Visited this business recently and had a disappointing experience that others may benefit from knowing. I found the business through Yelp and Instagram and was encouraged by the positive reviews. I scheduled an appointment and completed a complimentary consultation. The nurse shared information about the skincare products they sell but was not pushy. The products discussed appeared to avoid harmful ingredients. For my first visit, I chose the Dermal Vortex treatment (similar to a Hydrafacial). However, the service did not meet expectations. The cleansing step consisted only of wiping off lotion and sunscreen. There was no proper face wash or steam preparation, which I have typically experienced at other clinics. When I asked about steaming, I was told it wasn't necessary due to the machine using water, but it later seemed the steamer was not filled. During the exfoliation step, the nurse filled the water in the steamer and turned it on.. The treatment concluded with a brief red light therapy session. When I asked about a soothing mask or post-treatment calming step, I was told that was only included with microneedling. In my experience, most facials include some form of post-care to soothe the skin, especially if the steamer was used to open the pores. The entire session lasted approximately 25 minutes. Payment was requested before the service, and a tip screen appeared at checkout. While the clinic and other services (such as Glow Exfoderm or microneedling) sound appealing, this particular experience did not align with my expectations for a ~$250 treatment. I came here many years ago, probably 2015. I have always had clear skin, always received compliments. I was never prone to breakouts or acne. I unfortunately went here for my first ever microdermabrasion treatment and immediately afterwards I got acne. Horrible cystic looking acne, I was starting college and I was so embarrassed to be seen especially by friends and family who had always commented on my skin. It last 3 months at least and I was left with hyperpigmentation. It looked worse than before. Instead of a "glow" I was left with brown scars when it healed. I should've said something at the time, it's been so long. But I was young and naive and what could she have done? Given me another microdermabrasion treatment? I'm scared of doing any facial treatments or ever doing microdermabrasion again. This wasn't the "normal" pimples coming up the surface. This was horrendous uncover-able acne. To this days after that instance, I again have never encounter any acne. I don't know if equipment was improperly cleaned or sanitized. I found Glow DermSolutions on yelp after looking for a place that would help me address my acne / acne scars and I was really happy with my experience. My esthetician was Lexi and she was awesome. Since this was my first time, we started off with a consultation and I felt like she really took the time to listen to me and address my concerns. She explained the entire process to me and checked in with me after every step. She also showed me her before and after pictures and it was reassuring to know she had great results with these sessions. I believe I got the glow exfoderm. I didn't really know what to expect but the facial was very calming and did not hurt at all. Lexi constantly asked me how I was doing and made sure the chemical peel wasn't too strong for me. They make it clear that to see results, you'll likely need multiple sessions. It's been two weeks since I've gone and I've noticed that my skin is smoother, but no drastic changes. I did get more breakouts after but I've read that this is normal. I've booked my second session so I'm hoping I see more results. It's definitely pricey ($350 a session) but if I get the results I'm hoping for, I'd say it's 100% worth it. I think I'll try at least 3-4 sessions before I can comment on the effectiveness.
