I've been to a lot of nail salons over the years, and I can honestly say Glossy Nails has completely changed my expectations. As a busy working mom of 2, I rarely get my nails done. But now I am thinking about make it a part of my routine, if it means I get to come here and unwind! From the moment we walked in, the customer service was incredible. I've stayed away from acrylics for the past few years because I've had too many bad experiences at "chop shop" salons where it felt like tools were being reused without proper sanitation. At Glossy Nails, you can genuinely tell they care about their clients' health and safety. Everything was spotless, organized, and professionally sanitized, which immediately put me at ease. The hospitality was above and beyond. They offered complimentary snacks and refreshments, checked in on us throughout our appointments, and truly made us feel comfortable. I also brought my boyfriend and our 2-year-old daughter with us. We came on a Thursday evening when it wasn't too busy, and the staff went out of their way to help keep our little one entertained so my boyfriend and I could actually relax and enjoy our appointments. We were both honestly in shock at how kind, patient, and accommodating everyone was. They made sure all three of us felt welcome, and it never felt like we were inconveniencing anyone. The salon itself is absolutely beautiful, clean, and has such a relaxing atmosphere. On top of that, our nails turned out exactly how we asked--no rushing, no cutting corners, just quality work. I really wanted to give positive feedback to this place but i just got so disappointed. First of all, i want to thank Julie and Tami for taking care of me and being so friendly This is a newer salon in San Leandro, so the new salon vibes are still there. I opted to try for the cat eye style gel polish on my hands (mind you, i never get gel polish on my hands because of my job) and i was disappointed in the results. I gave it a day to actually show the real results but it ended up looking like glitter nail polish which is what i didnt want. It supposed to look more glossy and 3D. I spend an extra $15 for this. I spent a total of $115 for a mani and pedi with gel polish on toes +$17 . Thats not including tip. I wish i just went to the place i usually go to who charges me less than that and includes tip. read more

I was so excited to try this new nail salon after seeing the cute Gel-X nail art on their Yelp page, and they completely exceeded my expectations. I called the day before to book a Wednesday afternoon appointment for a mani/pedi. The moment I walked in, I was warmly greeted and quickly seated for my manicure. I had my sister with me, and the staff was incredibly accommodating and sweet about letting her sit with me and keep me company. Nancy did my nails, and she was so sweet and artistic! I showed her a picture of the nail art I wanted, and she was so helpful in picking out the perfect colors to match the vision. I deeply appreciated her incredible attention to detail and how she kept checking in with questions to ensure I was completely happy with the design. For the pedicure, I tried the #4 option, and oh my goodness... it was amazing. I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience here was terrible. I came back only a few days after my pedicure because one of my toes was not done correctly. Instead of listening to my concern, I was told loudly, "No, we did your feet a long time ago." I had to pull up my bank statement to prove I had just been there. After finally agreeing to fix the toe, the repair was rushed and sloppy. It honestly looked worse than before. There was no apology, no accountability, and no concern for customer satisfaction. To make matters worse, the staff spent most of the time talking among themselves while I sat there feeling uncomfortable and ignored. I paid for a professional service and did not receive one. The quality of work and the way I was treated were both disappointing. I will not be returning and would not recommend this salon to others. Update to the response: Thank you for your response, but I disagree with your characterization of what happened. My issue was never just a "small chip." The quality of the repair itself was poor and looked rushed. When I returned, I was immediately told loudly that my service had been done "a long time ago," which was embarrassing and inaccurate until I showed proof of my visit. While I appreciate that you offered a complimentary repair, the result was sloppy and did not resolve the issue. A free fix is not helpful when the quality of the work remains unsatisfactory. I also did not feel welcomed as a customer. Throughout my visit, staff were having conversations among themselves, which made it difficult to feel included or comfortable as a paying customer. At the end of the day, this review reflects my personal experience. I paid for a service, was unhappy with the workmanship, and was disappointed with how my concerns were handled. This is a pretty new shop (been open a month or so) & you can tell by the inside. Everything looks fresh & new. The black & gold aesthetic is nice. The pedicure chairs are full body massaging chairs, which includes your bum & arms. I left off a star because the chairs did not run hot water, they had to use electric kettles to warm the water. The power to the chair also turned off mid-pedicure and the owner had to go to the back/breaker box to get the power back on. This should be fixed before "grand opening." There was a white residue left on the bottom of my nail extensions that could have been wiped clean with some effort. After I cleaned that off at home, my nails came out looking great! If they take the time to fix some of these things mentioned, it's a really nice shop. Prices are reasonable. read more

