For 3 years I evaluated surgeons and surgeries. I chose ABiC combined with cataract surgery performed by Dr David Richardson at San Marino Eye, a mere 8,000 + miles from my home in Australia. The surgery was successfully performed on Friday Nov 8 & 22. Did I make the right decision? You bet I did! Along with his team at San Marino Eye, Dr Richardson's priority was my eyesight. I could wax on positively about patient access, generosity of time, professionalism, up to the minute procedures etc etc, all of which is true. However, the comment made to me by a theatre nurse, as I was in hospital recovery, sums up my whole experience perfectly, "... you were lucky having this Surgeon" I couldn't agree more!

He explained every step of the process clearly, helped ease my fears about the quick, noninvasive procedure, and never made me feel rushed. He took the time to answer my questions, demonstrated what to expect, offered me water, and made sure I was comfortable throughout the visit. Since this was my first experience at an eye clinic, I'm especially grateful that Kyle made it such a positive one. He is the reason I would come back with no hesitation. Dr. Jones and Dr. Khine were just as lovely and welcoming. They treated me as though I were a close friend or member of their family and made sure all of my needs were taken care of. They both reviewed the procedure with me beforehand and explained everything they were doing throughout it, which made me feel comfortable and reassured. After examination, Dr Jiang confirmed the presence of the tear and recommended laser treatment to prevent potential detachment in the future. He informed me treatment can be done right away and asked me to sign the consent form. A couple numbing drops later and he began to laser the torn spot. After about 5 minutes, the treatment was done and it was practically painless. The only sensation I felt was slight pressure on the eyeball from time to time. Overall, this was a lot less stressful than I imagined. Highly recommend Dr Jiang!

Originally I wanted to come in for my consult due to my farsightedness and high astigmatism but my dad also ended up joining me last minute LOL and the team at SM location tried their best to accommodate him despite their busy schedule - MEGA THANKS! With some back and forth testing to see whether we qualified for the procedure, we did have to visit the City of Industry location a couple of times since they had a specific machine for dilation that the SM location did not have. In the end I ended up having my surgery there and it was a breeze! I also saw both Dr. Grace and Dr. Nguyen as my optometrists - both amazing and honest drs. Literally told me as it is, and reassured me that post surgery, it would take awhile for me to readjust due to my past prescription. SURGERY DAY; went in, got retested to be sure, got to meet my surgeon & the assistants- Dr. Lin- super nice man), just a bit of loud machinery noise and burning smell but both eyes were zapped and done within 20 minutes. I was able to literally open my eyes post procedure, although blurry, but with no issues. Got my handy clear eye covers and had my eyes closed for the rest of day. So I'm left eye dominant which makes me a higher risk but Dr Melikian did an incredible job of being very thorough during my consultation, did lots of testing and made me feel very comfortable that I would be ok despite other doctors advising me not to do it. So I scheduled my procedure within two weeks and had both Doctors Youssefzadeh and Melikian day of surgery. They were so incredibly professional, fun and kind. I love their personalities!!!! I just want to to say that I'm SO happy that I followed through for the lasik procedure. I am one day post op and I CAN SEE!!!!! Overall recovery has been pretty easy and comfortable. He does a very thorough exam every time and makes sure everything looks good with your eyes. I also appreciate that he's helped me out with extra contact packs when I've been running low. They take most insurance. I've been using VSP here with no issues. Pricing on contacts is also pretty comparable to other places, which is another reason I keep coming back.
