We'd driven by this place a few times, and decided to stop in tonight for dinner. So glad we did! We were greeted by Dana, who was also our server. She was fantastic - brought things quickly and got everything right, and made sure to check on us frequently. We thought the margaritas were a little over priced, but understood once they came out - they're HUGE and quite strong. One was more than enough. The food was also great. It came out fast, and everything was cooked perfectly and very tasty. The inside of the restaurant is also lovely. Whoever picked the decor and color scheme did a fantastic job. Our only complaint is a minor one: there were several flies that we had to continuously swat away while we were eating. They might want to put up a trap somewhere hidden to keep the pests at bay. It always pains me to leave lower reviews but the food we got was less than edible. We ordered to go and the food was ready fast (less than 15min) but once it got home the odd smell was the first thing to hit us. We got chicken nachos, carne asada and chicken enchiladas with "special cheese sauce" which ended up being processed cheese melted on top. The chicken on the nachos was chewy, the tortillas in the enchiladas were so gummy they would stick to the roof of your mouth, the carne asada was rubber and the rice included in all the meals had a ghastly feet smell. Do NOT go if you have a shellfish allergy. They put shrimp in food and don't tell you or list on menu. We ordered molcajete which says chicken, beef and cactus, then veggies. When we started eating it, it tasted weird, like seafood. We found shrimp in it. When we told the waitress about it not being on the menu, she said that you can't even taste the shrimp. That I can only taste it because I don't like shrimp. What the heck?!? Also, it's not spicy. At all. Nothing had a kick to it and they only have white queso. read more

I really like this place for their enchiladas with chicken fajita meat on it, I think it's their Don Pancho or something like that. If I'm craving cheese enchiladas this is my go to. Some items are not my favorite like their crispy tacos. I couldn't eat them because of the grease. My server noticed and made sure to trade it out for something I could eat so at least the service is good. They could also work o making sure there's ALWAYS someone there to greet. Several times we've either walked out or almost walked out because we waited several minutes with no one checking the front. The ambiance is ok, I do like their star chandeliers but it's sort of basic otherwise. Those enchiladas keep me coming back. Lol read more

Went here tonight. Ordered seafood fajitas. After about 10 minutes waitress comes back and says they don't have shrimp. She said we could just sub more scallops and crabmeat. Finally tried this place. Love the building, decor, and seating. I measure Mexican restaurants by the chips and salsa. Chips were good, a nice size bowl, crunchy and tasty. Brilliant idea-providing individual salsa refills! The salsa was a step below Pace. No real flavor and not fresh. Disappointed. I ordered 3 cheese enchiladas w/ salsa verde. Good serving size and hot. Major bummer the cheese was a highly processed white American cheese. Not the typical enchilada cheese, and used for everything. It really wasn't good. The salsa verde sauce was okay but couldn't cover up the low quality cheese. The rice was nothing special. Service was attentive. read more

Was looking forward to trying this place but should have realized since it was in the old spot of a failing Italian restaurant that should be a sign. The staff was very cordial, sat us but the place was rampant with flies which is a hygiene issue for me. The manager gave us a complimentary queso which made us feel even more welcomed and I chose to go with the street tacos instead of the fajitas as planned just due to not having seen anyone else order them yet. Got fries for my daughter and the small order along with us needed to use a plug seemed to change the attitude of the staff. The tacos lacked flavor though the friends were super fresh. They tried to charge us for the queso which I was annoyed with and by now the demeanor of the staff had changed drastically which was disappointing. Asedero House has become our favorite Tex Mex restaurant. The spicy margarita is fantastic and so are the blue Curacao, coconut pineapple and their house margarita. Their street tacos are Superior to all other restaurants. The Asadero Special showcases their steak and chicken with a cheese enchilada and comes with tortillas. Another favorite of mine. My first visit to Asadero. It is a very nice, clean restaurant. There was room for large groups. The rest rooms were very clean. The service was excellent. The food was served promptly and very hot temp. It was Cinco de Mayo so every table got complimentary queso, Guacamole and Jell-O shots! If they continue that for a Happy Hour it would make the best HH in the area. Now the food. The food was good. On a spicey scale it was probably a 1. I like a 5. Asadora Special had tough, chewy steak and over cooked chicken. Tortillas tasted commercially made. Queso tasted like melted velvet and lacked hotel tomatoes and any other addition. Cleanest restaurant in Rowlett!!!! We were so impressed we told them. They said they actually mop in the mornings before opening and at closing so 2x day. The food was extremely fresh and very good. More traditional Mexican food - not texmex. My husband enjoyed the combo fajitas and I had a beef enchilada and tamale with red sauce. We will definitely be going back and this will be one of our regular spots. Way to go Asadero House! read more

Chicken fajita nachos were inconsistent cuts of unseasoned chicken on top of thick chips w grilled white onions, a few green pepper slices and a watered-down white cheese sauce. 8/29/25: I ate here last nite 8/28/25. And it was amazing. My fav mexican restaurant used to be Mi Cocina. But this place is amazing. Not many drink choices but they have any margaritas options you would want. Drinks are not as strong as Mi Cocina but the food is amazing. The staff are amazing. Our server checked on us so often, I felt like we were her only customers and we weren't. OMG, I have told my friends and family about this place. Now I am telling you. My husband and I went here today for the first time. We split the Fajitas Jaslisco (beef, chicken and shrimp fajitas) it was very good. Portion sizes were huge, we had leftovers to take home. The margaritas were also very good. The service was fantastic and our waiter checked in with us several times to make sure we had everything we needed. I am looking forward to trying more menu items. Food was horrible. I had the Birria tacos and they tasted weird. The tortillas weren't fully dipped in the cosome prior to frying them and the cheese tasted like velveeta.
