An absolutely phenomenal venue to see your favorite film or a new discovery of cinema. It transports you back in time to when 35mm was the standard and audiences didn't look at their phone at chat. Great snack bar with staples and fun treats. Lots of street parking in area. Lines can be a bit much but they move quickly and the bathroom is small but people try to be efficient. Can't wait to return!

Loved seeing Kill Bill the long version! The merchandise was cool and as always the movie was amazing! Had a 15 min break, popcorn delish. The seats are a little annoying, less one star.

Awesome Going to the New Beverly Cinema is just an awesome experience. It's an experience made for people who love and celebrate going to the movies. The employees are all incredibly friendly. The concession prices are from the 90s. It's not a massive counter, but they have a lot of good options, including some neat QT merch. All movies are shown on film, and they emphasize the importance of staying off your phone and being quiet. Which is rare nowadays so it's something that I certainly appreciate. The only negative is the seats are a bit small so if it's a packed theater, it can get a little tight depending on where you're sitting, but it's not enough to keep me away.

I saw Point Break here on Saturday July 19, 2025, with my mom, and my friend and her mom. This theater really took me back to my childhood... If you don't show up early, you might not get to sit next to your crew, good popcorn that doesn't cost as much as your mortgage, and no phones! It was great! I highly recommend seeing a movie on FILM here! (Side note: I saw Point Break in the theater as a kid. And it was exciting to see that a bunch of people at the New Beverly had not seen it before!)

Came for a friend's premier of the movie "The Dead Things" and had a superb time! Obviously this theater is an LA staple, but this was my first time here! I loved the previews from old school films. They took us to a different time and it was refreshing to watch the animated short film ahead of the feature as well! Having classic previews lead up to the very dark, modern feature presentation took me on a time capsule through eras of filmmaking, and being among others who obviously shared a love for the craft was as refreshing as the films! The Dead Things was intriguing on many levels, with real modern tropes tapping into the supernatural world. There's enough open context in the end for you to craft your own ideas of what happened with the protagonist, but enough story for you to feel you're not lost. Haha. Clean bathrooms. Lovely staff. Beautiful entrance. And dope attendees (I left my keys in the boathroom and nobody stole them. Yay humanity) Will return

This is pure cinema at its ultimate! This ain't no multi plex boys and girls! This is film (cinema) at its core -- before most of you were even born! A national monument for what Hollywood used to be like. The New Beverly is where you can revisit how movies were shown. Small, intimate and refurbished to its hey day by master filmmaker, fanatic, and a cinema philanthropist Quentin Tarantino. A beautiful place of worship for any cinephile! Experience the way movies of their heyday were meant to be seen -- on full 35mm film!! Hear the wiiiirrr of the two powerful film projectors as pure cinema is meant to be seen. Order your tickets online as they average about $10-$15 tix a pop. Be sure to come early to get good seats, fresh popcorn and concessions, and park somewhere in the neighborhood. This is the #1 tip! Beware of where you park!! -- bc park meter thugs will get you! Plan to prepare. Besides that it's a fabulous and great experience--and who knows, you may bump into the man who made it happen -- QT himself! See you at the movies! ;-)

I feel like this was a bucket list place to visit and I'm so glad we got the chance to last night. My friend and I headed over to see a screening of Nosferatu after a movie premiere we were supposed to go to got canceled. This was an amazing alternative! The movie theatre is very cute and the staff is super friendly. Also, the ticket prices are great -- I think I paid $13 for a ticket, which seems very reasonable considering how much of a great experience it is, that it's Tarantino's theatre, and that they only show film movies there. The quality of the film movie was fantastic. I really appreciate the art in showing only film movies. They also played a 15 minute Looney Toons cartoon and old film trailers before the movie started which really set the tone. The last thing that put this theatre in the god-tier zone was their announcement against phones in the beginning. Wow, I wish every theatre did this! As you all probably know, it's actually hell seeing a movie these days. Everyone is so disrespectful on their phones, talking, etc. The staff took the time before the screening to say that they have a very strict no-phone policy and that you will be banned if it comes out. Also, no talking until after the movie. What I especially loved about this announcement, was how they emphasized that it's an insult to art to distract from the movie in these ways which is SO true. It was a great experience and I hope to come back next time I'm in Hollywood.

