While she was working, I felt her going near my hairline, so I reminded her again not to touch those hairs.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] When she finished and handed me the mirror, I saw she had given me a full "man hairline" and removed all my baby hairs -- exactly what I told her not to do. I literally have to get bangs just to cover it because of how badly she messed it up. And I broke out in really bad acne because the rose water or whatever she used after. My eyebrows were messed up. I asked her for a cleanup and instead she removed the wing completely from my right eyebrow and told me everything was fine when it wasn't. There's nothing you can do to fix it now I have my eyebrows that look like a straight line after all I asked was for a cleanup. My money was not reimbursed. Still, the team at Ziba are all very nice and friendly and worth a visit. The best part is that they really take the time before the threading, during, and after to make sure you're looking fresh before you leave the chair. They even give you hand sanitizer before starting (and this was pre-pandemic). The service takes about 15 minutes; they thoroughly clean and perfect your brow shape and it doesn't hurt at all. Sometimes there's a bit of a wait, but the front desk staff are very organized in setting you up to either wait there or some back in very accurate estimates. Out of all the times I've been here, I never had the chance to work with Amar and all the Yelp reviews are raving about her so I thought today was my lucky day. We easily checked in on the iPad and there was a quick lull on a Sunday afternoon so we didn't have to wait. Warning - do not go to Ziba beauty for an eyebrow wax. This was my first time and I was directed to sit in a chair. A woman came over and said hi and told me to lay back. She immediately started getting tools out and approached to start work on me, I noticed she had threading materials and not any type of wax so I said no I'm here for a wax - I called ahead and just told the desk that. She apologized which is no big deal, but then she immediately got out the wax and started working. I've gone to many salons and typically, especially with a first time client, they'll ask how you want them to look or if you have any preferences. For example, I don't like having the top waxed. Well she started working and of course did that first. As she was doing them I said excuse me I'd really like to keep them thick, don't wax too much in the middle and tried to tell her how I like them to look. I definitely felt uneasy - I trust that she was a professional but also everyone has different preferences / styles they like. I wasn't really sure how she was doing them, some communication would have been nice. I've been getting my brows waxed for 15 years and this was way more painful than any I've ever gotten. It turns out she ripped a chunk of my skin off just above the eyelid. I have a nice big red and super painful mark the day after I had it done. I've had 2 people ask me "what happened to your eye" so it's def noticeable. I didn't even have hair in that spot so I'm not sure what was she doing? The shaping wasn't great either just okay. Definitely not worth having your skin ripped off. I'll never go back. read more

Don't ever come here!!!!!. If you have anything close to decent eyebrows they will thin it out even if you ask for a simple clean up, which is what I did. I grew out my eyebrows for 2 months and the lady messed them up. She thinned it out and made it patchy . I never leave reviews like this but that how upset I am. After showing how upset I was to the manager she still charged me full price and showed no remorse. Save your Money and go elsewhere. West lake shopping center near by has a better threading studio! Much hype over a*ar... She's cool, but she somehow manages to thin my eyebrows each time even though I just come in for a cleaning. Also, if you choose her, you'll have to wait a while. I usually walk in and choose "anyone available" and whoever I get tends to clean up my brows without causing any damages. My favorite brow girl is probably the older short lady with glasses, I forget her name, but she is gentle and efficient. It's really a hit or miss here... Ziba is the only threading place I can find in Daly City for a decent price ($12). I've had various artists do my brows and I can't remember the name of the quiet, Indian lady that threading mine sooo well. She's super detail-orientated and takes her time - which i totally appreciate! But I've also had other ladies that work super quickly for the clean up and they make my brows way more crooked than they already are! :( I remember trying to explain to this chinese lady that my right brow is higher than my left and all she did was clean it up which did not fix the crooked-ness... Been coming here for years and I've always loved getting my eyebrows done. I feel in my personal opinion people who complain about un even eyebrows make no sense. Eyebrows are meant to be exactly the same. Plus it's hair it grows back. Anyways, I get waxed here by Rita and she's amazing! Located in serramonte, I come here every time I need my brows threaded. They recently moved into a smaller location, but still close to their original suite. I usually do walk in, but you can make a reservation through their website. I would note that their hours do get mixed up and would just aim for midday versus right when they open/close. I've never had to wait more than 15 minutes as a walk-in. I typically go for whoever is available first and have been happy every time. There's usually 2 or 3 people doing hair and 1 at the counter. They have a brow package deal as well as combo packages if you want multiple areas done. I usually do my brows and upper lip. They always do my brows really nice and they offer toner once they're done. I would recommend this place as it's convenient and affordable. read more

I usually always come here for eyebrows typically do a good job but this last visit was terrible. DO NOT COME HERE AT ALL unless you want uneven eyebrows. I always get a clean up and state I do not want my eyebrows thin or rounded. And they gave me exactly what I didn't want. I asked for someone else to take over because the lady who was helping me kept denying that my eyebrows were uneven when you can clearly see one eyebrow is thicker than another bc she took off too many. When I was getting my service done she kept tweezing my eyebrows but I wanted them to be threaded !! What's the point of going to a threading place if all you are going to do is tweeze ? First of all - communicate was a challenge. I booked an appt for an eyebrow thread. She threaded my brows which was fine then sold me a tint. I have to mention - I'm blonde and my brows are very light. The tint job was terrible. I had two uneven shaped lines for brows with no arch. They looked very unnatural. I couldn't wait to get home and try to take them off. You know the eyebrow stencils sold in advertisements on Facebook well that what I got for my tint. Thanks goodness it will fade in a week or so. I went to Ziba's to try threading for the SECOND time ever. My first time was at Tanforan Mall and they fucked up my brows SO bad (check my Yelp gallery to see photo). Anyway, I went to Amar because of the great reviews of her here on Yelp. My first time with her was pretty good. A little thinner than I had wanted, but everything was even, and she did not thread the sparse areas (I had told her to leave it alone so that I can just fill it in). She ended up offering to fill in my brows and it actually looked great. Last Friday I came in to see her again for the second time, and the threading was super fast. Almost rushed. I told her not too thin, and she basically threaded all the sparse areas and overall looked SO bad. I absolutely hated it. She then filled it in like fucking caterpillar eyebrows to hide the fact that she basically butchered my eyebrows. She then proceeds to tell me that I should have been MORE specific on how I wanted my brows to look and that it wasn't really her fault cuz my eyebrows are sparse in some areas. I definitely won't be coming back to her. Threading just isn't for me. One too many screw ups. I'd rather pay the $21 at EWC and have them get it right than pay $14-18 for threaders. I have been getting my brows threaded here since 2012. I would go to whoever was available first and had a good experience. Within the last few years, I've consistently gone to Rama! She's so gentle, friendly, and professional. I love my brows every time and always get compliments on them and I tell people to come see Rama! She always listens to what I want, if I want to grow out a section, or whatever. Pushpa is also amazing too and I also recommend her to people. I've gone here in the past and loved it. The persons checking you in are very nice. But the last two experiences with my eyebrow threading were horrible. Before the pandemic I went in and came out with two different brows. Today I went in and they look different again, but worse. One side is so sparse and thin there is hardly a brow on the side. The other side has more but still thin. Why take off so much brow???? Just like that. Others noticed within an hour of me leaving. It's on my face! With the mask and the quick mirror look I didn't notice. It's 18.00 plus the 5.00 tip. They should be careful. So upsetting. Be very clear what you expect when you go in for service. Maybe see if one person is more experienced. I would hate for anyone else to feel like this. read more
