Wow! This food is amazing! My son brought some home today. We live far away and by the time the food got to me, did it cooled off to the point where no other meal would still be enjoyable. I'm having the steak with white rice and honey lemon seasoning. The dish looks simple enough. Some rice some steak and a salad on the side. This is salad dressing is bonkers! It's so good! I don't know what kind of steak this is, but it's soft and juicy like a skirt steak and this is after it's been cooling for an hour and a half as my son made his way home. If this stuff is this good when it's cold, I can't imagine how good it is when it's just prepared. And the price is extremely reasonable for the quality and quantity of food you get. Glaze is one of my favorite places to eat! There is a location near my job, and I was wandering through Brooklyn and my bf and I found this location and decided to stop in. The first thing I noticed was the decor in the restaurant was so much nicer than the location I normally go to. It looked very modern. This was my first time ordering from Glaze teriyaki. The food was ready promptly and freshly. I ordered some Pork dumplings and chicken breast with extra spicy sauce and brown rice. The brown rice was very good nice and sticky like Japanese rice should be. The dumplings were crispy and fresh and the pork inside the dumplings was delicious and very flavorful. The salad that comes with it with the Sesame dressing was pretty good to I'd probably try a different dressing for me next time. The extra spicy sauce was great. I'm always a big fan of things with good spice and the extra spicy sauce hit all the right spots for me. You could see the bits of chili that the sauce was made out of and the spice was perfect. As for the portion the portion was great for the price especially for a to go portion. It was perfect size for a lunch time meal and the fact that it's so close to my job makes it even better for me. The concept here is rather simple, as all good takeout places should be. It's teriyaki, which comes either as just veggies, tofu, salmon or chicken. The salmon is probably the best deal, a nice piece of fish. Everything comes with a well-dressed salad and white or brown rice. (The super health conscious can ditch the rice, but my friend wasn't sure this left here with more vegetables than everyone else). The space is minimalist and inviting, a series of small tables and a long shared counter in the middle. The food is well-presented, tasty and even comes with a series of La Croix. I've been dying to try this spot and today was the day. I ordered the salmon bowl with rice and salad with carrot ginger dressing and my boyfriend ordered the fried pork gyoza and the steak teriyaki bowl. I should have went with my gut and got the steak but I always go for salmon I don't know why lol . That steak was so tender and flavorful. Their teriyaki sauce itself is so good so anything convered in it would be amazing. I'm obsessed with carrot ginger dressing so the salad didn't disappoint. The dumplings were flavorful although I think we got chicken instead of pork. My only criticism would be the gyoza sauce needed a tad more acid it was too soy heavy and there was too much rice. Next time I might just get a salad with the protein it was that good and the skins of the dumplings were really good definitely homemade not too thick. I also wish there was an option even with an up charge to do a steak/salmon combo plate because it gives you the option to order a combo with all proteins, but that combo . Have only had take out twice and both times I've been happy. Your food comes perfectly packaged and the portions don't seem like they are smaller because it's take out. Price for the portion you get is reasonable and you won't be hungry after. The grilled chicken is really good BUT the steak is marinated so well and is so tender it is mouth watering!! All the "glazes"are good, proceed with caution with even the least spicy option though...it is hot but not overwhelming. I was walking around Lexington for lunch and saw a people walking with a Glaze bag. I was curious on what they serve and found my way to the store. It smell really good as you immediately walk in. I order the bowl and selected salmon as my main and rice. It came with a side salad as well. It took them less than 5 minutes to prep. They also have additional sauces on the side near the pick up station. In addition, the space was relatively clean and spacious. I had the misfortune of trying to eat at Glaze this evening. After arriving at 7:45pm and having our order taken, my wife and I waited for over an hour while never getting the food we purchased. During our wait the employees served two couples who came in well after we arrived. The staff didn't seem to know what they were doing. They spent most of their time complaining of being swamped with internet orders, yet two of the male employees stood by aimlessly. The other two employees tried, yet it was clear they had no system in place to fulfill orders. Every 15 mins the cashier who took my order continued to assure us, "your order is next". However our order never came. After giving them over an hour to fill our order I asked the cashier to credit me my money as I could not wait any longer. It was during this time the a young lady from the kitchen asked me what my order name was and after I gave it to her she did not have my order in front of her. It's essentially a DigIn/Chipotle style fast casual restaurant featuring bowls compromised of a base, protein and salad. They also have a variety of "glazes" and salad dressing choices. I found my bowl to be well portioned, and the ratios of everything seemed fine. Price wise it's ok- similar to other fast-casual restaurants that are health conscious. The one star off is for the edamame, it came covered in a dry powder seasoning that gave a chalky texture and bitter flavor-yuck.
