My husband ordered this service for me a little while ago after I had been sick and pregnant for a few weeks. We were incredibly disappointed. We arrived home to see that the upstairs was untouched, when my husband had asked to have that done. I went in the kitchen and saw that the dishes were done, which was a huge help since we were unable to do dishes for a week or so with the sink broken (it is also connected to our dishwasher). But they also had put my scissors and can opener in the dish drainer as if they had washed them. They left many dishes with cups worth of water in them. If I had arrived home later, my cast iron dishes would have rusted. They also used a toxic soap with bleach to wash my dishes. This does not belong to me and was in the way back of a cabinet nowhere near the sink. I had left out two containers of soap, both were left unopened, and they went for the toxic stuff and sponges that did not belong to me. The whole reason I hired them is because they claimed to use non-toxic soaps! They also drank all of my husbands green tea so there was none for him when he arrived home. I did offer them a drink but I did not assume they would drink everything in the fridge. They left all of the open bags of trash in our laundry room. I had just picked up all the trash before I left, most of what they were throwing away was my files and boxes, which I was going to keep, but obviously could not now since they were thrown away with all their rags. My husband checked the order and apparently it took 7 hours for them to do what little they did, and we DO NOT believe that was 7 hours worth of work. He called to talk to a manager, the first manager he spoke to said they would come out and fix it. We assumed we would not be paying since it was their mistakes. The oven started smoking while I was making dinner because the soap was not wiped off. All of the floors downstairs were sticky like they left soap on the floor. They had cracked my tile floor (4 tiles) and damaged all of my canning jars that they had washed. You cannot use a cracked canning jar for canning, which is its entire purpose. I have no idea how they cracked the floor, possibly by dropping my cast iron barbell on the floor? They threw away the seal for the blender we are BORROWING. We will probably need to pay full price to replace it, and then again to buy our own! We decided not to ask for reinbursement since they said they would come out and fix it, and we wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt. We know that sometimes 1 employee can be a bad impression of the entire business. On the 2nd visit they did clean better upstairs, and there was actually the essential oils (they did not use them the first time), but when we arrived home they had charged my husband for it again, and again it seemed they took their sweet time cleaning. He called to speak to a manager and was put on with a different manager. This one refused to give my husband his money back and said that the bank would side with him. My husband said he would not pay, and would call the bank and tell them what he was saying. To which he finally agreed to refund my husband for the 2nd day. It is infuriating to hear that someone was so disrespectful to my husband and that he had to deal with all that and spend all that money, and no one ever apologized to him for the damaged goods or the way he was treated. He was just trying to do something nice for me. We were never given the option to have a full or partial refund for services from our initial visit. They only gave us the option to have it redone at cost. Which we think is personally ridiculous when mistakes are made. This is an incredibly expensive service for what we received, and it certainly was not worth it with the damages we incurred and cost of items that will need to be replaced. Not to mention the bleach in our house when I am pregnant. They seem to defend their maids more than make sure their customers are satisfied. I do not recommend, which sucks because there aren't many other nontoxic cleaners in the area. read more

I love Gmaids! I've used Gmaids a number of times and I've never had any complaints. Laura is the lady who covers my area now and I really like her - she does a great job and she's very friendly. I love that I can just email Gmaids to ask if Laura is available on a certain day/time and they email me back quickly to get me scheduled - being able to book and confirm without having to call anyone is fantastic. I find the cost to be comparative to other companies and the convenience of having a card on file so I don't have to write a check or figure out how much cash to have on hand (except for the tip - I try to tip Laura in cash) when they are coming to clean is really helpful. I really like that they use nontoxic cleaning materials as well - that was really important to me when I was picking a service to use. read more

