I gave this place 3 stars because at least the car I got appears to have been a good deal. Now onto the bad... I found Carsmart because my wife and I were looking for a specific model car and through online searching it appeared that this place was one of the only in the area that had it and it was a really good deal. So good we were a little concerned. So I called the office to ask a few questions. The receptionist attempted to answer my questions but was clearly unknowledgable in the process. In fact, she gave out information that was flat out wrong. For example, I was looking at a Hyundai and I asked her if the 100,000 mile warranty transferred. She confidentally said yes it does. So I called Hyundai directly and was explained that only a 60,000 mile warranty transfers. She could have found this in a quick google search like I did rather than lie to me. Next I asked if I could get the car checked at a mechanic prior to buying. She told me the manager would call me back. No response.... Anyway, I still wanted to check out the car. So we made an appointment with Ismael and drove 45 minutes to see it. When we got there Ismael was not to be found so we were sent to Aaron Jones. The car was there and looked to be in near perfect condition (it was a 2015 with 15,000 miles on it). Some rust on the rotors and some minor scratches was all I saw. I did note that the floor mats were oddly missing and Aaron said he would take care of that. After test drive we decided this was too good of a deal to turn up so we asked for a discount to cover the minor issues with the car. The finance manager told us that since the shop was closed at the time he couldn't get the mechanics to check it again but assured me it had passed inspection. I was able to get him to discount the price by $200 however. Still no word on getting floor mats despite me checking back in 3-4 times on it. Ok, so we agreed on the deal and Aaron was very nice and curteous the entire time. They gave us the keys and said that they would have to check for the spare set in storage. This seemed extremely shady. This dealer only had about 20-30 cars on their lot so storing all the spare keys would take up about as much space as a shoe box. So why would they need to keep them in a different location? Also, how come the key was even separated in the first place? This seemed very odd but at this point was not a deal-breaker. Regarding the car, I did get it checked out right away at a trusted mechanic and they found no hidden issues, so at least I felt comfortable that I bought a solid car. The next day I did receive an automated text message from Aaron wishing me well with my car. I responded by email to Aaron to ask about the still missing floor mats. Silence... I called the dealership and they apparently had no idea of an Aaron that even worked there. Odd. I finally got on the line, after several very confused receptionists passed me along, with another sales manager Ismael. I explained I never got the floor mats and Aaron promised them. Still sounded like no Aaron even worked there. I explained that genuine Hyundai mats were about $75 online. He said he would not get those but I can go to Advance Auto and pick out mats and they would purchase it for me. I said, thats crazy because it would be the same price and I live 45 minutes away. He said he would get back to me and hung up. Silence... So I never heard about about the floor mats. I considered it a wash and just bought my own good quality mats. Fast forward 40 days, I was supposed to have been notified of the permanent plates being ready at the dealer. Seemed like a long time, so I called them. The receptionist confirmed that they were ready for me. Why didn't anyone call me, I ask. She had no idea.... I insist on speaking to a manager and along comes Ismael. I tell him about the terrible customer service I've endured and ask him to please mail me the plates at no charge (they typically charge $20 to do so). He laughed at me and said he would do it as a customer courtesy. I asked about the spare keys and, as expected with a place like this, they did not have it. So end of the day, I got a good deal on a gently used car that was oddly missing floormats and a second key, both of which I had to buy on my own. The customer service at Carsmart makes Comcast look good, hence the deduction of 2 stars. When I got my other car purchased new, I got personal calls from the salesperson to check if I needed anything a few days later. Only an automated text message and no response from Carsmart. And the fact that they deny or are unaware of an employee working for them (they only have about 3-4 employees in the office at one time) is absurd. I went to carsmart to get approved alone in which they did and I was able to drive away the same day. However the car that I purchased and is making payments on has spent more time in the shop been working very well. The salesperson seem to work very hard to get me in my situation straighten out how everything's changed. So I have to find my own ride to work on Monday because the car has to get the engine replaced. And it took five trips for them to figure this out. But once again I have to find my own way to work on Monday. Very dissatisfied customer. However they will get you in the car. read more

