She suggested hotels, restaurants and even did the work in researching how we could use our loyalty points from Marriot. She helped us maximize the points and got us the best service and deals while we were traveling. She set up our transportation for each destination including boat transfer, small flights, and private cars to make sure we got to everything on time. There were absolutely no delays and no issues. She had thought of everything! She went above and beyond by customizing and personalizing every aspect of our trip. When arriving at our hut on the water at the St Regis in Bora Bora, we were greeted with photos from our wedding and a bottle of champagne. This was so unexpected and so appreciated that she would take the time to do something so special and unique for us. We booked our vacation of a lifetime through an agent associated with Cadence Travel. We did not…read moreexperience the so called as they advertise any "world class white glove care" for a very expensive trip. While on the cruise we heard from multiple people that their travel agent got them ship credits, free beverage package, and or there was a gift basket in their room. We received nothing and instead had an agent that even forgot to remind us that we had to book our own airline seats no assistance from travel agency or agent. This resulted in the worst seats we've ever had in our international travels. Nor did we receive any welcome gift or as We were celebrating a couple special occasions- birthday and retirement. Again as Cadence website purports "to take care of the Client". In addition, we were told several untrue things. One of those was having to check in for a river cruise by 3:00 p.m. costing us time to explore the originating city. All in all, the river cruise was a wonderful time but we absolutely gained nothing by using a travel agent and do not recommend this travel agency- Cadence Travel.

Furthermore, he made his lack of adequate preparation the booking agent's problem, which I find completely unprofessional. If travel agencies are having difficulty competing with online travel options, then it would be a good idea to have a staff which exhibits exemplary professionalism. That means being courteous and patient with the people who are working with us.

I came across AskAboutTravel.com and submitted an online request. I was a bit leery as I had never done anything like this and wondered I would be better off doing it on my own. I recieved an email and follow up call within one day. I was quoted an amazing deal at the property which included breakfast for two and they even got my room upgraded for me...not to mention a resort credit. Better than anything I had found. The property was everything a Ritz property is known for. Our room was lovely and the kids all had a great time. I thought the property was very diverse as there were many honeymoon couples but a great area for younger kids set off from the main pool. You cannot beat the beaches in that area either. Prices are not cheap over there...$15 for a drink in the bar. The $100 resort credit helped a lot. It took us an hour to get to the property. We had rented a car through AskAboutTravel.com and when we arrived at the airport they even upgraded our economy to a full size mini van. We needed the room as we stopped at the local store first. There is a lot of walking to do and can be a challenge if you are not in shape. I would go back to The Ritz and book through AskAboutTravel.com again. I worked with an agent Sandy as well. I'm sure the other agents are just as good.

We were impressed with her efforts to assist us while we were in St. Lucia when we were looking for places to volunteer and other accomodations when we traveled outside the resort. She got back to us right away and offered several suggestions. Our trip to St. Lucia was one of the best trips that we've ever had. Not bad. According to their website, Acacia Travel has "400 years combined travel experience and (they have) collectively traveled to over 200 countries." If you call Acacia, they offer a "complimentary consultation appointment." Also, they seem to do a lot of business travel arrangements and overseas trips. For those in need of some aid in making travel and touring arrangements, Acacia is the way to go. Not everyone can get on the computer and find the cheapest airfare or the best hotel to stay at. The pros here know their way around these things and appear to be very good with details. Particularly if you are making plans to take complicated trips, or go to multiple destinations or go abroad with multiple generations in tow. 5 YELP STARS for some great travel expertise.

What a fool he is! And what fools we were to trust him! Our friends are very well known people in Portugal who had a reception for us when we arrived with the Naval Attache, the ambassador, and the President's wife attending. They forgot more about Lisbon and Portutgal than this agent knows. We should have listened to them and made him book a different hotel. The shower didn't work and they never fixed it. The tub was full of rust. The complimentary breakfast was all but inedible and the free WiFi was a lie. The hotel staff was extremely rude and the only good thing they did was warn us not to go out in the neighborhood at night. Mr. Baptista booked us on a flight with a one hour connection in Philadelphia, which is a nightmare of an airport. Our flight ran 15 minutes late and we missed our connection to Portugal. Any decent agent should know that one hour is never enough, but when confronted with this he assured us it was fine. It would take more time and space than I am willing to spend to tell you of the screw-ups by this agent. Needless to say his reputation amongst the Portuguese community in San Diego will be severely questioned as two of our group are Portuguese and have already told many of their friends to avoid him at all costs.

Great service!…read more Firstly, one of the ONLY places in San Diego where you could purchase a JR pass. Secondly, great and cheap pocket WiFi! I researched everywhere for pocket Wifi, and this was the cheapest one! If you decide to rent their devices, you will need to make reservations for your trip! I went around two months in advance to place a reservation (I was already there with the purpose of buying a JR pass), you may be able to do so on the phone but I'm not to sure about that. Their WiFi also allows multiple people to connect! If you are traveling to Japan, this place is a must. In Japan, WiFi and data usage is not good at all, so it is highly recommended that travelers rent a pocket WiFi device, buy a pre-paid data card, or set up a travel plan with their cell phone carrier. I rented a pocket WiFi device through IACE travel and it was THE BEST thing I did in preparation for my trip. If you do not have WiFi, it is very hard to use your phone. If you plan on using the public transportation, it is helpful to have the Google Maps app because it provides a detailed list of the lines to take and the stations to stop at for your destination. Also while you're sitting down in the train cars, you'll be able to use your phone for entertainment if you don't want to enjoy the scenes from the windows. I have an iPhone, so with WiFi I was able to make calls through FaceTime and send texts through iMessage with my family or friends who have iPhones as well. I did not need to set up a cellular service plan with my carrier because having WiFi allowed me to stay in touch with other iPhone users. If you have an Android, you can message and call through apps such as Facebook or Snapchat. If you need to stay in touch with family or friends, be sure to go over the medium of communication that will be available to you. Message apps that use WiFi will allow you to stay in touch without using cellular data. With all that being said, I highly recommend this place for their pocket WiFi and for the JR pass!