I googled "Organic Cleaning Dallas" and came upon the Gmaids website. I really liked the idea that they donate to charity with every order booked - they give a meal's worth of donation every time that they book an order. They have an option for live chat on their web site, so I was able to ask all of my questions and schedule my visit without even having to pick up the phone. I was sent a follow-up email from Juan at Gmaids confirming my order for cleaning, and was able to get an appointment on a Wednesday when I contected them the previous Friday. That Friday night after I had scheduled the cleaning appointment, my husband broke his leg in a freak roller skating accident. I called on Monday to have the cleaning appointment rescheduled, and they were extremely accomodating and helped me get an early morning Saturday cleaning appointment. After the broken leg, the cleaning service turned from a nice luxury to a real necessity, and their willingness to work with us to reshedule the appointment was amazingly helpful. The 2-member team was scheduled to be at my home from 9a-10a, and at 10:10a I had a call that the team was in our parking garage. I went downstairs and helped them to my apartment, and after a quick tour of the problem areas, they got to work. Both of the Gmaids staff looked and acted very professional during the entire experience. They even brought me a beautiful orchid! I was told that for a first time deep-cleaning in my sized apartment, it would be about two hours or so, and it took 2:15. They definitely didn't skimp on the details - they cleaned out our microwave until it was spotless, and when they scrubbed the bathroom they even cleaned the bottom of our electric toothbrushes that were all kinds of gunky. Plus all of the cleaners that they used were non-toxic, and my whole house smelled faintly of mint after they left, which beats the overwhelming scent of Pine-Sol and ammonia I've experienced with other cleaners. I've found that the worth of a company is not only what they do right, but how the take something that went wrong and make it right. When I received my invoice from Karen, I saw that there was a slight miscalculation and we had paid for 2.75 hours and not 2.25 hours of labor. I responded to the e-mail to point out the error, and it was corrected within 24 hours, with a very postitive email accompanying the response. I have been using Gmaids for 9 years and have always received excellent service. They are an Eco-friendly cleaning company which means they use chemical-free cleaning products (vinegar, mint oil, Mrs. Meyers-brand etc.). Your house will not smell like Pine-Sol--just a faint wiff of mint oil. This doesn't mean your house isn't clean--it means there are no chemical toxic residues in your home. I prefer this due to my allergies, and the safer environment for my Grandchildren and pets. Olivia is an excellent cleaner-- very detailed and thorough. I decided to give the "deep clean" a try and honestly, it was worth every penny. I had left a bunch on laundry in the dryer and they had folded all of it and put it all away! I was definitely not expecting them to do that. I also had some spray tan stains on my bedspread and on my sheets that I have never been able to get out ... whatever they used the problem was solved because the stains are now out and the sheets are fresh! The only "con" I have is I had some dried flowers on the table that my boyfriend gave me (sentimentally keeping them) and they threw those away. So my advice would be to mention anything you don't want touched!! They are thorough and will clean everything unless you tell them not to! They called afterwards to check on the service and make sure everything looked great. I definitely plan on using them again! read more

Long story, short: Gmaids was hired to perform a deep clean on a condo that was less than 900 sq. ft. The cleaning was vey disappointing. I expected the deep clean checklist on their website to be followed, but it wasn't even remotely close. Gmaids owned up to the mistake and comped my "cleaning," but it was still disappointing and just a pain to deal with. i really think Gmaids' cleaning performances need to reflect what it promised on their website. In the 20+ years of owning a home I've hired the expensive franchise companies, the independents, the recommended woman from my block and everything in between, I've found Gmaids just the right blend between a professional company and an independent cleaner. I feel they were able to perfect the model and have extremely happy cleaners, which produce happier clients and cleaner homes. Their pricing is competitive, their people are just top notch and my family runs better when the home is clean regularly (my wife is happier too ;) believe me it's the best money spent at home. Some neat things: I'm on auto billing, no more checks to write or going to the ATM, service gets charged to my credit card automatically every 2 weeks. I book for extra cleanings with just a text message or chatting online with them, response time is quick and customer service email is A+. When we go out of town, they come to do cleanings as needed, and if there's an emergency situation they can access my home. A year ago there was a flood reported by neighbors and all of us were out of town, I texted Gmaids and my crew immediately went there and opened the door to a plumber, solved issue! all while I was traveling with my family. This is something that makes me stay with them, I feel confident that my home is under control and well taken care of especially when my focus is family, work and enjoying our lives. Found Gmaids online after researching non toxic cleaning companies- glad I did! I've been using them for a couple of months now and am very happy with the service. Dora is my main girl and always does a fabulous job. Recently Dora wasn't available so Karla came. I was a little nervous to try someone new because in the past, I didn't have the best luck trying someone other than Dora ( wasn't horrible just wasn't as good of a job) but Karla did GREAT. Had to go with another company. The same person was never sent. Each time a different reason was given, after an item was broken ,I raised a number of issues with management. Now my 70+ electric toothbrush and heads were taken. Everything has been replaced but I will never use them again or reccomend their service. I bought my own peppermint spray! read more

