    Wong pavers, wrong pattern.
    Valarie T.

2021 brand new community. Nothing but problems. Didn't show most days, worked 2-3days per week. Wrong color blocks installed at retaining wall. Not following agreed upon work and needed to constantly monitor and tell them to change it. Wrong pavers installed from promised photos. We are currently trenching because there is water leaking from every lawn sprinkler, flooding the yard. Looks like they spliced together spare parts with no seal at any joints! We have been doing nothing but fixing their work since they left. They shut off the water one weekend and left which ruined the 'new community landscape' out front and killed several plants and the lawn. Terrible patch job done to "fix" this. Pulled out landscape plants in their way and left on the ground to die. Drove a tractor OVER the front landscape water system, it's still flooding out front when it comes on every day and left huge tire trenches, just scraped what was left of my bark into the holes. So many things left undone but I just wanted them to leave. To top this off, despite me paying for everything upfront, notified me at last payment that he would release the lean against my house?!? You bet he must have had trouble getting paid in the past, no doubt about it!

Gary Holt did a great job on our new courtyard. I had been planning this project for a few years…read moreand he and his great team (Randy) made it happen. Gary listened to my ideas for the brick patio and during the project he was very responsive to my questions and input. He was on site on a regular basis and anytime I needed him to come out. Randy did a fabulous job prepping the area, installing all the bricks, plants, drip and fountain. There was a problem area in another part of the yard that they landscaped as well. This was a large job and a ton of labor. The team was onsite as promised, on time and worked all day. Gary scheduled our daily start and end times appropriately. This helped with some of my neighbors who like to complain but that did not happen. Gary is a good project manager, is very talented, has a ton of experience and has a good team. Plus, he is a really personable and a nice person. We are very happy with our new courtyard and use it all the time. Than you Gary!

I started my search back in March 2025 when visiting a Home & Garden show at Cal Expo. After speaking with a few reps at vendor tables and looking over the program book, I reached out to 7 landscape companies post show to attain proposals. 3 provided proposals but never followed up, 1 said they'd only consider submitting a proposal if the project was $50k or more (I have a smaller yard and, of course, a budget), 2 never replied to my "Contact Us" outreach from their website and then Gary and I connected. He and I met three times to discuss my initial ideas then had follow up communication via email and text. He has a great energy about him and offered some good suggestions to supplement my ideas; he's also a classy guy, offering landscaping services for over 30 years so he knows his stuff. His crew installed all the plumbing and irrigation for new sod, a small flower bed, plants and trees, a pool equipment fence and a fun 3-hole putting green. The crowning project was Gary's team took two sections of our back fence that faces an open field and created drop down tables from the top of the fence, so cool! The crew cut the top half of fence horizontally then added hinges and sliding locks to allow the top portion of the fence to drop down. Gary then suggested installing small posts to the top of the fence to act as table legs that conveniently fall into place when the top of the fence is opened. Now hubby and I can choose either fence to drop down and enjoy a wide open view. I would have included a photo but wasps seemed to congregate near the fence so I'll add a photo later. Gary's crew was great, with Randy as the project foreman making sure all tasks were going according to plan PLUS, he and the crew cleaned up each day they were here! It's hard to find a company/vendor you can trust to perform quality work. Gary Holt is one person that you can trust from start to finish. I will use him again when we have another landscaping project pop up!

We made a plan and they showed up when they said they would and left the workspace clean between work days. When I had concerns they immediately responded and took care of my concerns. Worst experience with a landscaper or contractor I've every had! The designer, David, was…read moreprofessional, attentive, and said all the right things; however, when the problems started, he no longer wanted to be involved. Andrew Rogers, the owner, was extremely difficult to work with. He was dismissive and unresponsive. In hindsight, I should have walked away from this company when Andrew made a big point of the fact that he does not come on site during the project. I questioned how his crew would know what to do. He assured me that he communicated with his crew every morning, and it would all be fine. Andrew does not communicate well with his crew. The errors began on Day 1 and continued throughout the project. On Day 1, I watched the crew start ripping up my existing mulch and weed fabric (the plan was to leave it). Then I watched them start putting back the now ripped up fabric. The crew told me they had made a mistake... My husband went out to look at the French Drain they were suppose to be installing. He questioned the crew because it didn't look like a French Drain to him. They said "Oh no. French Drains cost a lot. This isn't a French Drain." Well; thank goodness my husband noticed because they would have covered it with dirt, and we would have never known they had not installed the proper drain! We were paying $2400 for that French Drain. So they had to redo that. We were texting Andrew telling him that we were becoming alarmed because his workers did not seem to know what to do. Andrew was not answering my texts with my concerns, so I had my husband start texting him. Andrew would reply to my husband's texts, but not mine, even though I was the one who hired him, signed the contract and was going to pay him. I suspect he does not respect women. The design called for the continuation of an existing creek bed which Andrew said he could match, and the addition of some sod. When the rocks were delivered and did not match, he put the blame on us for not selecting the correct size rocks. We had hoped the "professional" landscaper would be able to match the rocks, and not put the burden on us. Thank goodness we were home throughout the project because the creek bed was not according to the design, and had to be redone multiple times. When we asked where the additional sod was, the crew said they didn't know anything about that. We were begging Andrew to come on site to guide his workers, since his crew was doing so many things wrong. On the 2nd to last day, Andrew finally came over to our property, only because we were so upset. Due to all the mistakes and redos, the project took longer, and on the last day the crew were rushing to leave. My husband went out to test the drips as they were leaving, and there was a huge leak. The crew left without putting drips on several plants, and we only noticed when plants started dying in a few days. We had to call them back because they never flushed the drip line and all the emitters became clogged and the plants were not being watered. We have asked Andrew to help us with the stretch of dying sod which they installed, and Andrew has ghosted us. Andrew sent us the final invoice on the last day. When I questioned the plant count and gallon sizes, he responded by sending me a new invoice with an additional $1200 of new charges he made up after the final invoice; I guess because he was mad I questioned the plant count? When I told him that overcharging is actually illegal, and we might need to contact the State Licensing Board, he quickly removed the charges. Although our project cost over $10,000 we wonder if maybe Rogers Landscaping does not want to bother with smaller landscaping projects. The crew he sent was not equipped to follow an intricate design. Andrew's communication with us, and with his crew was horrible. He does not own up to his company's mistakes.
