I took my Jeep to get a oil Chang... they did not ask what type of oil I use. They placed the wrong type of oil in my jeep, and I noticed it was driving different. I took it back to have them to look at it and to change the oil they sabotage underneath my jeep and I have pictures and proof of what was done. They tried to say that I had an oil leak which I did not have an oil leak prior to bringing it to them to get the oil change but after my oil change leaking, I do not recommend any Jeep owner to use Glendale auto‼ read more

I mean, no one wants to have to have to go to an auto shop, but when you do, keep this place in mind! My alternator went out and they were able to get me in same day that I called and get me back up and running before they closed. We have 3 little kids so I was worried about being down a car for a day or two but they rushed to get it done and were FAR more reasonable than any of the other quotes I received (like $800 less). Recently, my car started making a strange noise every time I used my brakes, so I brought it into Glendale Automotive to check it out. They called me up and let me know I needed new brake pads and rotors. They told me it what it was going to cost and I immediately called my dad to see if that was a good deal. He informed me it wasn't so I decided to call around and look for a better deal. I consistently was getting better prices than what they offered me so I decided to go pick up my car and have it serviced somewhere else. I have never experienced worse customer service in my life than that day. I very politely informed the man at the desk I would be taking my business elsewhere and he not only continued to ask where I was taking it but then starting bashing and making fun of the place I was taking it to (who was willing to do the job for nearly half the cost). He started trying to negotiate but was still offering prices hundreds of dollars more than what the other place was willing to do it for. Finally, he told me there would be a charge for not using them. I suspected there would be but they charged $150 to confirm what I already believed was wrong with the car and this man continued to be nasty and tell me how I wouldn't have gotten charged for them to look at it if I had used them. All in all, had he treated me better I probably would've changed my mind and let them service my car rather than be charged the $150 and hassle of having to take it elsewhere, but under no circumstance would I give my business to someone who treated me like that. The funniest part of it all is they have a sign saying there will be a $50 fee for customers who are nasty or have a bad attitude. I think they need to start charging themselves that fee. This week we had an emergency, it seems both headlight builds burned out at the same time! We discovered this at the worst possible time. ANOTHER terrific experience at Glendale Automotive. On a weekend road trip we noticed a rattling noise coming from under my car. Very concerned, I took it in first thing Monday morning without an appointment. They couldn't fit me in until the next week, but offered to take a look under the car just to see if they could diagnose the problem/if it would be safe to drive for a week. Turns out, it was a quick fix, and they pulled it into a bay and fixed it in 5 minutes (remember - I didn't have an appointment!) When I asked "how much do I owe you?" Absolutely outstanding service. I had radiator replaced June 2023 on my 2009 Jeep Wrangler by Glendale Automotive. Recently radiator developed a leak due to manufacturing defect. Jeep was at my long time local shop 3 miles from my home 120 miles north of Indy when leak discovered. I discussed problem with Fred (Glendale Automotive owner) and my desire to have shop here replace radiator. You know the old days, when you went to a garage and the guys there actually cared about your car? Do you know that those guys actually still exist! They are at Glendale Automotive. My SUV has been making a weird chugging noise for quite a while. I had not had the time to have it checked out, and I wanted to find a garage I could trust. When I called Glendale, Fred was able to see me right away. He rode in the car with me to check what I was talking about with the sound. He determined right away that I needed brakes, possibly both front and back. He assured me that he would call with an estimate before doing any work, and that it could be done in one day. Everything he promised was true, and more. I was so impressed with the speed and accuracy of his work, that I took our other car to him for a quick light fix. He completed that work in a timely and inexpensive manner as well. The care and concern that he showed me, along with the respect that I so appreciate makes this garage the one I will trust from now on. He also gave me a recommendation for a body shop to help knock out a ding on the front of my SUV. I've taken my car here before for work and was extremely impressed. This business is full of integrity and knowledge, and it shows. That's why I brought my car back today to get an estimate to have my belts replaced. The mechanic looked at the belts with me, and saw that one was literally falling apart. He didn't trust it to take me to work and back the rest of the week until their opening on Friday, so he sent me down the road a block to another shop he trusted. The mechanics there were frankly amazed that my belt hadn't fallen off yet and got me taken care of. This is a little story about finding and staying with the best garage in town. There is customer loyalty which is being honest to your customers, but their is also the kind of loyalty where you as a customer stay loyal to the place where you do business and this is the story of where that works to your benefit. I have a 2010 Subaru Forester that has now had more than one or two catalytic converters. I've only paid for one, but Fred has replaced this more than a couple times now at no cost. If I had been shopping around for the best prices in repair work, I would not have been able to go back and get this kind of work redone. Fred is always so easy to talk with regarding car repairs and maintenance and he explains what is needed and how much it will cost. He has taken care of 3 of our cars now and they have all been in the plus 100,000 range. I like to buy a car and keep it as long as possible and he has helped to make that happen. read more

I made an appointment bc of all of the great things I've heard about Glendale Automotive from friends and my only regret is that I didn't take my car here sooner. Took my car in bc I thought I needed realignment and my engine seemed to be driving funny. Naturally, I was nervous they would take advantage of the fact that I was a woman, who doesn't know much about cars, coming in on my own. I'm glad I was wrong. According to Steve, my tires did not need to be realigned and there was nothing wrong with my engine. He was honest with me, showed me the diagnostics, made some recommendations (was very knowledgeable on the specific year and model of my car) and then sent me on my way and did not charge me a dime for his time. I brought my car to Fred at Glendale because of the positive reviews I found online. He failed to fix my car, couldn't figure out what was wrong with it, and refused to return my money. I originally took my car to another shop, had diagnostics performed, and received an estimate based on a bad mass airflow sensor. The estimate struck me as being high, so I called around and sure enough, Fred said he could replace it for less money. What Fred didn't tell me was that he wasn't going to make ANY efforts to confirm the first shop's diagnosis. He didn't even bother asking who did the diagnosis until it was clear that it was wrong. Fred also waited until after it was clear he didn't fix my car to let me know that a mass airflow sensor appearing to have gone bad can signify a VARIETY of problems. Some professional. In his defense, when my car was displaying the exact symptoms after it was "fixed" and I took it back, he did make some efforts to make sure the part he put in wasn't bad. He also FINALLY performed some diagnostic tests!!! Unfortunately, not only did he not fix my car and keep my money, but he also couldn't tell me what was wrong. Maybe I just got unlucky and the positive reviews on here are a more accurate barometer for this shop, but all I know is that I'm out several hundred dollars and my car is still messed up. I'd advise you to go elsewhere. read more