Every true cinephile in Los Angeles must see a film at New Beverly at least once. Owned by the fiercest of movie lovers, it's a classic, modest space truly celebrating the joy of cinema. My first film there was "Once Upon A Time...In Hollywood", a perfect experience. I was also there for the William Smith tribute double feature in November 2021. I wasn't sure how often QT actually shows up to introduce films - or if he ever does - but I felt there was a strong chance of him appearing at the William Smith double bill to shout the title of one of the films as many times as he could get away with it. The merch and movie snacks available at the cinema are delightful. At one of the screenings I attended, they offered Dr. Enuf - I haven't had a Dr. Enuf since I was in my hometown in Tennessee! Though parking in the area is tricky (and sometimes dangerous at night), there are plenty of good spots nearby for a pre- or post-show dinner: Bludso's BBQ on La Brea, and El Coyote right down the street from the cinema. Follow them on Instagram to be updated nearly daily of their upcoming screenings. Even if you've seen a favourite film a hundred times, it's a special experience to see it at New Beverly.

They had the French poster for "My Bloody Valentine" in the lobby!

This is a great, nostalgic theater for the self- proclaimed movie buff! If you are expecting this place to be a commercial, high tech theater then this place is not be for you. What you can expect at the New Beverly Cinema are movies played on its original 35 mm film projected on a teeny tiny screen. With that being said, try to get a seat up close! My date and I made the mistake of grabbing seats closer to the back to avoid neck strain, but we were quick to regret our choices. The seats are not set up on much of an adequate incline so half the screen was obstructed by the guy's head in front of me. It was my first time seeing "My Bloody Valentine" so it kind of killed it for me. No pun intended. The seats are pretty close together and cushions have lost its firmness from decades of butts. The people you'll meet at the New Beverly are all friendly and share a common bond- the love of great cinema. I think the average patron goes for the experience and not the "high quality". You may expect a long wait at the concession stand since it is very small. The line extended all the way into the theater. We went to a midnight screening and parking was easy to find on the residential street. I didn't use the restrooms, but my date did and he said they had recently upgraded! I'll take that as a good sign. Many great photo opportunities here, if you're into that thing!

Hey there! If we are trying to see a 12AM showing that is sold out, do we need to go to the box office for first come first serve tickets about an hour before show time or when the box office opens for the first showing of the day around 2PM?

For our midnight shows, box office & doors generally open around an hour before showtime and our additional batch of tickets become available at that time.

I'm visiting LA soon and due to a tight schedule I was curious if we can still check out the theater without buying a movie ticket?…

Hi! We sell a variety of fun merch at our concession stand and you’re welcome to stop by to shop during a show, even without a ticket.

Where does one park if you go to a 6:30 pm screening?

Hi! There are multiple areas of the surrounding residential neighborhood that generally provide ample parking opportunities for our early 6:30pm start times. We often recommend the large first block of Formosa (just west of the theater) above… Read more

Do you guys serve root beer?

Hi! Yes, we currently offer Dad’s Old Fashioned Root Beer and Frostie Vanilla Root Beer, both in glass bottles.

I bought tickets online but can't find confirmation email. My credit card was charged. What can I do?

Hi! Please send an email to ticketing@thenewbev.com with all the details and we can investigate and resend your ticket confirmation email.

Can you buy a ticket at the door during the first movie or immediately after it if you only plan on attending the second movie in a double feature?

If I'm only able to attend the second film of a double feature, how early should I get to the theater to get a seat? Or is it unlikely that I would have a seat because people always stay for both movies?

Do they serve slushies here?

Hi! No, unfortunately, we do not offer slushees at this time. We do have a selection of fountain sodas and bottled beverages, a wide variety of candies & sweet treats (some frozen), plus popcorn, hot dogs, sliders, and more.

What time should a party of 6 arrive for a midnight show if we have our tickets ahead of time to get decent seats?

