered it with Rice, red cabbage, Israeli salad, beet salad and tahini. Also highly recommend Schug as a side sauce!!!! It is a little spicy but so flavorful and good!! Overall everything was very good. Have to try going in to the restaurant next time!

    Freshly made while you wait.

I've always seen a buzz around this place so today I went to check it out. Parking in front and also you can usually park on Doheny Dr. nearby for an hour. They make fantastic fresh chicken and beef shawarma and probably the best falafel wrap (in a tortilla) that I've had in Los Angeles. You can even get a "sabich" here (a sandwich stuffed with fried eggplant, hard-boiled egg, hummus with tahini sauce). It's busy and loud inside but I really like their terrace outside if you want to eat on site. Super popular with the Pico-Robertson neighborhood locals (and they are picky!) so you know it's good. They really take care making the sandwiches; I watched the kitchen assemble my falafel tortilla wrap and it was beautifully put together. On fridays they make a "chicken schnitzel" challah bread...would love to try that. There are some "Dr. Tortilla" wrap specials that also look delicious. Try the malabi cream with rose for dessert.

All the Mediterranean flavors you'd expect, whether it's in a pita or on a plate, the food is fresh and well prepared. A good variety to choose the sides you'd like and build the perfect meal. Ordered at the cashier counter and then moved to the assembly line, I got the chicken shawarma with rice, eggplant, cauliflower and salad. Was very tasty. Thahini and amba sauces are complimentary. Portion was substantial and enough for leftovers. place is casual with no particular decor but pleasant enough to sit and eat in house. Price is slightly on the higher side in my opinion. free parking in front.

Dr. Sandwich is a popular fast-casual kosher Israeli food destination. My go-to order is the falafel plate. It is one of the vegan/vegetarian options on the menu. Their falafels are always very flavorful and never dry. You can choose the sides you like. I always get hummus as my dipping sauce for the falafels. I add some tahini and chickpeas in the middle and sprinkle some red seasoning on top. It comes with a few other sides as well to fill up the plate. They also give you a pita. It's a large serving and usually lasts me at least two days. I almost always order take-out here. The ambiance is very casual. I think it's a nice place to dine solo during non-busy times. This is a small restaurant and it can get very crowded and loud during peak hours and on Sundays. Service has been mixed when I've come here. However, there is one guy at the counter who is an absolute doll and always makes my order extra special. I'm always so happy when he's the one preparing my order. Located in a mini mall with parking. However, during peak hours it can be hard to find a space.

This place has gone downhill, the quality of their service and food has changed. The shawarmas are very salty, specially their chicken. The employees behind the counter serving the food act like zombies, arguing and doing their own thing. There are definitely other options with better prices. Very disappointing since it used to be one of my favorite places to dine in or get the food to go.

I would give this place 10 Stars if possible!…read more A real hidden gem in Beverly hills and I would highly recommend going here! A very exclusive Brunch menu but everything was a major hit! HUMMUS MASBACHA 10/10 was so smooth! Really flavorful and everyone wanted more of this! This was a vegetarian option which came with some chickpeas and a boiled egg on top. Just a heads up in case you don't eat egg that you should ask to take it off. PITA BREAD - This game with the hummus and it was perfectly warm and toasted and soft on the inside and crispy and the outside and just a mind-blowing pita bread! CHARRED EGGPLANT 9/10 was really soft and had a mild sweet flavor. It was cold which I was a little surprised by, but it went well with the warm Pita that came with the hummus! Only reason I took off a point is because it felt a little oily and it was the only item that didn't get fully wiped off the plate. CAULIFLOWER FLORETS 10/10 So flavorful and I think this might have been the family's favorite on the menu because it just disappeared. BREAKFAST BURRITO with FALAFEL 11/10 My in-laws don't eat meat or egg and wanted a proper vegetarian item for breakfast and we asked to customerize the burrito by replacing the eggs and bacon with falafel. Father in the thought he would not eat any of the burrito but ended up actually finishing his half of it! The restaurant needs to add this as an item on the menu! SHAKSHUKA with MERGUEZ SAUSAGE 10/10 What are really delicious and hearty breakfast item here. Husband and I shared this one and it was really flavorful and a good portion size as well. Good amount of sausage in there that went with the egg and the tomato sauce. JERUSALEM BAGEL - 12/10 This game along with the shakshuka and I think everyone on the table wanted more of it! It was actually warm and so huge and had that perfect crisp outside and a really lovely flavor. Cannot say enough good stuff for this one. SHUK SALAD with CHICKEN BREAST 10/10 Just a simple and healthy salad here but I would highly let the money if you want to balance out some of the heavy items on the menu but still get some vegetables and protein in. We did not use any of the dressing.

What happened to Nua???…read more It used to be a hidden gem; a warm, welcoming restaurant with exceptional food, genuine family-like service, and generous, satisfying portions. All of that is gone. The food is unrecognizable. The Israeli breakfast looked like a sad box lunch. The shook salad was essentially a bowl of arugula with a few stray vegetables hiding somewhere inside. And the famous Hummus Masabaha, once a signature dish worth returning for, has been reduced to a small cup of garbanzo beans with a drizzle of olive oil and a single egg, at less than half the size it used to be. I will not be returning, and I cannot recommend this place to anyone who remembers what it once was. Bring back the real Nua!

