I'm visiting from out of town and my cousin and I with my 6 year old daughter stop by for pedicures. We sat down and they started working on us. The staff didn't ask us what package we would like for our pedicures. Service was very mediocre. At this point I'm thinking "watever it's 15$ pedicure" the bill game for my daughter and I it was 48$!!!! I asked what for and they said we got massages!!!!!! I didn't get a massage just rubbed down with this salt that really annoyed my skin and my daughter is 6 SHE DOES NOT NEED A MASSAGE PACKAGE (bare in mind I told her I needed a kids pedicure) I paid and just left... BEWARE UNPROFESSIONAL SALON. This place is trash . They are slow , rude and over priced and unprofessional as hell . They messed up on my daughters nails so bad she was left in tears. And when I demand a refund they offered a $10 gift certificate. WTF I payed $50 for nails !! a 3 year old could have done better !! I really want to love this place, I do. But the problem is they are extremely INCONSISTENT. Pedicures are okay but the accompanying massage is awful and they do it maybe 2 min which most descriptions say 15 min for the one I get. I was there today, my pedicure was supposed to come with a paraffin dip, nope they didn't do it. They weren't even busy. When I walked in there were only 2. I paid 81.00 today! The salon was clean and staff friendly, however the service was average. I upgraded to the deluxe pedicure and it was very standard nothing special. The nail tech was very careless when they went to paint my toes and polish was all over the sides. Overall I am not happy paying the star money for the "deluxe" pedicure, especially when i need to remove the polish since it is all over the edges of my toes. read more

I've been here twice and was disappointed both visits. My last visit, they immediately sat me at a pedicure chair, which seemed great, no wait, right? The chair had not been cleaned (wet dirty tissue was in the bath) and I sat at this dirty chair for 25 min before anyone cleaned it and filled it. The water was lukewarm when they filled it (which I mentioned but they didn't fix) and became very cold over the next 25 minutes I waited. No one told me sorry, someone will be right with you, nothing. At the point I almost got up and left (50 minutes!) a tech started. I paid for the one with a mask and some extra massage but got neither. The exfoliation was about 30 seconds each foot with a pumice stone which is basically nothing. I'll be looking elsewhere for my next pedicure. read more

I've been coming here a while mostly because it is convenient to where I work. I love a pedi because nice toes are well, nice! But really I come for the massage. I have always thought there massage was always fast but I never paid much attention. Today I ordered the spa pedi and noted on the description that it was 14 minutes. So I timed it. Five minutes. It was a nice five minutes but only five. I also got their free glass of wine. It was not drinkable. I am no wine snob but that stuff was horrible! I won't be back, convenient or not. read more

Horrible customer service. As soon as I entered I was asked what I was having by a female nail tech. She told me to sign in, take a seat and she would be with me in a minute. Upon signing into the tablet, I was given a wait time of 0 minutes. Ha! I sat in the waiting area for almost 10 minutes until a make nail tech asked again what I was having. After another 5 minutes he lead me back to the chairs and left. After another 5 minutes another female nail tech came and asked me and 2 other customers if we were having pedicures. She then proceeded to service the customer next to me. Nothing was communicated that someone would be with me shortly. So after 20 minutes of checking in with 0 wait time and no idea when I'd be seen, I decided to leave. As I reached the check-in area the male tech asked me if I was a walk-in to which I replied "no, I'm a walk out". If there is a projected wait time of 15-20 minutes plus, let the customer know so they can plan accordingly. Simple communication is the difference between good and poor customer service. Awful. Don't come here. The lady who waxed my eyebrows completely messed them up and waxed them one thinner than the other.

I went in for an eyebrow and lip wax plus a pedicure (had zero polish on my toes and haven't had a pedi for about three years). I wanted to get something nice done for myself since I was heading back to college and die studying the rest of the year. Eyebrows were absolutely fabulous, and I found a color I liked for my toes! Fast forward to today, less than twenty days from the visit, when I'm taking off the polish to put something else on. One toe looked weird so I sent a pic to my nurse sister. I thought it might be bruised since I stubbed it and my roommate's cat happened to jump on the same toe. Nope. Apparently I got a foot fungus (which has never happened), and the only thing I've done that would make that possible is getting my toes done. I'm a super clean freak otherwise and constantly switch out anything that goes near my feet/body. She thinks they wore the nail down too thin which caused it to get infected by an unsterilized buffer, or that they used an old, bad bottle of polish. Not a fun time. Currently treating it with tea tree oil. Would not recommend getting a pedi there. It's probably TOTALLY random, but wouldn't recommend it. read more

