    Queso. Don't do it.
    Lauren H.

Service was great. They had a live one man band there for Mother's Day. He was awesome! The menu is expansive and you can pretty much modify anything you want. However, we did order the queso and had to send it back. I don't know what that was but it was not queso. It tasted like liquid cardboard. Our server was super gracious and took it back because we couldn't eat it. Everything else, food wise, was pretty good!

We were in the area yesterday and decided to give Amelia's a go. The chips are what make us not go to this place more. They are so thick! They are definitely made in house. The salsa is good though. The queso was pretty watered down and not a lot of flavor. I had already ordered my dinner which had more watery queso but it was still good. My husband had the fajitas and the steak was really good. Definitely the best thing that was ordered. The rice and beans were good as well. The service is really good here. They are always very nice. To wrap it up, the food is good but not great.

Amelia's Mexican Restaurant puts the home in Homemade! The super soft and tasty tortillas are the best in DFW. The welcoming atmosphere and friendly staff make dining here a pleasure. Bryan was our waiter and he guided us through the menu to order exactly what matched our taste. The fajitas, chile Relleno, and deep fried chimichanga were prepared perfectly. The only negative was the chips and salsa. Specifically, the chips were hard as a rock. The salsa had a sweetness not typical of tex mex standards . Don't get me wrong ,they were satisfactory, just not my style. The bar was good and happy hour all day Tuesday was a bonus this initial visit. This is a well run family business and you will notice it in every detail. The Rowlett community has a fine Tex Mex establishment to enjoy. If in the area make sure you stop by. It's worth the trip.

Liked their food and their very courteous service. The server was really good. Food was served hot and was quick. Their portions are good. Churro was excellent. The fajitas for 3 Will fill a family of 5 if you eat like us. Looks like a whole in the wall but the setting is casual and neat. Like this place a lot.

The Solid Tex-Mex Enchiladas I've Been Searching For! Since moving to the East Dallas area, we've been searching for good Tex-Mex Cheese with Chili con Queso Enchiladas and these are so far the best we have found. The restaurant was dimly lit but clean and had a really nice atmosphere. The service was good, and everything we tried exceeded our expectations. We will be back!

Just what I was craving for on a Saturday night and it hiiit the spot! Chips and salsa were great. The Saturday evening we stopped in they happened to have live music. It was a bit loud to be able to enjoy a conversation but the musician was very talented. I ordered the chicken fajitas which was a nice portion. I will say there was a LOT of onions, like more than necessary, and very few peppers. They also came with only 3 tortillas but there was plenty more than 3 tortillas worth of food. I did ask for more but was charged $2 for them. I really think at least 4-5 is more appropriate without an additional charge. Other than that would likely go back again when we're in town!

Enchilada was nasty. The fajitas were pretty good, but the meat had some type of flavor on it nasty

A week later and I am still thinking about the delicious food and fantastic service! We didn't wait…read moresuper long for a table and the hosts were great. We took my dad to dinner and he complained that it was a little loud, but felt like we sat right under a speaker. I explained to him that it was part of the "vibe". Other than the volume making it difficult to hear, everything was fantastic. We probably could have asked to sit on the heated patio. The chips were warm and fresh and came with both red and green salsa, and both were super tasty. My husband asked if I could make salsa like that at home! We ordered drinks and they came quickly. I appreciated the quality of the drinks especially since we mostly ordered from their drink menu. We ordered "The Good Guac" to start and our server made sure that it wasn't too spicy or anything for my dad. I thought that was very thoughtful that she asked if how it came was ok. For food we ordered street tacos, Baja fish tacos and the parillada en fuego. The food runner seemed confused and brought us another dish (maybe the Verde molcajete) but with the loud music the message that we didn't order it was lost in translation. My husband thought maybe it was what he ordered and started in. Because our server came to check on us so quickly, she caught the mistake right away. She apologized profusely and said they were bringing what we ordered. They allowed us to keep the dish, and no sooner did we have a few bites of the deliciousness the correct food came out. They checked on us quickly, apologized profusely, brought the correct food immediately, let us keep the other food, sent another manager to apologize and finally followed up with coupons to return after making sure we were satisfied with how they handled it. I understand humans make mistakes, so I feel like the recovery or response is what is important. This is the type of amazing service that will keep us coming back. We were actually happy with the mistake as we were able to try another dish we likely wouldn't have ordered (but ended up being our favorite thing to eat). The ambiance was fun, parking was easy, the wait was reasonable, the service was FANTASTIC, the food was delicious and food/drinks were made with quality ingredients. We'll be back!

The decorum is cool if you like fake plants. Though they add cool lighting, which helps. Food, well I wish I could give it five stars, but my second visit confirmed my feelings about the food. It's super spicy, and the portions for the price are crazy small. Don't count on sharing. So, if you can go during a happy hour give it a try. Otherwise, there are better places for Mexican food.

Many times you go and eat enchiladas and the chicken is flavorless, Not Here. Chicken Enchiladas is Very Tasty the chicken itself is seasoned, together with the toppings makes for perfection. The Chimmi filled with Brisket was Excellent. Just the right amount of crispness with a smooth tender center, The sour cream and cheese topping was Delicious, The cheese topping is very good. Everything was served piping hot, Im thinking everything is made from a Family recipe like I say.. made with not only skilled hand but with pride, not many places serve food made with pride. They are Happy to serve you. Very friendly place. The waiting staff is fast to Take your order with smiles and are actually Very happy to give fast friendly service. The Dinning area is spacious with a decorative decor, Solid real tables, not those fake cheaply made tables like Panchos...Really tables for Real comfort, I don't know about yall but to me that means alot, no wobbly water glass spilling tables. Built for a Real Family. It kinda give you a Home Feeling. Most places have plastic fake plants... Well Here they are real. Snake plants, ivy plants and you can tell they are very well cared for. I've eaten in a lot of places that have decor with dust gathering on them, I can mention a few places where the dust hides from lack of real cleaning. Well, be sure this is not one of those places, you will enjoy clean fresh atmosphere here, its relaxing. Ernesto has come a long way for a family restaurant. No commercial hands here, all home made, not stuff out of a can. Theres plenty of seating, so if your tired of the same Ole chain restaurant bla bla. This is the place to go for lunch, dinner or happy hour for a nice meal. They do have a bar , what Mexican Restaurant doesn't...wait take that back...any Real Mexican Restaurant does. Well the menu has great choices, Try them out, Im sure you guys will enjoy the Atmosphere and the cuisine are Great. Oh..don't be surprised if you get addicted to Real Mexican Cuisine.
