I discovered Habayit during my COVID walks. I'm a big fan of felafels and I have to tell you these are arguably the best I've ever had!!crunchy. Tasty. Great hummus. Some green herbaceous and very spicy condiment that is SO GOOD!!!! They are just getting by so do yourself AND THEM a favor, go get takeout!! You'll be SO happy you did!! I'm going today for lunch! I've been waiting to visit LA to try this spot for a long time. We had the kebab sandwich, falafel sandwich and hot dog sandwich for my boys. Everything was fresh and delicious. The young man who served us was very pleasant. The dining area is small, it seems to be more of a take out place. I hope to come back again before we go read more

I was craving for a good middle eastern food... I looked for a kosher place in the west side of LA and habayit popped out right away... I ordered the beef kebab... it was so juicy, fresh and delicious. The owner gave a couple of falafel to try on the house... no words can describe!!!!! Thank you habayit... Having tried the majority of mediterranean food on the Westside, Habayit is my #1 choice for sandwiches (goodbye Bay Cities). The falafel sandwich is a well executed classic. Everything tastes so fresh I would have thought they had a garden in the back. As someone who is picky about falafel, Habayit does it right. The outside has the right crispness while the inside tastes fresh - not dry at all. For an adventurous vegetarian option, I recommend the Sabih which is a mixed of hard boiled eggs, fried eggplant, hummus and veggies. A light yet energizing option that hits the spot. We wanted to like this place so bad based on the reviews... but it's completely over priced and mediocre. Absolute robbery. The best part is their pita bread. Otherwise, the $25 underwhelming grilled chicken schnitzel was burnt, dry and had no flavor, and the $16 "large" matzoh ball soup is by all standards small, comes with one tiny matzoh ball and the soup was full of little chicken bones. I'm sitting here wondering what the hell just cost us $90. Super disappointing. read more

This is the best Mediterranean place on the west side and kosher doesn't get much better than that. The daughter and father combo make the best kebab falafel balls and have the fluffiest pita. Tried and true, never misses. When we had to go to the ER for an unexpected medical emergency on NYE, we were craving comfort food after the ordeal. Not only were they open but they had food ready for us in 10 min. That post-ER matzah ball soup turned the whole day around. read more

Unfortunately, the proprietors have elected to use a hechsher that is far from universally accepted, leaving many observant Jews unable to eat here. There is no judgment whatsoever of anyone who chooses to eat here; just suggesting you ask your local Orthodox (or Conservative) rabbi first. read more

Service- Decent but that's about as much as I can say about it. The Place- pretty small and they did not have the air conditioning on the day I was there and it was pretty hot. Food- I had the Combination Salad and it was pretty good. Parking- Can be challenging as the parking lot is small and shares with other businesses. I have to find parking in the neighborhood and walk over. read more

Their location off an unassuming area of Pico Blvd., in a sleepy strip mall, is still unassuming. The food on repeat visits tho... hasn't matched up to the first visit's mind-blowingly good beef kebab. In particular the grill combo plate was pricey and decidedly underwhelming. Consistency is the hallmark that's difficult to achieve for a lot of places, and as superb as Habayit is capable of being, they aren't always on their A-game. 3.5 stars, but I will round up. read more

Our table was lit very brightly, while some of the other tables looked much more dimly lit and intimate. Our server was great, and the sommelier was wonderful as well. We went with wine pairings throughout our meal, starting with a splash of sparkling white wine. HUMMUS DUCK 'NDUJA (tahini, parsley, cilantro, sumac, blistered pita)10/10. This was DELICIOUS. The texture and flavors were everything. SILKY smooth hummus with that fatty, deep flavor from the duck 'nduja. My goodness, I would like to drink it. The warm pita that came with it was pillowy soft and perfect for scooping everything up. Amazing dish. I would order this every single time, hands down. DRY AGED TROUT CRUDO (coconut citrus broth, charred chill & onion, mandarinquat, turmeric ginger oil, kaffir lime) 8/10. Crudo was yummy with the coconut citrus sauce. I had the Chicken Shawarma Pita. they don't have beef Shawarma in their menu for some reason meat quality was very low, slimy and left a bad after taste in my mouth. I liked the hot sauce "Sourek". Over all the Pita sandwich was over priced at $10.50 and $2.50 for a can of coke. It took 10-15 minutes just to seat us, even though there were clearly open tables. They didn't even have a hookah menu, so we had no idea what flavors or options they offered. After finally ordering, one hookah took about 45 minutes to arrive. Later, we ordered just fries and a bottle of water. After waiting over 30 minutes, neither had arrived. Meanwhile, we watched customers who came after us receive multiple plates of food. We finally gave up, paid, and left. When we mentioned the wait, the server had the audacity to say, "You just ordered the fries." It had already been over 30 minutesand what about the bottle of water?
