Do not get sucked in to this CULT! I beat myselft up all the time for the money and time I've invested into this place. This place is a cult and don't let Gloria or her brainless minions tell you otherwise. The Glass revolves around Gloria, so unless you wanted to hear endless tales of her heyday when she had a brief film career I would stay far away. I've heard some of the same stories at least 10 times but she justifies the time spent on them by saying they are life lessons that we can learn from. Every time someone knew joined the class, to our pleasure, we got to hear them all over again. She would sometimes spend 3 quarters of the class just rambling on about nonsense. On top of that, most of the time she would show up 30 to 60 mins late for Saturday class and we would be instructed to lay on the floors in the dark for relaxation hour. Fun. Once you join class your instructed to stand and applause when Gloria ( the god) enters the room. Its absurd. There's no curriculum or order, its likes she just wings almost every Saturday class. There were so many times where half the class would not be able to get up and participate in the 4 hour class because she was late and then spent most of the class talking. Some of it was her getting into students personal lives which we all had to sit and listen to. I've witness her berate a student because they were having a child. A CHILD! This should be a wonderful time in a persons life but Gloria had to scold him in front of the entire class for a half hour stating that his decision could be a career killer. Any student with a backbone would have stood up and walked out but you wont find many in her class. Don't be fooled by the Christmas gifts or birthday gifts or food or coffee that she gives the students. That does not mean shes a good person but maybe it helps her feel better about the way she treats her students. Shes suppose to be mentor, a leader, someone her students can confide in likes shes states. Yet, when a student leaves class, instead of taking a look at her self and maybe trying to figure out how she could become a better instructor, she talks trash about those students to the entire class and airs their dirty laundry. SHES SO UNPROFESSIONAL! What she really is, is an egotistical, self-absorbed, bitter, lonely old women who has nobody but her students which blows my mind that she treats some of them so terrible. Shes rude, condescending, nasty, and never wrong. Shes a master manipulator. Sunday class, which is suppose to be for the experienced actors, is so backed up. What I mean by that is that the class is so full and all of the scenes are behind schedule because Gloria is terrible with time management. You may have to wait 4-8 weeks to get a scene up. She puts pressure on you to participate in her shows, especially the Shakespeare shows. You only have to pay her over a 1000$ to be in them. WHAT A JOKE! If there's 30 students in the show, that's close to 30 thousand. She tells everyone that the production cost are extremely high. That's A LIE! One, Gloria doesn't have to pay for the rights for Shakespeare shows. Its usually only one set which cant be more than 2000$, if that. Most of the actors don't have more that one costumes change so what maybe another 2000$ on costumes. She does provide food for a few shows and valet but don't try to tell me it costs that much to justify asking her students for that much money. Shes ripping her students off. Some students have Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday class which is a big commitment especially if they are in one of Gloria's productions which involves a vigorous rehearsal schedule on top of all their scenes partners. I've seen her tell a student that he should quit his job and get a new one so he could make all the rehearsals and shows even tho they are usually triple casted. Shes puts unreasonable expectations on her students. No wonder most of the students complain about being poor. Shes like to show up hours late to rehearsals and if the students complain she says well that what its like in Hollywood, "sometimes you wait hours on set before you have to perform".What Gloria doesn't get is that we are getting paid to be on set, we don't get paid for her rehearsals and a lot of times we are taking off of work in one of the highest cost of living cities to be at her rehearsals. Shes expects you to be a life student, there are some people in the class that have been with her almost 20 years. If you do decide you want to try something different and leave then you are completely cutoff. This is probably the one acting class in town were they have no alumni because Gloria will tell the rest of the class that you were the problem if you leave. Even if you leave on good terms the students who you think are your friends will completely cut you off, well most of them. If you leave you'll find out who your true friends are and realize how many fake people there are in her class. There's alot of them! read more

Save your time, your money and most important of all... your dignity. I was in this class for five years before I left. This class is a cult, cleverly disguised as an acting class. I learned through this class that there are many different forms of abuse... not just physical, but there is mental abuse, emotional abuse, narcissistic abuse, psychological abuse, financial abuse... the list goes on, and when you're a member of this class, you will subject yourself through each and every one of these kinds of abuses, the longer you stay in the class. When I left 9 years ago, Leah Remini had just left Scientology one year prior... this was before she released her book, before her series premiered, which I highly recommend "Leah Remini: Scientology and the Aftermath" and this was before "Going Clear" was released on HBO. When I left the class, I was "shunned," everybody stopped talking to me, people unfriended me on Facebook, some left some comments on my page before un-friending me, it's just like getting excommunicated from a church, they treat you like you never even existed and usually there's a smear campaign, after I left class, I did a lot of research on Scientology and everything made perfect sense. It's really sad that I was never a