I purchased my car from here back in 2015 and I still have the vehicle. I had my car serviced here on a few occasions but these last two times have been suspect in terms of damage. The latest happened this past Saturday, the 18th , when I went in to get an oil change and my car came back with damage to the paint on my passenger side back bumper! It was not like this when I took it there and when I ask to see the camera they refused! If you go here please take BEFORE pictures of your car! If you don't have the complexion for the protection I suggest you take your vehicle some place else or if you want to risk it at least take pictures of your car before it goes back to get worked on! I am very disappointed with my purchase. I purchased a beautiful, new 2013 Ford Taurus. However, in only four years after purchasing, the paint has completely failed and it is now just ugly. I have taken it to several body shops where they said it was a substandard paint job and clear coat. The money I paid for the car was significant. I called Carsmart when the paint started going bad and they said "but your engine works." They completely missed the point and ignored my complaint. You buy the whole car, not just an engine. I should have spent a couple thousand dollars more and purchased a vehicle from a well known and higher rated dealership. I would give 0 stars to this place if I could, I am so thoroughly disgusted with this place. I made an appointment to meet Tisha Carroll last week at 7:15 and test drive two cars that I was interested in. When I got there, not only were SHE not there but NEITHER of the two cars were either. I was informed they were at "inspection in Fairfax". FYI, it is ILLEGAL to have inspection done in another state from where the business keeps the cars!! When I tried to discuss pricing by phone, Tisha ASSURED ME that $13,999 would not be a problem ($1,000 less than asking price) on a 2013 Hyundai Elantra. I told her I wanted it confirmed before making a 90 minute drive out there and wanted to make sure the price was fine. She assured me on 3 separate occasions that it would NOT be a problem. Imagine my surprise when I got there and was told they couldn't go any lower than $14,899!!! A difference of $100, AND THEY DIDN'T EVEN HAVE THE CARS. Are you serious?!?!?????? The man I spoke to then tried to pull a bait and switch and tried selling me a 2015 Hyundai Elantra for more than $2,000 more. When I told him I wasn't interested, he immediately stopped talking to me and tried speaking to "the man" of our group, who I informed him was my mechanic and was NOT interested in buying a car from him. Bought a car here and have been getting the run around for selling us a car with problems for the past 3 months. Reps are non responsive and transfer you all across the world with no help. Chuck the general manager hangs up on you or keeps you on hold with no resolution. Who the hell is this guys manager????? Who is the owner??? Do not buy from here if u want a safe and reliable car and if u actually want to live and survive from driving one of these cars. My car was fine until about 2 months later my gear shift is broken in which i'm not in warranty for , Then here I am in APRIL of 2018 & my car wasn't broken into but stolen & all I can get from carsmart is a vin number and tag number. I was told most cars after 2014 have tracking devices inside and they told me there isn't a way that they can track my car . We were skeptical of the agency at first but we did quickly purchase a car and all the paper work was efficiently handled. We did ask for a spare key, as I was not willing to walk away with a car and only one key. We also asked that the new tags be mailed to us as it was too far for us to make a return trip. I purchased a H3 Hummer from this dealership on 11/19/19. I was given a 30 day warranty. The vehicle was taking in water the first time that it rained and a check engine light came on in the vehicle. I returned the vehicle the the dealer for the repairs. I was told that the thermostat was replaced and the water leak was fixed. Following the repair, on the very next day the engine started to screech. I looked into the engine and noticed the the Reservoir overflow cap was not fully close and the antifreeze had spewed over the engine due to the cap not being closed. At least I thought, after replacing the fluid and securing the cap. The next day the anti freeze had drained again. I contacted the dealer to let them know of the issue. I was given the run around and placed on hold for 15 minutes. Being sent back