I usually go to CVS or Walgreens for my pharmaceutical needs, but after I came here off a whim, I realize how much better pharmacy experiences can be. They fill your medications readily fast. I've also grown to be very fond of one pharmacist named Talin. She's the sweetest employee and is always open to answer any questions you may have. She really takes her time in ensuring that you understand what medications you are taking and what to expect. You don't get that from big chain pharmacies nowadays. With CVS Pharmacy and other big names, your interactions are limited and you don't feel cared for personally. This pharmacy offers both, which I totally can appreciate. Yeah! Medicine! This pharmacy was the easiest and quickest pharmacy experience I've had (even though I haven't had very many). I just had all 4 of my wisdom teeth extracted and I needed to grab my prescription of ibuprofen from the nearest counter possible. This one popped up on Yelp. The humble set up inside was charming and the clerk I worked with was a very kind gentleman. I was glad that they accepted MediCal because that's all I had. I didn't have to wait that long and there wasn't even a copay! Definitely the best experience under my crappy public health insurance yet. They also gave me a commentary free bag of medical marihuana! ...I'm kidding. It's a nice pharmacy and you can see that everyone else who has reviewed the place so far agrees. Oh! I will tell you I started going to this pharmacy because they were open on the weekends and as a working person it was very convenient to me and I told him this is why I was switching to them within two months they were no longer working on the weekends, so tell me do you think they might've known that when I was switching to begin with or did someone just wake up that morning and decide and we're not working weekends anymore if that's the case my bad. The pharmacist wow she is such a sweet caring smart intelligent woman all of the staff are assets to Glenoaks pharmacy. Also they never put you on hold for more than ten seconds they always pick up on the first ring. Lastly they have a drive through for your convenience you won't even wait for more than 3 min max. I've called twice different days to see if my Dr called to refill a script helloooo they said it's already on my door. They have delivery. Other pharmacies wait until the end of the night to deliver. Take my advice and use Glenoaks Rx stop making those corporations more millions while making you hold for 20 min or wait longer to drop off or pick up your meds. The employees who were helping me either were not wearing a mask or were wearing their mask under their nose. This is unacceptable. I will not be back. I relied on this Pharmacy for a couple of years. They were always pleasant and responsive to my needs. Now they are under new management. I also rely on my medication to prevent Seizures and panic disorder. Without notice, they closed the Saturday before Memorial Day, the only day I could pick up my medicine. Fortunately, my doc was able to contact another pharmacy to fill my prescription. The following month my doctor called-in, as usual, for my refill at Glenoaks and when I called to verify, I was told my prescription was ready and I could pick it up before 6 pm. Two hours later, Glenoaks Pharmacy called and told me that the "new manager" would not fill my prescription without a fax (hard copy) from my doc. My doc could not send a fax in time for me to retrieve my refill before Glenoaks closed that day, thus leaving me stranded, again, and once again, in panic mode. I will never do business with this pharmacy again. I recommend you find a pharmacy that is open when you need them, not closed without notice, leaving you in what could be a life threatening situation. read more

My elderly mom threw me a disturbing curve yesterday. Just as I was leaving for work (and on a Friday AM, too, of course!), she told me she'd run out of her blood pressure medication! As soon as they were opening, I called this, my mom's faithful pharmacy, and told them the situation. David sprung into action, and called around to fill it. At first, he was concerned that he wouldn't be able to find this drug before day's end, given the short notice. He called me back, however, within the hour, saying that he'd found a supply to refill this vital medication. PHEW!!! Hypertension is nothing to mess with, especially for an 87-year-old. Mom (and she's a retired nurse, too!) tried to be blase about it, saying, "That's alright. I'm sure nothing will happen to me." Too late--NOW I'm going to be her second pair of eyes, and be on top of all her prescriptions so this emergency doesn't happen again. Thanks again, to Glenoaks Pharmacy! read more

truly a community establishment where they treat you like a person, and not just a perscription #/$$$. They have different modes of delivery (van, drive-thru, etc.) and a REAL LIFE LICENSED PHARMACIST that can talk to you on the phone!!! If THAT'S not enough, you have them fighting for you like the "Larry H Parker" of Pharmacies to make sure you get the medication you need to get better all while providing great care and service. it's unheard of these days especially at the other "big-box"chain stores, where there's lines..unintelligible employees (including the pharmacist) and long waits, rude service, etc...they suck BIG Thanks to David and the Glenoaks Pharmacy! read more

