The name was nostalgic... representing our childhood in Flushing. We decided to venture out to the current relocated store in forest park on queens blvd to see if it has stood the test of time. Sadly we didn't feel it nor taste it. They say sometimes you can't go home again.

I stopped by Gloria Pizza because I was in a bit of a rush before a movie next door (thanks to those 25-minute previews). It was the perfect spot to grab a couple of quick slices. They just heat it up for you, and you can either take it to go or eat in which is super convenient either way. The pizza itself was decent. Nothing mind-blowing, but definitely did the trick. I'm not the only one who thinks so either the place had a steady stream of people coming and going, which tells you it's a go-to for a quick bite. Great for when you're on a tight schedule or just need something fast and reliable. Overall, it's not gourmet, but it's solid, fast, and hits the spot when you need it.

Just outside the movie theater, this pizzeria has that true neighborhood sense, welcoming yet modern. You can grab a quick slice for $5, kick back in front of the TV, and hop on the subway home. Convenient, honestly. I went with a classic cheese slice and a few garlic knots. They were decent; nothing too special, nothing bad either. The slice was thin and crispy, a little oily, but without that rich cheese flavor that could have pushed it over the top. Service was friendly, and my pizza came out in about five minutes. The pepperoni and cheese garlic knots taste how a slider made with pepperoni would be like. Good but of $3 for two, it is a little underwhelming.

This is a substantial part of what you see inside the glass case upon walking in.

I had been to Gloria Pizza before. I was using the main MTA subway station in Forest Hills and would be walking over to Austin Street and Forest Hills Gardens. It was slightly after lunch and I needed some sustenance. I saw Gloria Pizza and was studying how to best cross hectic Queens Boulevard to get there. Maybe I like this business's name because, when I hear it, the lyrics "Will you meet him on the Main Line ... or will you catch him on the rebound?" and "Will you marry for the money ... take a lover in afternoon?" go through my head. That name alone may have more built-in goodwill than they could have imagined when they opened the place. The restaurant interior is clean and bright. Most of what they have ready is in the glass cases. I saw the various pizzas and asked if they could add mushrooms to a slice. They could. Soft drinks are of the canned or bottled variety. The pizza was fine, but the mushrooms had a decidedly "added on" look and taste. The thin New York crust was to my liking. Since it didn't appear they had pizza with mushrooms already made and displayed for slices, maybe they can add one to their regular rotation. But then, what they display probably comes down to their knowing what sells. If I had to go with one ingredient on a pizza in addition to the cheese, it would be mushrooms ... by a mile. Another part of this exchange made things more interesting. I saw these round, golden, deep fried items and asked, "How much are those arancini?" I got a "huh" sort of response. The person behind the cases then added, 'Oh, the rice balls, they're (insert amount I didn't want to pay and have forgotten).' Gloria's goes back to the baby boom years and, like so many Italian eateries and bakeries, it might be (a little) less Italian. If you have a presumably Southern Italian eatery and have deep fried rice balls stuffed with other ingredients, you should know what arancini are. I finished my slice of pizza and walked out into Forest Hills with my beverage in hand. I had lunch and quelled my hunger. The price for the slice was a Forest Hills price, hence not $3.99, but the soft drink was priced like it would be anywhere else. The service was a little indifferent. I believe it was somewhat like that the first time I visited Gloria Pizza. Its main drawing card may be a great location on Queens Boulevard near the MTA station entrances. It doesn't take much energy to go to Gloria Pizza. Local folks are eating in this pizzeria. This is probably a decent option if you're a local, working nearby and needing something quick to eat, or just passing through the area like I was.

My Dad and I had a great lunch - since it was cold and rainy we started with soup. I was shocked with the extra large serving! I was picturing a small bowl! This was enough for a meal! (Even though we also ordered a sub lol) He had minestrone and I ordered chicken noodle Delicious! Then they brought over the eggplant parm sub. Even though it's called Gloria pizza, it's more like a regular Italian restaurant. The waitress brought everything over to us- and we got the best table- window seat with view There's cool decor with black and white photos Such big servings, so there was leftovers. The place is popular, but there's plenty of tables with fast and friendly service. A true local spot. Reminds me of when Norm goes to Cheers bar- where everybody knows your name!

4$. For a mini slice.. smh.. come on stop blaming inflation when other pizza shops the slices are bigger

The restaurant was…read morepacked when we arrived on a Friday night, but thankfully did not have to wait as we didn't need a booth. We ordered a large pie with pepperoni and a calzone with sausage. Both items came out together like we asked and was far too much food for two. My first bite of the pizza was hot, crunchy, and delicious. I love fresh oven pizzas with a crispy bottom crust. The chefs did an amazing job cooking it just right. I also loved the fresh mozzarella cheese and fresh basil. It really elevated the pizza to another level. The crust was great all around with a slight oven char. Lastly the calzone took me by surprise as it had no sauce and was filled with ricotta cheese as opposed to mozzarella. It came with a small cup of hot marinara sauce for dipping/pouring. It was definitely an interesting calzone but don't think it was worth the price. Overall, I really enjoyed my experience and Nick's and would highly recommend it. I do wish the pricing was a bit more fair when it came to full vs half pie toppings as well as the calzone.

My friend has a newborn and we were trying to find restaurants in the area that would be stroller-friendly (which actually isn't an easy task, to my surprise) and finally landed on Nick's because we had gone there together when it reopened. And it always seems very family and kid-friendly. We definitely went to the right place. I'm not a parent and I've never pushed a stroller without some bumps here and there, and I was so worried about helping get the stroller through the 2 doors. One of his staff saw us from the inside and immediately came out to help as soon as we reached for the door. Nick's paternal instincts definitely came into full effect because he looked out for us and wanted to give us the best seats so that we can have the stroller beside us. The pizza is excellent and I absolutely would come here over again and again, but the warm service from Nick himself and his staff is what truly makes this place so special in the community for so long. I didn't get a chance to come here during those formative years before the fire but when the restaurant finally reopened last year, it was incredibly sad to hear Nick explain how the fire and rebuilding devastated him and the business for over 2 years.

I felt slightly intimidated from the look of the place on the outside because it would seem like a middle class to upper class Restaurant but inside, it does look very nice but the setting is very much casual for its basically an upscale Pizzeria. However I didn't have pizza in mind, I went for something bigger and that would be the Chicken Parmigiana along with Root Beer which tallied up to $32 so not too bad. I contemplated about getting Dessert but I ultimately forgone it, which was a good decision in the long run because the chicken parm order was surprisingly hefty. I've gotten used to smaller portions being served in restaurants nowadays and I was expecting I'm gonna be hungry later eventually, but I sure was proven wrong. That meal filled me up proper, a little too proper because I felt absolutely stuffed after eating it all. I'm not one to complain about a good problem. Sure I felt uncomfortable, bloated and sluggish after eating that meal but I will take that any day in the week over feeling unsatisfied and unfulfilled because if you're gonna spend $30+ on a meal, you SHOULD get your money's worth and that was a meal I could very well split with two and felt very fine with that. So props to PC for a gut busting meal, for the price I paid for lunch, I should feel like I'm going to spontaneously combust, better that than still feeling empty. That was an amazing meal that I'm STILL feeling the effects of as I write this review going on 8 PM on the same day I ate there at 12:30 PM.
