I decided to check this place out on a whim and am glad I did! I had the radiance pedicure ($50) with a parafin wax service ($15). The basic pedi is $37. This is best pedi I have had in years. The tech took her time, the massage was great, and the paint job looks excellent. The decor is beautiful and the massage chairs are the best I've had. They have arm compressors! First of all, i want to thank Julie and Tami for taking care of me and being so friendly This is a newer salon in San Leandro, so the new salon vibes are still there. I opted to try for the cat eye style gel polish on my hands (mind you, i never get gel polish on my hands because of my job) and i was disappointed in the results. I gave it a day to actually show the real results but it ended up looking like glitter nail polish which is what i didnt want. It supposed to look more glossy and 3D. I spend an extra $15 for this. I spent a total of $115 for a mani and pedi with gel polish on toes +$17 . Thats not including tip. I wish i just went to the place i usually go to who charges me less than that and includes tip. read more

I was so excited to try this new nail salon after seeing the cute Gel-X nail art on their Yelp page, and they completely exceeded my expectations. I called the day before to book a Wednesday afternoon appointment for a mani/pedi. The moment I walked in, I was warmly greeted and quickly seated for my manicure. I had my sister with me, and the staff was incredibly accommodating and sweet about letting her sit with me and keep me company. Nancy did my nails, and she was so sweet and artistic! I showed her a picture of the nail art I wanted, and she was so helpful in picking out the perfect colors to match the vision. I deeply appreciated her incredible attention to detail and how she kept checking in with questions to ensure I was completely happy with the design. For the pedicure, I tried the #4 option, and oh my goodness... it was amazing. I literally just left 10 mins ago! I went into this nail salon specifically for a builder gel removal and nothing else. When I walked in, I asked what time they closed and explained that my mom needed to be somewhere at 6 PM. I asked how long the removal would take, and I was told approximately 30 minutes. I explained very clearly that I only wanted the builder gel removed because I wanted to keep my natural nails--I did NOT want my nails cut down or damaged. I had already removed all of my polish myself before coming in. The service was simply removing the builder gel. There was no manicure, no polish, no buffing, and no additional service. I sat down at approximately 5:36 PM and was finished and checking out around 6:00 PM so it didn't even take the full 30 minutes I was quoted. Then I was charged $25 for the removal. When I questioned the price, I was told that removal would have been $15 if I had gotten another service, but because I was ONLY getting the removal, they charged me $25. My issue is that this price was never communicated to me before the service. If I had been told upfront, "Removal by itself is $25, but it's $15 with another service," I could have decided whether I wanted to proceed or not! Instead, I was told the approximate time, sat down, had the service done, and only found out about the $25 charge when it was time to pay. For what was essentially a quick builder gel removal with the polish already removed by me, I found the charge extremely unreasonable, especially when the pricing policy was never disclosed beforehand. I understand that businesses can set their own prices, but customers should be told the price before the service is performed, particularly when there is a significant difference between the standalone price and the add-on price. Unfortunately, this experience left a very bad impression, and I would not return. I'm also attaching a photo of my nails after the service. You can still see some of the orange polish/product remaining on my nails. It's minor, and I want to be fair about that, but when I'm paying $25 for a removal-only service, I expect the removal to at least be completed properly. So to pay $25 for a service that took less than 30 minutes, involved no other service, and still left some visible polish/product behind was extremely disappointing. Again, my biggest issue is that I was never told the standalone removal price was $25 before the service. Had I known that upfront, I could have made an informed decision about whether I wanted to pay that much for the service. Services were done by Kara read more

Service: Linh and Tara worked on my gel nails with care, precision and thoughtfulness. All of their equipment is brand new and they offer complementary drinks. Pricing and Time: It took two hours to get my nails done because I couldn't find the shade of yellow I was looking for. They re-did my toes to my match my hands without hesitation. I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience here was terrible. I came back only a few days after my pedicure because one of my toes was not done correctly. Instead of listening to my concern, I was told loudly, "No, we did your feet a long time ago." I had to pull up my bank statement to prove I had just been there. After finally agreeing to fix the toe, the repair was rushed and sloppy. It honestly looked worse than before. There was no apology, no accountability, and no concern for customer satisfaction. To make matters worse, the staff spent most of the time talking among themselves while I sat there feeling uncomfortable and ignored. I paid for a professional service and did not receive one. The quality of work and the way I was treated were both disappointing. I will not be returning and would not recommend this salon to others. Update to the response: Thank you for your response, but I disagree with your characterization of what happened. My issue was never just a "small chip." The quality of the repair itself was poor and looked rushed. When I returned, I was immediately told loudly that my service had been done "a long time ago," which was embarrassing and inaccurate until I showed proof of my visit. While I appreciate that you offered a complimentary repair, the result was sloppy and did not resolve the issue. A free fix is not helpful when the quality of the work remains unsatisfactory. I also did not feel welcomed as a customer. Throughout my visit, staff were having conversations among themselves, which made it difficult to feel included or comfortable as a paying customer. At the end of the day, this review reflects my personal experience. I paid for a service, was unhappy with the workmanship, and was disappointed with how my concerns were handled. This is a pretty new shop (been open a month or so) & you can tell by the inside. Everything looks fresh & new. The black & gold aesthetic is nice. The pedicure chairs are full body massaging chairs, which includes your bum & arms. I left off a star because the chairs did not run hot water, they had to use electric kettles to warm the water. The power to the chair also turned off mid-pedicure and the owner had to go to the back/breaker box to get the power back on. This should be fixed before "grand opening." There was a white residue left on the bottom of my nail extensions that could have been wiped clean with some effort. After I cleaned that off at home, my nails came out looking great! If they take the time to fix some of these things mentioned, it's a really nice shop. Prices are reasonable. read more

This is a brand new nail salon and they're still in the process of opening up. I recently stopped by to get gel x and I'm very satisfied with the service. Cindy, the nail tech who did my nails did a great job. She took her time and we had a great conversation as well. My daughter also got the kids Mani Pedi and she enjoyed it. I paid $47 for the kids mani pedi, I think it should be brought down to $40 since that's what most places charge but all in all I was happy with the experience. Glossy Nail Lounge is everything you want in a nail salon. Quiet, affordable, friendly, excellent service and the prettiest salon I've ever been in.