O.M.G.... This place is amazing. First of all, a few months ago I read the awesome reviews of this pharmacy. A friend of mine had trouble every single month getting his meds filled; no pharmacy would have all of them in stock, and he had to jump around from one to another. One day when he was complaining about how awful it was to feel like garbage AND have to drive around to different pharmacies, I looked up on Yelp and found the wonderful reviews of Glenoaks Pharmacy. Told my friend, he went there -- and they filled every single prescription with no problems. They now have a permanent repeat customer. Fast forward to this week. My own poor darling daughter was taking a medication that had awful side effects, and needed a hospital stay to transition her on a new medication. Mind you, this medication requires weekly blood tests AND both doctors and pharmacies have to registered with an FDA website to be able to prescribe/dispense this medication. We're not talking aspirin here, guys. So I pick up daughter from hospital on a Friday. Went to usual drug store; they neither had the medication nor were they registered. Tried another; same thing. Then remembered Glenoaks Pharmacy, and how happy my friend was with them. A quick phone call -- and YES!! They had the medication and it was in stock! And they were registered to dispense it! There was a problem with my daughter's insurance for some reason; wouldn't go through. It's Friday evening; there is no way to fix the insurance problem. My daughter NEEDS her medication, though!! But they sold me 3 pills so I can get her through the weekend! Sweet! Spent oh-so-many hours on Monday speaking with daughter's insurance provider, then Glenoaks pharmacy (and I'm at work in Downtown!) but with the pharmacy's unrelenting effort we got the new medication! AND they delivered it (and also my friend's medication, who decided to transfer her prescription to Glenoaks) to the house so I wouldn't have to leave work! Dear readers: Listen to me. Stop wasting your time going to other pharmacies, especially if you have hard-to-fill medication or often get told "We have to order it" (which is a crock anyway. It's *medication*. People are sick. Why don't you have it in stock?). Just go here. They understand that *sick people need their medication TODAY* and they make damn sure that they have it in stock. I needed a new walker immediately for my mother (she can't get around without one and her's broke), which they didn't have the one I needed in the store at the time I was there around 4:00 PM (they close at 6:00 PM). When I asked when they could have it, they said by tomorrow morning no problem. I said I really need it tonight, so instead of saying the best we can do it tomorrow morning, they immediately made a call to their pick up / delivery driver and told me to be back by 5:30 PM as it would be there for me. Fantastic! I've been going there on and off for a few years. This week, my doctor called in an anti-inflammation prescription. David, the pharmacist/owner, remembered that last year, I had an issue with my stomach and knew that this medication would be uncomfortable/irritative for my stomach (wish my dr. had that same foresight). He called my medical home, discussed it with the medical staff and had a new prescription filled that fit my needs much better. I am pretty sure CVS would never have done anything like that. My qualms with dealing with the fucking health care system in this country are too long to jot down. Obviously it fails almost every person who is a working class man /woman under the HMO health plan and don't even get me started about the people and families who are low income because of numerous faults in the system. My wife had surgery today for her knee and she was prescribed some heavy pain meds and after circling around all the major pharmacies from CVS to Walgreens to every other one is a 10 mile radius in Burbank, I come across Glenoaks PhArmacy. I had pretty much given up hope on finding these meds anywhere but I walk in here and within 5 mins I have been helped and given the medications by the worlds nicest people. They are smart, courteous and beyond fucking intelligent and want to help people out. Please come to get your medication here ALL THE FUCKING TIME, do not go anywhere else because chances are you will never find people as awesome as these guys who really give a shit and care so much about their customers. I've been going here for at least 3 years, I should have written a review the first time I went I was blown away! Today was a prime example. I really needed one of my medications and didn't realize I was out of refills. They helped me get it approved but it was after they closed. I got 2 calls right after they opened this morning that is was ready. One didn't know the other called. They didn't have to do that but they care. It's the worst feeling having to call and call, waiting on hold and end up talking to a machine not knowing if anyone is doing anything to help you period. That never happens here. You can hardly get a chain pharmacy to take your call much less help you get what you need fast and call to let you know it ready! I can't name one specific person because everyone that works there is compassionate, knowledgeable, and super caring. You will never get their kind of service from a chain pharmacy, you'll never have to sit on hold or talk to a machine. Luckily we discovered David at Glenoaks Pharmacy after frantic and pointless searching all over town for a pharmacy to refill my boyfriend's insulin (which keeps him alive). No other pharmacy wanted to sell him insulin because he had no insurance, and their prices were off the charts! Glenoaks Pharmacy had the right attitude and best pricing we could find. David was also super helpful in locating the eye drops I needed for my cat's glaucoma, at a fraction of the cost of other pharmacies.