and forth to the dealer and the repair shop over the phone. The receptionist eventually got back on the phone and told me that the vehicle was out of warranty. She also stated that " I may have caused the issue by hitting a pothole. The Sales manager Ismail told me that they would only be able to offer on discount on the repair despite the fact that I am still in the 30 day warranty period. So I will need to seek legal action with an attorney to get the repair completed. Steer clear of this dealership. They turn their back on you once you purchase the vehicle. Buyer beware! Buyer beware! I was in the market to buy a vehicle specifically a 2015-2016 Charger and I came across tons of them here in NC but I was not drawn to the ones I was finding here. I decided to see what more options I would have if I branched further out. After a couple of hours online I Came across Carsmart in Temple Hills MD. They had a 2015 Charger with 49k miles on the engine, looked great and had everything I wanted. So I called and inquired and told them that I am out of state and would like to purchase but I have lots of questions. So they paired me with Ishmail the sales manager. Let's just say they put on a front till after you buy! So I asked all the basic questions like, issues? Extra keys? How many owners? Last time it was serviced? And was there an multi inspection done? Of course they told me everything I wanted to hear but didn't know it till later. So I talk it over with my fiancé and she say sure let's buy the car, and so I call them back. I told them everything, had my own finanacing but needed bill of sale. They were quick with getting everything to me and the bank. So I get a rental and my fiancé and I make the 4 1/2 hour journey to get the car from MD so I can bring back to NC. After 4 hours I get there and everything looks good and we sit down to finalize paperwork. I ask just to make sure that everything is good with the vehicle and Ishmail goes yes, do you wanna test drive? Of course I do so I proceeded to test drive, drove fine and had no issues. We get back to the dealership and I'm signing away and we start talking about warranty, they said we have a 1000 or 30 day 100% engine and transmission warranty, awesome! I asked how will that work with me being out of state, Ishmail and they other sales person goes to my fiancé and I and says " it won't be an issue, because we know your outta state and we will get it taken care of for you". Sweet! Continued to sign and eventually drove off, I get half way back to NC and started to notice a little bit of play in the steering wheel. So I thought to myself that the tire must be off balanced. So I finally get back to NC, and we immedialty go to bed because we had to catch a flight in the AM. Fast forward we get back, a week later and I go to start my car and there's a loud whining noise when it started, not knowing what it is and also wanting the tires checked, I schedule an appointment at the dodge dealership here locally(NC). I get a rental while my car is getting looked at, which I paid for. Anyways I get a call back and if course I get the bad news. Idler pulley is worn out, the front strut tensioners are worn out, OH! And all my skid plates covering the oil pan and the lower portion of the motor is missing. All in all $1200 worth of parts and labor. So I call them, they want me to drive all the way back to MD, leave the car there, drive back to NC, waiting to have it fixed, then drive all the way back to MD to pick the vehicle back up. That was there only solution?! Seriously?! After explaining. To them what he manager told me they still wouldn't do anything but gues what!?! I have the entire conversation with the manager dealership on recording for this exact reasoning! So needless to say I have contacted my lawyer and he will be filing paper work on Monday if they are unwilling to get this taken care of. I Went to this dealership yesterday, after receiving terrible customer service from a nearby dealership, so I was already skeptical that this place would be any different. Upon arriving, I was immediately greeted by a friendly Sales Rep and shown around the lot. They had the exact car I wanted In stock, with less miles, and a cheaper price that the previous dealership. My Sales Rep was very friendly, knowledgeable and even offered refreshments. The process was fairly quick, and they made me feel comfortable with my purchase. I ended up driving away with the car I wanted, for the price I wanted. I was with a family member, who stated that she would frequent this location again to purchase a car. This place is not big and lavish, but the level of service and respect I received makes up for it. Buyer's Beware! January 13, 2016 I purchased a 2015 VW Passat with approx. 