    Cobb Salad
    Natalie S.

Delicious food. Traditional deli foods that remind me of my childhood. Service was attentive and accurate. We asked to taste a soup or chili and it was enough for us both to determine if we wanted more. Take out was also good. I ordered the Cobb salad and the presentation was lovely. Delicious dressing. I couldn't finish it in one sitting and the left overs were great the next day.

Ordered the BBQ sandwich and it was very good. The coleslaw was excellent and I am not a big fan of coleslaw. Young man working the counter was very nice. I will definitely come back.

SCHWARTZ DELI & BBQ!!! Exciting stuff! They are now in the soft opening phase but they're already hitting it out of the park. They are going for an old-school deli as well as authentic barbecue. They are still tweaking stuff but as far as I'm concerned they got the brisket on point. I got it in a sandwich and it was fantastic. Juicy with that great smoky flavor, and wow do they pack it on. That's what I'm talking about! Talking about packing it on, check out the pastrami. We're talking old-school, overstuffed, like I haven't seen in I don't know how long. It's a true old-school New York deli experience. This is hand carved with love. Nothing shrink-wrapped here, but brined and prepared in-house. It was fantastic even though it was on the lean side and they say they're working on a fattier naval pastrami which, I'm telling you now, is going to be off da hook! If you want to stay on the healthy side but still want good barbecue, check out their cauliflower steak with pulled beef. Very nice! You've got some great apps inside as well, such as very flavorful fire poppers with both a great herb blend on the coating as well as a great sauce. I always say, if a place makes their own onion rings you've got to get them, and these do not disappoint. You're also going to want to try their pulled beef and pastrami egg rolls. So that's it for now but I can't wait to go back to try the real stuff such as the Dinoribs, lamb etc. Stay tuned! They are now open from 12-8PM. 8820 West Pico Blvd. Check it out!

I love the array of picnic foods, snacks, and drinks available, as well as the regular sandwich and salad menu. I don't think I've ever gotten anything else besides the melanzane (eggplant) panini. My husband loves their pizza, but we always forget which days they fire up the pizza oven in the back area. When I moved to LA the following year, it became the "hidden gem" spot we would take out-of-town guests. We love the lush greenery, running water fountains, and Edison lights in the back area. It makes you feel as if you are in someone's backyard and can cozy up to work or read a book. It is wild to see how quickly they've expanded in the past three years, particularly with Airbnbs within the space. With that though, it has generated a crowd and impacted our past couple experiences there: getting a seat/table has become increasingly difficult (if you're more than a party of 2), even though I know they've been trying to expand seating options and tried implementing a "no laptop" policy so there might be more table turnovers. But I'm so glad their business is booming, they deserve it :)

I got the chai latte and a hummus bowl with falafel (though as I write this I can't remember if that was the actual menu name of the dish). It was delicious--the falafel was one of the best I've ever had taste wise, and a bit on the airy side instead of being super dense, which I appreciated. Sometimes falafel is too dang dry, and they really got it right. The hummus was phenomenal. I'm really such a sucker for a good, quality hummus and it was so creamy and the oil they topped it with was wonderful too. The combination of friendship and delicious dishes delivered by Almost famous was soul-warming. Metered street parking only unfortunately, but service at the restaurant was excellent. Staff were friendly, courteous, patient, and were happy to go through the menu and make recommendations. You can tell they take pride in their dishes offered. They will check-in enough to ensure everything with the dining experience is going well, but not too frequently to impede on privacy. They have a breakfast/lunch (brunch) menu that they serve from 8am up until 2pm and a dinner menu that is available from 11am to 2pm & 5pm to 9:30pm. 1. Ginger & Cardamom Chai Latte (5/5) House-made chai with ginger and cardamom. If you like herbal spices, this drink was comforting and warming. It's not sweet, which I like and it paired well with the food dishes. 2. Crab Bhuna (4.75/5) Crab meat simmered in fragrant spices then topped with ginger, fennel seed, and curry leaves. It is served with soft, subtly sweet banana buns The crab meat was fresh and honestly, you couldn't even tell it's crab. It's seasoned perfectly with the aromatic Indian spices. The banana buns were interesting ... it was a bit on the dry side, but if you stuffed the airy pockets of the bun with the crab meat, it's not too bad. The banana bun had an interesting flavor profile; a mix of sweet-bitterness to it. 3. Sweet Potato Chaat (5/5) One of my favorite dishes here. It is sweet potato chunks mixed with a sauce blend of sweet corn, yogurt, tamarind, mint chutney and pomegranate. The sauce was light, refreshing, and tangy, balancing the natural sweetness of the sweet potato perfectly. 4. Brunch Dosa Rice & Lentil Crepe (4.75/5) Basically think of a crepe, but a super large size one. I just love their crepe - it was crispy yet doughy with a cheesy flavor. The crepe was stuffed with turmeric mashed potatoes. I typically do not like mash potatoes, but when it's served this way, I approve. The dish comes with a side of 3 sauces - sambar (lentil-based vegetable curry that's often seasoned with coriander seeds, cumin, fenugreek, dry red chilies), curry, coconut and tomato chutney. A perfect dish for sharing and for trying out the various flavors of Indian cuisine. 5. Wagyu Beef Keema Kulcha (4.5/5) Minced Wagyu beef that's seasoned well with aromatic spices and onion inside an Indian leavened flat bread. Highly recommend and will be back to try out other dishes!
