Over a year ago, I made an incredible review about how cleanly and up to state board standards. The salon was. I continued to go every few months for over a year until a few months ago. I brought my husband in with me and he had not had a pedicure in a while, and I was not expecting his pedicure to be perfect just to clean up. Everything was going well until I noticed that the stylus pulled out a cheese grater style utensil to clean off his feet. That item is illegal to be used in all salons in Nevada. I did not want to embarrass her since the whole salon was full. I gently asked her nicely if she could just use the nickel file or the pumice stone or a combination of the both she then argued with me about how it was necessary so I gave one more nice warning of I don't expect it to be perfect. He will be back shortly. This is just a cleanup. Could you please use the tools that I have asked of you she argued with me again at that point I had to pull out the fact that I am a licensed salon, professional, and that is an illegal tool, and if they insist on using it, we will be walking out mid service. She continued the service properly which I appreciated, but the following few months I had not gone, and when I had went back I apparently got the woman who had been doing my husband, and I did not recognize her. I chose a simpler pedicure procedure than I normally do because I wanted to do the add-on of the herbal soak and face mask she started the service and then walked away for about 15 minutes pacing back-and-forth between the salon, then continued on with my basic pedicure without telling me that anybody would be by to talk to me about how those options were not available, but I can only assume to be was the manager came over almost by the time we were done and offered me two sheet mask from the dollar store, not even professional or nice face mask and told me that they do not do the herbal soak anymore because clients were complaining of the smell I had suggested that they mark it to black it off of their menu as per law you have to provide the services that are in your menu the nail tech doing my feet was basically done at this point and had asked if I wanted the sheet mask on now I had said yes she did nothing about it then ask again and I say yes and she tells me oh it would probably be better for you to do it at home so I held onto the two masks that I was given until services were completely done being rendered the polish color was supposed to match my nails that I do at a different salon, and by the time she was done, they were not even remotely the same color purple by that point I had already said this was a wash and a waste of money and when I checked out, I still tipped because I'm in the service industry, but not half as good as I would've and I would've definitely chose to have done an upgraded pedicure, knowing that the upgrades I wanted were not possible I will never be back again. I waited a long time to make this re-review. I don't know if there has been a change in owner or management, but those last two times will never get me back through the doors which is so upsetting because I was one stamp away to my discount card. read more

PLEASE READ ALL... I've never had nails like the nails at Glitz. Very elegant and classy. I was always the type to get simple French white tip and paid 25 for my nails. So when I came to glitz, I was excited. This place was super girly. I loved it. I found out about it through Facebook and I had to go. The lady who did my nails was very helpful and nice and she took her time she gave me no attitude or anything. Sadly she is no longer there. But I did however feel the weirdest vibe from other ladies that worked there and the lady who rang me out wasn't social at all... I left happy with my nails though, other than the vibe, I left with a rating of FIVE stars for my nails.. (I grew by nails out and didn't have money for a refill so I took them off) The SECOND time I went, I got my nails done by Nina (just the girl I wanted to see) she did my nails.. Did a whole new set for me. There was tension at first, i don't know why, but after a while the ice broke with conversation(it was a little hard to do that too lol) . I told her about how I washed dishes with gloves on, and explained to her how I did that only to be more cautious of my nails with hot water and soap and whatever other chemicals I would encounter with cleaning etc.. she told me it should be fine without gloves. I was like OK that's cool and thought maybe I would wash my dishes without gloves then.. (I don't work. Just a Housewife with house duties is all) After a week. My index finger was loose and I felt it lift a bit so I knew I had to go back and get a fill and to fix two fingers I noticed were a bit crooked.. The THIRD time I went in, Joe did my nails. She fixed them. I felt so comfortable with her, she was beyond nice and she was social.. THAT for me is a huge plus. Being able to be social and making a costumer feel comfortable is awesome and I loved it about this third visit. I felt no tension and everyone was absolutely nice to me. I loved it and fell in love with the place even more..... BEFORE I CAME HERE, I WOULD NOTICE MY ACRYLIC NAILS WOULD GET SOMEWHAT BROWN BUT I FIXED IT WITH ACETONE AND IT LOOKED BRAND NEW AGAIN. This time however I only saw two nails look like that. They looked brownish-pink. I did the acetone thing like I always have but it didn't go away... My index finger got loose again and of course, my nails were growing out.... I finally take my nails off December 26th 2015(not to long ago) and I find I have FUNGUS on my index finger nail and even worse green looking one was my middle finger... No wonder why the color looked weird and brownish instead of pink... Never in all my four years of only getting simple acrylic white 25 dollar nails, have I ever.. Ever had fungus on any of my fingernails.... I am upset that I have fungus. I am upset that GLITZ, my favorite new nail place was my to-go-to place is now the place I will never go to again because of that. I saw on facebook a lady left a review four months ago. About "somehow after her Second fill, water got under her nail and she now has fungus" and claimed they used cheap acrylic. Glitz only responded with a photo of their product, which meant "we have high quality equipment".. They didn't respond at all with any type of apology whatsoever about any of it... I didn't think it would happen to me and so it did. If you never had fungus and don't want it.. I'm sorry. You can go if you'd like to try it. I still love the place and the atmosphere but If you don't want want this problem, it's on you. My nails, they are precious to me. obviously.... I love my nails and to have fungus AFTER I WENT THERE, is a no go for me. I read more