15,870 miles. Because the car was so new with low mileage I didn't think there would be any problems with the car. When I test drove the car and sat down with the salesman I asked him numerous times was there any problems with the car and has the car been in an accidents. The salesman told me there was on problems with the car and the car has not been in any accidents and he stated he would print out the car fax; and the car fax was clean stating no accidents or issues with the car. After having the car for about a week I felt there was a problem with the car. I took the car to the dealership's service department and stated there was a problem with the brakes and hesitation in the engine. The service department check the car and stated they just had to bleed the brakes and the car is fine. After a couple of days this car still didn't seem right. So I took the car to a car mechanic to be checked out. The car mechanic told me he found the car had been in an accident. The bumper was replaced, the hood of has been buffed out, paint drippings on the bumpers, some aftermarket parts under the hood, a tire replaced, marking on the front rims on both sides (that shows indication of accident) and the bumper is not properly aligned. The car mechanic stated I needed to take the car back. So the next day (about 1 1/2 - 2 weeks of having the car) I went back to the dealership and ask for the manager. I spoke with the manager Eric Cannon (I think that was his name) about the issues I found with the car. I stated I no longer wanted the car and he said to me I bought the car and now it is between me and the bank. I am extremely upset because the dealership was very deceitful. They told me the car had not been in an accident and the car has been in an accident. They told me when I purchased the car they had to find the second key and I did not receive a second key and therefore I have to buy a second key which will cost me $300. The car had no car mats and I had to spend $50 to purchase car mats and also the car had no front tag holder in which I did not notice when I purchased the car because they had a tag glued on the front bumper. The car mechanic pointed that out when he inspected the car. So therefore I also have to pay to get a tag holder installed. I thought I was getting a year old vehicle with low mileage and free of accidents and I did not receive that. Also the dealership stated and gave me a print out of the manufacturer's warranty and stated the vehicle is still under the warranty. But because the car has been in an accident the manufacturer's warranty will be voided. So therefore I don't have any warranty on the car. But I was told the car was still under warranty but that too is untrue. Stay away from this place! read more

I am only giving one star because I can't give any less to write a review! This place deserves way less then 1! I drove 3 hours yesterday to go see a car there because I was assure on the phone several times that I would get a reasonable trade in offer and that they could meet my needs on the monthly payment. When I got there the car was filthy and had scratches everywhere and to top it off it had been wrecked and painted with the wrong paint in that area which was on the report but the lady I spoke to on the phone lied and said it hadent been wrecked! We asked for them to send it to get waxed and buffed and if it looked better we were still interested. Ismail laughed at us and said its a used car what do you expect! Well I expect scratches but don't expect to be flat out lied to about everything we asked before making a 3 hour trip there and for whoever fixed it to paint it the wrong color ( the car was metallic and the repair spot was not)!!! So we waited 3 1/2 hours then finally the car came back on a roll back!!!! And they hadent even detailed it!!! They were just sending it to a body shop!!! At that point I reached my breaking point and left!! He wouldn't lower the price at all and was trying to tell me they could only give me 8500$ for my trade in when the trade appraisal is 10500$ and I owe almost 12000$. this place deserves zero stars the staff seem to be friendly and want to work with you but it is not the case. they will take advantage of you take your money give you a "spot delivery" and then tell you your financing fell through but they have another bank just come in with another $1500 cash and you will be good to go. if you refuse and give the car back they will take your down payment and calculate all these non exsistant charges and then call you and get ugly on the phone saying your screwed out of your money and how you owe them money. crooks theives and liars. they will take advantage of the disabled and elderly do NOT go to these people. absolutely waste of time money and energy. tim is a con man and ismeal is disrespectful as well as a thief. horrible experience at this dealership. so consumers be warned you will fall subject to a "yo yo sale" or "spot delievery scam" if you purchase here. they have been reported to numerous organizations and may suffer numerous lawsuits soon. read more