Salmon Tartare (1/5): The 1 mark gives to the freshness of it but that's pretty much it. Comes with wavy lays chips to pair but its lack of seasoning, had to order salt to make it edible. Ceviche (2/5): Taste slightly better than the salmon tartare, but this dish is more of a salad to me than a ceviche. It's not even about being fusion or not, barely could find any meat inside. It has a unique taste, it has grapes inside (that ties to the Greek cuisine). This thing just tastes like an Asian (Shanghainese) salad with a sprinkle of meat with some touch of grapes. Octopus (3.9/5): Probably the best thing we had in here. Nicely grilled, comes in slices instead of full piece of octopus leg. Easy to serve. SERVICE AND AMBIENCE Service is attentive, it's alright. Ambience is fine, but not one of a kind with the mediocre food. Indoor decor is cool but there's no live performances or anything special enough for me to eat their underwhelming food. Should've went to omakase or the Italian restaurants next door instead of this place. Food is very mediocre that I think it's only worth it to come here for lunch, I wouldn't even bother to reserve a table for this place. Most disappointing fine dining restaurant in Beverly Hills. Nothing is luxury here except the price point. I was very excited when I look through the menu and the variety of food choice, turns out everything is mediocre at best.

We made a reservation on their website which offered options later than what we chose. We chose 10pm. Upon arrival the host was having a conversation with another host and an employee. They didn't acknowledge us and we had to interrupt saying we had a reservation and gave the name on our reservation. They continued the conversation and didn't even make eye contact with us. The host grabbed menus and said right this way, still holding that conversation. We were seated and waited 11 minutes before the waitress came. She came and was not friendly at all. She explained that the kitchen and bar was closing and we needed to put everything in now. Which if we would have known from the very start we would have just went somewhere else, but they also charge your card to book a reservation. We put in our drinks and what we wanted to eat. She explained we would need to order multiple drinks now if we wanted them otherwise the bar is also closed. I've never been to an establishment where the bar closes at the same time as the kitchen. So we got two drinks each (of the same drink). We got one appetizer before the drinks came out. Half way through eating the drinks arrived, but we were confused why we got sent both of the drinks at the same time. We were under the impression we would order them and once we got the first one and tried it they would bring the other shortly after. My drink was horrible and tasted like a desert that was served with stale churros. The other two drinks were watered down already and it was frustrating feeling like you need to chug your drinks.. this is an upscale restaurant not a bar. We asked to talked to the manager and the server came instead to see what the issue was. We explained our confusion and expressed that we have never had drinks come at the same time, typically you order it, but you wait to bring the next one out since it'll water down or if you don't like it now you can't cancel it. I also explained to her I didn't like my drink and now I have two of them with stale churros before I even have a meal. She offered my partners second drink to me instead of offering another drink and took away my drinks + the churros. The manager came and immediately had said that he heard we were unhappy with the drinks, they're closing and he would comp them no problem, didn't ask us what was wrong or give us time to speak and was trying to walk away.... I interjected and said we should have been told by the host you were closing otherwise we wouldn't have sat down. My partner also interjected and said that there was later times on the reservation so it didn't make sense. The manager blamed the company and said they have been asking for online to be updated because it does not reflect their hours, but they won't fix it. I explained regardless of an online issue it should have been addressed by the host and those 11 minutes waiting we could have already had a drink. He had nothing more to say and rushed off which was also frustrating to not be heard at all. We kept waiting for our food. It was now almost midnight we were waiting for 40 minutes. I have watched our surrounding and noticed other waitresses still serving couples their drinks after we had been told the bar was closed. I also noticed no one else was being rushed out the way we were. The manager came up and said they forgot to put in the food and tossed a business card on the table stating the next time it was on him and to not worry about it and expressed he was sorry, but was still rushing away. Mind you other people were still enjoying their drinks and sitting. So we left with no food and wasted over an hour of our time since we do not live in the Hollywood area and drove specifically for this restaurant. It was too late to get a reservation anywhere else and we ended up having to get fast food. Overall ambiance is excellent, however not worth it. I think restaurants get too much hype online then stop trying to give excellent customer service.

I put my thumbs-up and it was unanimous: Sunnin Lebanese Cafe on Westwood Blvd. and Santa Monica Blvd. it was. Well, I never heard of this place, but I said "let's Go"! When we pulled up to this strip mall entrance that was overflowing with human beings wanting a table at very happy this very we had a RESY. We ordered: * Hummus of course - which was delicious * Babaganouj - which was creamy and extremely dippicle [sic] * Beef Kafta Kebab - just lovely * Taboulah Salad - that was excellent * Fool or Ful depending on what Mideast country - was deepened with fava beans * Alamaza Lebanese beer that paired perfectly with our dinner. Tear off some pita, scoop up some of the dips, and embrace the delicious small bites. Stuffed Squash and Eggplant: You can get either squash or eggplant, or both. I prefer the squash. The zucchini is firm, just soft enough, but still with the perfect amount of structure. It has been hollowed out and stuffed with ingredients similar to a dolma (stuffed grape leaf). The filling of rice and ground beef is soft. The eggplant is much softer. They are cooked in a tomato sauce and served with a cool creamy yogurt. Babaganouj: This mezze is a roasted eggplant dip. The eggplant is mashed with tahini and lemon juice for a smoky and slightly bitter flavor. It's smooth, creamy, and a bit chunky. Parking: There's a little lot to the side. There's also metered street parking on Westwood Blvd.