Don't waste your time or money . I was visiting Fernandina Beaches today and decided to stop in at the Luxy Salon for a mani/pedi before flying out to see my husband who I haven't seen in two months. I asked for a white flower with the pedi and gel polish on my hands. When I saw the flower I politely asked for a different one. It looked like the flower a ten year old girl would choose. Haven't seen husband in two months..Ten yr old isn't the look I wanted. He looked annoyed but didn't say anything and started putting the Gel polish on my hands. It didn't match the color on my Toes. I said "it's turquoise and my toes are blue. If you don't have a better gel match, that's okay, just put on a clear coat. Two other employees come over and tell me it's the same color. I again said..that's okay..I'll just take clear. He then starts putting clear gel on my hands. I say.."I don't want to pay extra for Gel since there is no color. Just a top coat is fine. He then takes out the coarsest nail file they have and starts sawing the Gel off my hand. It hurt. I asked why he was doing it that way and he says this is how you take off Gel. I said "no it's not..you soak it off. You're upset with me and so you're being rough, hurting me and also ruining my nails. Please can you get someone else to finish me up". He say's "I'm the owner". I again tell him I don't want him working on me anymore and he gets up and calls the police. I asked him why he's doing this and he says "you don't pay, I call police. I told him I didn't have a problem paying, I just wanted someone else to finish. The female employee comes up and starts yelling at me..I have no idea what she was saying. I said "this is insane. Tell me what I owe, so I can leave". He says "you're not leaving. You do this before, I call police". I said "sir I don't live here. I've never been in your salon before. I want to pay and leave". He bars the door and refuses to let me pass. I didn't know what to do. I repeatedly asked 6 or 7 times to let me pay and leave. He refused. Store was closing and I was the only customer in the salon.They were all angrily talking in another language, I couldn't understand and they wouldn't let me leave. I called the police as well and told them everything. They were incredibly kind and said they were on their way. I hung up and told the owner "You can't do this. At best it's harassment and worst you're holding me hostage. This is illegal and the police are coming this is unbelievable. ... You can't do this "... He told me to be quiet... The female employee who was yelling at me earlier said "pay $37.00 and go". The owner argued with her in their native tongue and then she said "pay". I ran my CC and got the heck out of there. I waited outside for the police, and told them all was fine now. I am embarrassed they had to be called and I have no idea how it escalated to this point other than I insulted the owner by asking for someone else. I'm incredulous. I have been a frequent customer of Luxy's over they past couple of years and over the past few months it has progressively gotten worse and worse. I went in with my mother to get a manicure and a pedicure and it was the worst experience we've ever had. The staff was rude and abrasive from the moment we sat down. One gentleman in particular treated my mom horribly. It was uncomfortable being a customer in that environment. When my mom's pedicure was finished she was walking to the table for a manicure and her one toe rubbed her other nail and messed up the color. When she asked him to fix the color he huffed and acted like it was such an inconvenience to fix the color. Next, the manicure... He applied two coats of color but there were still streaks in which you could see the bare nail underneath! She asked the nail technician to add another coat of color to even it out. His response was so condescending and unbelievably rude that my mom and I were actually dumbfounded by his reaction. She asked again for another coat which he finally applied. Finally, as we are waiting for our color to dry another staff member came up to my mom and told (not asked) her to move because they needed the table for another customer. She wasn't given another option to dry at a different station she was just told to get up and move. Meanwhile, I was never asked to move and there were multiple open work stations available. When we addressed our experience with the manager, she seemed unfazed at the way her staff treats customers. So disappointing. Luxy used to provide stellar service but over recent months they have really gone downhill. read more

He talked to me just as much as I wanted to be talked to, and did a great job on both my mani and pedi. The person at the front desk did a great job describing the difference between the types of pedicures I could get since this was my first time. Watched them clean foot baths between each person. I have been twice. The first time was ok, but was rushed. 2nd time had a manicure and powder polish on my nails. I called and made an appt. For myself and 2 friends. They had pedis. I specifically asked for Ben. He did my nails the previous time. I was told no someone else would do it. The young lady only works weekends. She removed the oval sparkly nails that I had done there. They lasted a month. She never asked what shape I wanted my nails. I prefer oval not square. She filed the corners, but still square. After a week the polish has cracked on 2 fingers. It is the powder polish. Didn't crack before and lasted a month. I also had a manicure. The young lady mentioned my cuticles were very dry, asked if I washed my hands alot. No I don't, considering they were soaking in acetone to remove the previous polish, I am not surprised they were dry. She could have applied the cuticle oil, which is generally part of a manicure Unless you go here. This was my last visit. My advise, go somewhere else. They are more interested in quantity not quality. read more

They turned us away and took both of them told us we could comeback later. While my daughter is young it shouldn't matter. My wife, older daughter and the daughter I took in today went there all the time and I Tiip very well! Guess my money wasn't good enough today! And won't be EVER AGAIN! Failed Nails and sour lemons. Today for a girls day out my wife took herself and 6 girls ranging from 9-14 to get pampered for their nails and toes. That was one experience that went south quickly. When they walked in the girls showed them pictures to paint on just on finger or one toe. After seeing the pictures of basic fruit they said yes we can do that. A man starts aggressively working on my daughters toes, who is only 9, and proceeded to talk her out of what she wanted and kept telling her what he was going to do and the color scheme. All about convenience? Or all about lack of customer service and regard for client satisfaction? All the above. She started crying and he ignored her and kept doing his thing. Thankfully when my wife saw this she stopped all services and chapped the staff and left. Come on people it isn't that hard to paint a toe and paint a lemon. Former customer as of today, but the guy who says he's the new owner refused to fix the nail after going back to them the 'next business day' when the gel polish wasn't properly removed from the nail. I NOTICED after I had my eye glasses on when I returned home. "Full price" is all he would rudely say..I am capable of paying top dollar and I ALWAYS tip very well as his staff are familiar with me doing so.