Update 2/7 - I had to post more pictures. In less than two weeks almost all the nails have fallen off. When I asked Erika, she stated the Sculpted "nails" last longer without putting the acrylic tip on. Clearly she lied. The girl that did my nails was very nice, so was the receptionist and the salon was very well maintained. It was a quick uber ride from the strip hotel I was staying at, so I decided to give them a try. for $45, I got a sculpted acrylic full set by Ericka. During the application I commented that some of the nails were crooked, and she gave me the classic "that's the way your nail is" line. Not even 7 days later and 3 of the nails have fallen off. Waste of time and money. I don't live in Vegas anyway but if I did I certainly would not return. read more

Went in to get a pedicure today it was my first visit and i was so very impressed!! Its a brand new salon, only been open for about 5/6 weeks! Super cute salon, inviting decor, beautiful design! They do nail services and waxing and tanning and Vajazzling!! I saw courtney for my pedicure and it was great, she paid close attention to my callus, explained how i can keep the cracks in my feet from getting bigger and also gave me a regimine to heal them! Very thorough in educating me about product and after care! They have over 700 regular polished to choose from and 100 gel polishes so i will most certainly be back to ger my fingers done soon! The salon is in an industrial part of vegas but very close to the strip! And locals get 15% off!! I highly recommend you visit glitzed read more

The nail lady asked me where I got my nails done at. When I questioned why she was asking she said , " no offense but asian nail salons use cheap quality material like this " You shouldnt be asking me what other nail salons I go to . Talking down on other places isnt going to make your place look any better. This place should just work on improving their own nail work for example not trying to find every excuse in the book to not do french tips on my toes like "my toe nails are too short" and stop trying to be lazy and trying to convince me to do a whole solid color when I specifically stated im only interested in french tips and then sending a newbie over to do a wack job. The front desk lady was also the person who worked on my nails and made up the price on the spot because there was no pricing listed anywhere, which I agreed to which I detailingly stated what i was having done include the length of the coffin shape and removal only to be told at the end an extra charge. FYI, the previous place that did my nails is shimmer nails, that place doesnt have asian workers and my nails were done by a hispanic lady so stop assuming that because the "material is cheap" that it automatically has to be an asian nail salon that did my nails. Also im asian so if shes able to say that racist comment directly to me, I wonder how much worse she talks about asians when her non-asian clients are around. read more

Glitz is a hidden gem amidst the industrial buildings directly across from the Spearmint Rhino. The inside decor is cute and extremely clean. Most importantly, they have massage chairs for when you get a pedicure (mandatory for me). The staff is very friendly & helpful. They offer everything from tanning, waxing, cupping, nail services, & more. I look forward to trying their cupping services soon. I always get my nails done here, and I always leave more than satisfied! read more

Unfortunately I could not even schedule an appointment due to the incompetence of the receptionist that answered the phone. I was trying to schedule a manicure with a full set for two people as well as a pedicure with a full set for two people. This was going to be a 200 to $400 appointment and I was completely turned off by the absolute lack of service over the phone so I went ahead and scheduled with a different Salon. I went to Glitz once prior to my my most recent appointment and I couldn't have been happier.I booked a 12pm appointment on a saturday and I even got a confirmation text from the shop but at the time of my appointment on that saturday there was no one to be found. I was super disappointed I waited 30 minutes outside the doors to find no one there and not even a phone call to reschedule my appointment.I would have rescheduled as I understand things can happen but to completely flake on my appointment was unacceptable.I hope they can get it together . read more

Really nice decorated salon. The service I got was a full set coffin style nails. The nail technician did a good job with the shaping of the nails but, when it came down to putting on the nail polish some of my nails had air bubbles. I asked for a matte finish and was pleased but as soon as I got back to my place my nails turned grayish/black. Very disappointed and I did not tan after. read more
