Tanaka Shrimp for lunch today was delicious
Natalie S.

Today while on our vacation in beautiful Oahu Hawaii we decided to take "The Oahu Circle Island Tour with Byodo in Temple" it was great!! Our Driver for the tour today was Tim! Tim was great from the moment he pulled up to pick us up from Ross. Tim made sure to share lots of Hawaiian culture and cuisine with us. We seen beautiful sights all around the island of Oahu! Tim should be applauded for his dedication and commitment to ensuring that the customers are always happy. Lunch was delicious at Tanaka Shrimp Market Tim was funny and he was very kind and knowledgeable about the island. Tim has that extra measure of care and respect for his customers! Other than LATE CUSTOMERS getting back on the bus it was a great experience around Oahu!!! Thank you Tim Lee we had a great time with you today. From Diamond Head, too Turtle Bay Area and Dole Pineapple Factory and the The Macadamia Nut Farm and Polynesian Culture Center it was a great experience

First tour experience in Hawaii ! We were picked up on time ! IAN our tour driver is excellent and informative of Hawaiian culture! Our ride to the Waimea Waterfall and Dole Plantation was smooth and we arrived safely to each destinations. Our lunch was well organized by Ian getting our order numbers and were called in before our arrival. Tanaka Kahuku Shrimp eatery had delicious menu of shrimps!! Tour bus was kept clean and chairs were comfortable! We were dropped off safely by our capable, funny, and entertaining driver IAN .. thanks and hopefully on my next vacation will use same tour bus with IAN!

We went on the Pearl Harbor National Memorial , USS Arizona tour today, Jan 2! It was Amazing! We started right off the bat with the ferry ride out to the USS Arizona Memorial, it was moving. Now back at the tour center we watched the 23 min video of the attack, Informational. We did a little shopping in the gift shop, Awesome! At 12pm we were back on the bus headed to our prospected hotels. Our driver/tour guide Kanoe was very Friendly and Knowledgeable! It was a pleasure riding the bus and touring Pearl Harbor! I would Highly Recommend this tour and our guide!

Byodo in Temple

A fabulous day with Bill On the Circle Island Tour with Byodo in Temple. Extremely informative and interesting with details that show a love for O'ahu and a lifetime of gathering knowledge. Beautiful, scenic locations to take photos, purchase souvenirs and learn historical and fun facts. Lunch stop was excellent! I recommend the garlic butter or the spicy garlic shrimp, both came with rice and a slice of pineapple. In addition to the souvenir shop next door to Tanaka Shrimp , there is a local artisan shop next door that has some really nice and affordable pieces. We purchased this trip through the Go City pass and strongly recommend it for this and other excursions.

How did we cram so much into 1 day?!?! Such an epic tour filled with so many stops. Paul is an AMAZING tour guide. Kept us on pace and laughing. This also quickly becomes a foodie tour so come hungry with cash as not all stops take card. Highly recommend if you want to see a lot quickly.

We just finished our Circle Island & Hidden Gems tour with Cousin Charlie, and we had an amazing time! Charlie took such great care of us and was so informative with all his stories and trivia about the island. He treated us like Ohana and was so patient, making sure no one was left behind. Even the other tour guides from different Go Tours buses were saying we were with the best tour guide in the company! So glad we were on his bus today!

But also not recommended if you have a health condition, with restrictions. Before you arrive, you need to make a reservation on their website. It's more convenient because you can pay for the parking on there as well. When you receive your email confirmation, it will give you a once use QR code. You will get this scanned in the entrance and it will cover you for parking. NOTE: when making reservations, you will select times slots. Morning slots do fill up first, so put that into consideration if you were planning to do this hike. Right across from the visitor center they have the restrooms. These restrooms are the cleanest restrooms I've ever seen. They even have changing stations for mom's with babies. Sinks also have soap and water. The outside of the bathrooms, they have water fountains, and water dispensers for you to fill up your water bottles. Me and my sister did this hike and the time slot we got was for noon. The sun is out! I suggest you carry your sunblock with you while on the hike because you will need to reapply as you keep moving upwards. The sun is out and you will feel it. This hike is also nice because it has designated resting spots with benches in case you need to pull over get a drink and catch your breath. Somewhere towards the top, you will reach a huge flight of stairs. That's very steep, if you like a challenge, the stairs will lead you closer to the top. But if you take the left path, that's a pathway with rails. That is completely doable, for the slower hikers, like myself. And on the bright side, the left side path does come with a view. When you are all done with your hike, they have some very cute souvenirs at the visit center. Very cute hello Kitty merchandise as well, if you are a fan. ALSO!! GET A SWEET TREAT! on the far right next to the visitor center there are two food trucks parked that sell shaved ice, and Dole whips!! I had a great experience! I'm so happy I get across this hike off of my list.

He was hilarious, full of fascinating stories, and somehow managed to make every bathroom stop feel like part of the adventure. The views were jaw-dropping: Diamond Head glowing in the morning sun, waves crashing at Halona Blowhole, and those movie-perfect cliffs near Kualoa Ranch. Dirk kept us entertained between stops with island legends, trivia, and a soundtrack that could make even a restroom break feel cinematic. Leonard's malasadas? Heavenly. Macadamia nut farm snacks? Dangerous in the best way. Tanaka's garlic shrimp? Worth every bite and every burp. Turtle Beach was the crown jewel--relaxing, peaceful, and filled with lazy sea turtles living their best lives. Dirk's timing was perfect, his humor was infectious, and his love for the island made every mile memorable. I laughed, I learned, I ate too much, and I never once regretted it. If you want a full day of Oahu beauty, good vibes, and an expert guide who'll keep you smiling and on schedule, this is the tour. Mahalo, Dirk, you're the real MVP of island adventures!

I was worried about the pick-up being difficult based on other reviews but it actually went really smoothly. there are usually multiple tour buses at the pick-up location but if you don't know which one to get on you can call their phone # to get the bus # or just ask the people standing outside the buses! tips: you only get 40 min at the dole plantation so to maximize your time I would suggest getting your ice cream from the truck outside (they sell the same things inside the gift shop but the line was shorter outside when I went). if you want to ride the train it's 20 min and I think they only run every 15-20 min so definitely get in line quickly. you can also get dole whip in waikiki so you can prioritize the train.
