I've been coming here since Dr. John was Da Man. His passing was devastating to me. But his partner, Dr Gassia has done a wonderful job of keeping the practice flourishing. I'm a regular with Dr. Gassia but have seen Dr. Howard as well and they are both very professional and well trained and really good! I just had a massage with Jim yesterday and he was outstanding (he asked me to say that but it's true ). The other massage therapist is Jen and she is also excellent. I feel like I went to a different office than most of these reviewers. But as someone who went here based solely on yelp reviews, I feel it's only fair that I should give my experience to help others who may be considering it. I have a chronic illness called fibromyalgia. It is an illness that decreases a body's pain tolerance. Basically, if you have fibromyalgia, most things hurt more than they should. So perhaps that is the reason for my bad experience. However, I would expect chiropractors to know and understand fibromyalgia and proceed with extra gentleness when dealing with a patient who has it. My appointment was with Dr. Bob. He was a nice man, however the consultation felt pretty rushed compared to other chiropractors I've seen. I told him my problems, including how I have fibromyalgia, bulging discs, and spinal stenosis. He heard me out, but did not order any X-rays to my surprise. It seemed a bit scary to me to have someone work on me without checking my spine to make sure he wouldn't do any damage, but hey, the yelp reviews were great! So I let him go ahead with it. OUCH. Big mistake. I have been to chiropractors before. Some have helped, some have not. But I have NEVER had a chiropractor actually do adjustments that hurt. Uncomfortable, yes. But actual physical pain? That was a first. He did quite a few adjustments, and some of them he tried to do and nothing cracked, it just hurt as he twisted my body. He would then say "oh well, that's a tough one. We'll try again next time." After it was all done, he let me lie on a table with electromagnetic pulse therapy on my back. That was definitely my favorite part of the session. After it was done, he told me I might be sore for a day or so, but then I should start feeling better. I had chosen this office because I thought it would be great to talk to them about creating a wellness plan for myself that would include chiropractory, acupuncture, and massage. I wanted to speak to someone about figuring out a plan that would incorporate all those and really help my body to heal. He did not help much with this, and simply said to talk to the front desk to schedule appointments if I wanted acupuncture and/or massage. I was disappointed as I wanted someone to help me figure out the best individualized plan for my needs. I guess that is not something they offer. A day after the appointment, I was so sore I could not get out of bed. Sadly...this persisted for about a week. Overall, my appointment greatly increased my pain and I still do not feel I have fully recovered. Part of me wonders if I should go to Dr. Gassia and see if she can fix whatever was done to me, as I see most of the reviews on here are actually for her and not the chiropractor I saw. But the other part of me is terrified to have anyone else do chiropractory on my back after this experience. Especially someone who does not take the time to do X-rays to ensure they will not be doing any damage before doing any adjustments. The office was clean and the staff was extremely nice, which is why I give it 2 stars rather than 1 star. I hate leaving a bad review, but I feel in this case it is necessary to help other people who may have conditions similar to my own. Proceed with caution. read more

An excellent facility with Saturday hours to rival all area competitors. When my regular chiropractor was gone for the weekend conference (without leaving another doctor in her place!!), I was in a panic. I woke up with a stiff neck and shooting pain down my arm. I called all the other local chiro offices and no one could take a new patient--but they would all gladly see me on Monday. I couldn't wait two days in that much pain, so I changed tack and looked for an acupuncturist (they seem to have better hours on Saturdays). Lo and behold, Yelp brought me here. I was able to see both an acupuncturist (Katrina) AND a chiropractor (Dr. Gassia) as a walk-in on a Saturday. An hour and a half later, I was better than new. I am thrilled to have found Glendale Chiro Care. I got the special on Groupon as an introductory adjustment and 1 hour massage. I was hopeful, and they fulfilled all of my expectations plus more. I was treated by Dr. "Bob" Whittet who was great! I highly recommend him. I was massaged by Roomy, and it was the best deep tissue massage I have ever had. I started getting back pain at work due to a car accident I had from over a year ago and sitting 8+ hours a day on a desk computer wasn't helping. I went to my old chiro at first but realized I needed something more. I initially came here for their acupuncture and Cindy is really great at what she does. I then decided to have Dr Howard, their chiro, work on me as well. Couldn't have made a better decision. His methods are out of the ordinary and focuses directly on your pain. He is also extremely friendly and offers more than chiro care. He looks out for your overall health rather than a quick adjustment. Highly recommended! My wife and I had been seeing Dr. Chris Tosh while he was located at Glendale Chiro Care. After Dr. Tosh left to start his new practice, we went back to Glendale Chiro Care and began seeing Dr. Bob. As written by previous yelpers, we too felt extremely rushed. I agree with most everyone on this board in saying that the staff at GCC is very friendly, especially the "vitamin guy" (sorry, not so good with names)... but the one drawback was Dr. Bob. My experience with massage has been vast and adventurous, and I don't mean a good way. From accidentally befalling into rug'n' tugs, to scathy touchy feely people, to no english folks, and over priced spas, I finally settled on what is in heaven when I lucked out to meet Daneille as recommended by my insurance. I hate to give away my best kept secret for massage therapy but I got to give my props to where its deserved. She uses the correct amount of pressure and has this sixth sense about where my pains are and can feel out portions that I forget to mention. Typically I come out all doughy-eyed and my hair a big hot mess but damn I feel good and barely even notice what's really going on. And unlike most places where they reel you in and then when they got you start slackin. I too was a patient of Dr. John's for many years and was frankly a bit apprehensive about the transition at Glendale Chiro Care. I met with Dr. Gassia for an adjustment about a year ago and she is awesome! I'm so happy : ) I don't have serious back issues so for me I know if a chiropractor is good if they can "fix" the problem with one adjustment. And that is what she did! dr. gassia is absolutely wonderful. i went in with a whacked out spine last week and she gently and lovingly healed me. there was no automatic "xray" and "you have one leg longer than the other - no wonder you have problems" leading to the standard cookie-cutter electrical stim/adjustment routine! she customized it for me based on what was going on, and i am SOLD. she is truly caring and observant and holistic. i can't recommend her highly enough. sorry dr. varon (and sorry dr. jack who left and moved to agoura without telling me!). i have a FANTASTIC new chiropractor and i SING HER PRAISES. thank you gassia! read more

Okay So its not like to me write a review or even give credit when credit's due.. However, I was completely smitten by this office and all of its employees.. First and foremost the feel/atmosphere of Glendale Chiro Care is so warm (both in colors, design and cleanliness). Second all its staff make you feel like you are a regular. (Kinda like Cheers but instead of alcohol being served you get Neck and Back care).. Anoosh (I think thats how you say it ) was the receptionist who greeted me in person and even recognized my voice from the phone call I made the day before(talk about feel at home!) She had me fill some paperwork out and offered me coffee (which seems to always be avaialble! double score).. Dr. Gassia (the chiropracter that treated me) was UBER friendly.. She made me feel so comfortable in a) telling her my concerns of getting adjusted and b) venting to her about my horrible headaches and stress levels.. She just listened didnt even seem to bother her when I was going on my tangents..And her adjustments! UNBELIEVABLE.. I have never felt soooo good leaving any doctor's office.. My head and back feel great and no signs of a headache yet.. I was lucky to find this office and I loook forward to visiting again. read more