Scientologist myself, but yet, when I read Remini's book cover to cover, I knew all of the Scientology jargon that Remini referenced in her book because Gloria uses the same exact terms to teach us a class. Knowing Gloria, she probably talked trash about me after I left, probably made digs at my sexuality because, that was still something I was insecure about at that point in my life, and the minute there's an insecurity about you that she detects, that becomes her leverage to use against you, then she will manipulate you, control you and get you to do whatever she wants you to do at her beck and call. I was lucky when I left that nobody showed up at my house or my job or try to talk me into staying because that has happened to other students in the past. When I left, I had to do it quietly through an e-mail and not in person, because if you dare to try to tell her in person that you are leaving the class, the doors get locked and there's an immediate intervention to try and talk you out of it. After 5 years, I knew I was done, and I didn't want to waste my time or effort and energy in going through the motions of another intervention... because yes, she had already threatened to kick me out of class prior when I left a Property Management job she set me up with, because I wasn't happy and I wanted to move on, I was ready for her to kick me out of the class, and I didn't say anything. Gloria eventually caved and let me stay in her class a little longer, but the only reason she kept me was because she didn't want to lose my $450 a month payment to her for her three classes. Gloria doesn't make enough income as an actor herself, so just as long as she has 30-50 students who are willing to spend thousands of dollars per year to keep studying with her, that's how she can make her living, and then if you have a little success here and there through booking a job or a series regular, Gloria makes herself out to be like Christ, and you are forever indebted to her, and that if you leave her class, you are nothing without her. Oh and fun fact, I went from having no television credits to booking a guest star on prime time national television show, didn't even have a co-star credit, and in that same year I was also the third lead in an independent feature film, and all of this happened for me five years after I left her class, and I made sure to keep myself busy with writing and producing two award-winning one-man shows that have toured both nationally and internationally. Now, I'll be fair in this brief moment and say that Yes, Gloria is a great acting teacher, I did learn a lot from her, about acting and the industry, however, it's not worth the cost, and I'm not just talking financially. Nobody in the class has a healthy functioning relationship with anybody outside of the class, that class becomes your everything, and it's not healthy. There are plenty of other acting classes in town with great teachers as well, and they won't be in your personal life or your business, and they won't make you feel like the worst human being who ever walked the face of the earth. Gloria likes to say that she breaks you down to build you back up, however the things she says to you directly, will damage you, and it will take years for those wounds to fully heal in your mind. I couldn't fit all I had to say in my original post. Another thing that's so unprofessional about this class is that Gloria likes to talk openly about her financial situation which is ridiculous. I don't know if she does this to make her students feel bad so they donate money to the conservatory or what. But if you have no talent that is one way to land yourself a lead in one of her productions. She had a fundraiser not to long ago and had her students donate a ton of stuff to auction off to raise funds for the new space to purchase lighting, seating, and a stage. I heard she raised almost $15,000 if I'm not mistaken. I spoke to a student that's still there and they said they still haven't purchased any of that. Where did that money go GLORIA? On top of the money she asks from her students for the productions, she also badgers you about selling add space for the programs which again takes up class time that you are paying for. Gloria had all of her officers badger everyone to write a positive yelp review for her. If you have a good school you shouldn't have to ask your students multiply times to give you a good yelp review. She actually asked everyone to raise their hand in a Sunday class if they wrote a yelp review and then asked everybody who didn't have their hand up what they were waiting for. Shes builds people up in class to make them feel great so they trust her and then eventually she breaks you so you think that you cant be successful with out her but take a look at all the students who have been with here FOR YEARS and see how successful they really are. Gloria and her students like to compare the GGC to other top acting programs NYU, Juliard, Yale school of drama and many others. What separates GGC from these other programs is that those students at those other programs learn from a range of different teachers compared to Gloria who is the only one teaching when shes not talking about herself. There's a reason she doesn't let you audit classes which is a red flag. Please do yourself a favor stay away. There are so many good acting schools in LA where its about the students and not the teacher. I know there are a good amount of current students who feel the same way about a lot of what I have said but they are just to scared to voice their opinions or to scared to look for a better school. I use to feel terrible when I would witness Gloria personally acting some of her students but after I left I don't feel bad for them at all. They are just weak-minded individuals who need to follow someone but I was once in their boat. Theirs always a life raft and you can still get out! read more

I joined class 6 months ago and it has changed my entire life and career. Gloria is relentless. This is more than an acting class. A lot of acting classes just take your money and tell you what you want to hear. In this class you don't just put up a scene once or twice, she makes you keep bringing that scene back until you get it right.