This is a brand new nail salon and they're still in the process of opening up. I recently stopped by to get gel x and I'm very satisfied with the service. Cindy, the nail tech who did my nails did a great job. She took her time and we had a great conversation as well. My daughter also got the kids Mani Pedi and she enjoyed it. I paid $47 for the kids mani pedi, I think it should be brought down to $40 since that's what most places charge but all in all I was happy with the experience. Alrighty, a new nail spot in the area and as you may know nail shops and taco trucks have saturated the market to the point of low return. Requested a builder gel fill and received said service. Along the way my lovely nail check with me to ensure I was as satisfied could be with a fill that was a bit past its removal date. Vibe was soft opening but has a lot to offer and an abundance of potential. My two gripes is a asked for a little trim on my nails and was initially told that there would be an extra charge but after I said no, I'll keep the length and she proceeded with the service. She said you know what actually I'll do a little trim for you. Appreciate this and gladly accepted but I do feel it should be a service that is free of charge when paying for your services. Second gripe is I have been growing my natural nails since I had back surgery and they are thin and weak but steadfast, and haven't broken completely on me yet the tech kept trying to sell me on gel X, which is quicker and easier for them. I get it but at the same time that's not what I asked for when I came in. So please dnt tell me my nails are thin and will look ugly and not shaped good because thats how they look after my previous nail work has been filed off and gel x would be better. If the builder gel is filed down and filled properly, then the nails shouldn't look ugly, thin or weak, which is why I proceeded with my builder gel anyways and I'm completely satisfied. I will definitely be returning and giving them a second chance, but do you think that they have some work as far as when it comes to upsell and keeping to appointments. Had I done a removal of the old set and started a new I think it would've looked a lot better. I do have to add, but they don't do typical manicure stuff before the gel fill which I do think is needed in order for a proper filter to stay. read more

I wanted to like this new business but it was bad from the second we walked in. I made an appt for me and my daughter at 1pm for a couple of mani/pedis. We arrive a couple minutes early and the crew immediately looked confused and spoke to each other in their native language. I was then told they were running a few minutes behind and asked if we can wait. Only after I asked how long the wait would be, once again, they spoke amongst themselves and I was told by a guy that seemed to work there, to sit in the chair for a pedicure. The guy clearly was trying to fill and get me started before I would decide to leave. He had me soak my feet in lukewarm water, borderline cold. I chose a color from the book I was handed an he came back with a completely different color. He couldn't find the color I wanted so I chose a second, same thing happened, so I chose a third. No lie, we went through 6 colors until he found my 7th choice. It was not even a weird color, I went from different shades of brown to burgundy. It was almost 2pm when I again asked when will my daughter be serviced. I was told they were almost ready. I was finally offered some tea at that point and they asked my daughter to sit in the pedi chair just so she can get a massage while she waits. After about another 30 minutes, they had her sit at the mani station to get started on her nails. After a low level pedi, I was directed to the mani station and told to sit. Apparently, they expected me to sit on the floor because there was no chair!! To make things easy for them, I just told them to use the same color on my finger nails that they used on my toes. I have to say, the ladies were all very nice but the service...ugh! Once I was done, I sat to wait for my daughter. At that time, they apologized and told me they actually gave our appt away to a couple of ladies that got there right before we did. Never asked for the name on the reservation, just gave them our appts! Came time to pay. And you would think they would have offered the same discount they gave the ladies that took out appt..but no! I had approx 4 people hovering over the credit card machine and actually watched how much tip I was including. I left a small tip just because the ladies were nice and apologetic. I get in my car and I find out they upgraded my daughter's pedi after she told them she just needed the basic one. After ALL THAT, I wasn't going to write a review because I wanted to give them a benefit of the doubt because they were a new business, but ONE DAY after my mani the gel polish on one of my nails is already peeling off!! I spent over $200 and now I'm really upset! I highly do not recommend this nail salon. What a disaster! read more
