Absolutely horrible experience -- I would not recommend Glow Nail Spa 2
On July 8, my daughter and I went to Glow Nail Spa 2 to celebrate her 21st birthday. We were looking forward to a relaxing mother-daughter experience, but instead it turned into one of the most frustrating and disappointing salon visits I have ever had.
My daughter's pedicure technician was kind and did a nice job. Unfortunately, my technician, Juan, was the complete opposite. From the beginning of my service, he acted like he did not want to be there. His attitude was rude, impatient, and made the entire experience uncomfortable. You could feel that he had no interest in providing good customer service.
I requested white polish on my toes and specifically asked that the bright pink polish already on my nails be completely removed. Juan insisted the white polish would cover it and refused to properly remove the pink. As expected, the pink showed through the white polish because the old color was not removed correctly.
The pedicure itself was extremely poor. He did not properly prepare my nails, would not use cuticle remover, and aggressively pushed my cuticles back with a metal tool, causing unnecessary discomfort. I repeatedly asked him to clean up certain areas around my toenails, but he refused to properly correct them and acted annoyed every time I asked.
Basic parts of a pedicure were skipped. There was no soap or soak solution added to the foot bath, my feet were never properly moisturized with lotion, and he barely scrubbed the sides of my feet. It felt like because I declined the more expensive pedicure upgrade, he was unwilling to provide the quality of service that should come with a basic pedicure. I was also asked multiple times to switch to gel polish after I had already said no.
The service was so poorly done that another technician had to step in and fix my pedicure before I could leave. The pink polish was still showing through the white, so the polish had to be completely removed and redone. The other technician also had to use an electric drill to remove rough skin that Juan failed to remove with a pumice stone. I should not have to pay for a service and then have another employee repair the work before leaving the salon.
I was also uncomfortable because I never saw fresh, sanitized tools opened for my service. I cannot speak to what happens behind the scenes, but from my customer perspective, I did not see new tools being brought out, which raised concerns for me.
My daughter's nail service was another disappointment. She specifically went in for a hard gel fill with a French tip. The technician did a nice-looking job overall, but she did not receive the service she requested. Instead of hard gel, she was given poly gel. We did not realize it until we left and discussed exactly what she had paid for. She paid approximately $80 for her fill and French tip and should have received the product and service she specifically requested.
This experience was supposed to be a special birthday memory for my daughter, and instead it was stressful, frustrating, and disappointing. Between the poor workmanship, Juan's terrible attitude, the lack of professionalism, the constant pressure to upgrade services, and having to get my pedicure completely redone, this was unacceptable.
I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience was bad enough that I feel other customers should know what to expect. There are many talented nail professionals in Colorado Springs who value their customers and take pride in their work.
Zero out of 10. I do not recommend Glow Nail Spa 2, and we will absolutely never return. read more