Stopped using this service after a general decline in quality of cleaning, and a consistent pattern of over reporting time spent, and consequently inflated billing. Lack of transparency and simplicity in pricing (quote on website is different from actual cost of service during confirmation which is different from the amount that is finally charged). Too much focus on gimmicky marketing and brand positioning, but not enough on the actual service. If the cleaning itself was thorough and detailed and not finicky (too many inclusions in their "50 point" checklist, when realistically you'd be lucky to get half of them), then I might have been more amenable to their steady increase in rates. Unethical, and vague business practices, however, are a dealbreaker. Too bad, because I really did like that minty smell. I now use a different service that provides 3 times the manpower, and cleaning detail, at one flat rate. Saves me a whole lot of time and aggravation, and my apartment is spotless, everytime. read more

I left my house in shambles for Gmaids and I think I had obscure requests of them. I had clean clothes that I needed folded and hung up (because I hate folding clothes); I had dirty dishes that I needed to be put in the dishwasher (because I hate doing dishes); shoes were everywhere; trash was everywhere. It was a mess and I was searching for a company that wouldn't mind organizing and cleaning that mess. I called Gmaids and asked if they would prioritize the things I needed done and if they fold my clean clothes (what company would actually do this). They said that they would be happy to. They booked my appointment and accepted my long list of things I wanted done and promised to prioritize as I requested. When I got home, things I didn't expect were even done. They organized my closets (who does this?!), they washed most of my dishes (instead of putting them all in the dishwasher) and many more things. My place sparkled. They gave me a call after they were done and continually followed up to make sure I was happy. I decided to book reoccurring services on the simple fact they figured out where most of the crap that was scattered all over the apartment went. I used this service Monday and I can't say enough great things. On time, fast, extremely thorough and so friendly. My mother has chronic respiratory issues and she lives with me. I have always hesitated hiring someone to clean the house because I was afraid the cleaning products used would irritate her. I have severe social, so obviously I'm not a typical customer. If you have anxiety, though, this is probably not the company for you. They called me saying that basically I was too finicky, and they wouldn't be able to come clean my place. I get that the guy who called me was trying to explain to me why all the little things I requested weren't really something they felt they could guarantee, but I specifically said in my details/description that I didn't want any contact with people. Like I said: SEVERE anxiety. I basically stayed on the phone long enough for him to tell me they didn't have anyone who could meet my requirements. Though, they weren't extreme requirements. I just wanted things to be put away, and the dishes to be rinsed before they were put in the dishwasher, and things like that. I was very specific because I've had instances with services in the past where dishes ended up having baked-on food after been run through the hot dry without being rinsed off first. Or things put away in the wrong places. But apparently it was too much for them. :( read more

Have been having Gmaids come once a month for the last year and half to clean my 1 bedroom apartment and it has been a great decision. I used Gmaids for their "deep clean" services and had 3 maids in my house for 4.5 hours (kitchen, living, 2 bathrooms and 2 bedrooms. They did some things well (ceiling fans, oven, dusting) and other things poorly (shower, wiping down cabinets, counters, nightstands, etc., vacuuming in corners). Overall, I will say I got a good surface level cleaning but they left much to be desired for the $450 I paid for the deep clean. There was also a sticky residue left on the tile from whatever cleaning agent was used. Also, I wish they would have taken note of how things were arranged/placed and returned everything to its proper location after cleaning. In every room in the house I had to go back through and rearrange things. However, I don't think I would have minded this as much if the cleaning part was done well. They did ask me to check their work after they were done, but I felt really awkward pointing out obvious corners of dust and spots on the counter as they were trying to make their way out the door. So, I just decided to take it as an expensive lessons learned. If you use this service, my advice would be to provide them with a detailed list of tasks (even though they have one on their site) and walk them through the house to point out the things you'd like them to spend time on. I am very pleased with the work done by, and the demeanor of maids. Not to mention the business office! I waited until a few days before I needed a move out cleaning before I called, knowing that I might be causing myself to miss out on getting someone to come in and clean. Katie, in the office, was apologetic about being all booked up on the day I needed the work done, but still took time to talk to me and try to find another booking date that would work. She found nothing, she suggested that even though it didn't happen often, if a cancellation happened, she would call me and let me know. We got so lucky!