Hi! We generally open our box office & doors a little after 11pm for our midnight shows. For a large party such as yours, I would suggest being in line then for your best chance at getting your desired seats.

Hi! I see that this has been asked early this year/last year, but is a vaccine card still required? Or would a negative test/mask do?

Hi! At this time (August 22, 2022), patrons are still required to provide proof of vaccination and matching photo ID. Reasonable accommodations will be provided to those needing it for religious or medical reasons with proof of negative Covid-19 PCR… Read more

A backdrop was set up for pics. They also had a green screen set up so guests could take a pic and be digitally placed in a scene of the movie. I thought that was cool. They also offered free popcorn with a fountain drink. Ordered a "Ginger Margarita" at the bar before entering the theater. It was about $21 for cocktail. Wish I would've purchased the "Cutwater" instead. For $10 or $11 it would've been better sipping on that than the 21oz or 24 oz drink. Being that they fill the cup with ice, you're not getting as much of a drink as you think. Didn't have any issues getting thru and having my wristband checked. Was able to just walk on thru. My son has been wanting to see Devil Wears Prada 2 and the first one is one of his favorite movies of all time. Personally, I don't like that movie but I went along with him. Tickets are $25 each and they have a $4 parking garage, but we were lucky enough to get a free after-hour meter on the street. It's a nice place and it seems like comfort is their top priority. The recliner chairs are extremely comfy and come with a blanket in case you get cold. You know how movie theaters are always chilly. Once you get settled, you can press a button that sends an employee over to take your order. It's completely optional. We got one small popcorn (light butter, $6) which was big enough for both of us. I like this idea of having the option of ordering and dining at your seat while watching a movie, but the reality is a bit different. It's kind of annoying to see the employees coming and going when someone needs a refill or places a new order during the movie. You can hear them talking and they can even block your view. It's frustrating when you are trying to focus. With that being said, I think it has more pros than cons. There are bars and bathrooms located across the several floors and the one we went to was exceptionally clean. I probably wouldn't go out of my way to come back to this theatre. I prefer something more standard like AMC or Pacific Theatres (RIP!)...

While I understand policies exist, I was surprised that no reasonable accommodation or alternative seating was offered for a disabled patron who was simply waiting for family. What upset me most was not just the lack of accessibility-minded accommodations, but the dismissive attitude I encountered from several employees and the difficulty I had even obtaining the manager's name. For a theater that emphasizes comfort and premium service, I expected far more compassion, professionalism, and awareness regarding accessibility needs.

I believe the first popcorn is either free or included with the ticket, which is a really nice touch. The food and drinks are solid, and the overall vibe is relaxed but thoughtfully curated. Definitely bring your own blankets, especially on cloudy or cooler nights, because it gets extra cozy. One tip is to always check the weather before going, since it is an outdoor rooftop experience. That said, the atmosphere is worth it, and I will absolutely keep booking here whenever I'm in the mood for a nostalgic movie night with a unique twist. We checked in at the front entrance and took the slow-moving elevator up to the rooftop. It wasn't a huge deal, but definitely something that stood out. When we got to the top, we were asked to fill out a waiver on our phones--super quick and easy, but honestly something that could've been done earlier when buying tickets online. Parking in the area was $20 at a lot across the street. Not terrible for a Friday night in LA, but still worth mentioning. Your ticket includes skate rental and one drink, so we grabbed a Paloma (the other option was not available) which hit the spot. Unfortunately, the skating surface was a bit of a letdown--treaded hard plastic mats that didn't offer a smooth ride. It took a lot of effort to move and wasn't beginner-friendly. Plus there was a tricky spot that tripped up more than a few skaters. The biggest surprise was the low energy overall--music was pretty quiet, and the vibe felt more relaxed than festive. We expected more of a party atmosphere for a Friday night rooftop in the heart of LA. It was still fun to do something different and hang out with our group, but unless they upgrade the floor or amp up the energy, it's probably a one-and-done for us. Tips: - Allow extra time for the elevator to the 3rd floor. - $20 parking lot across the street. - 1 Drink included, so grab one and make the most of it!
