Ok let me first state I am not a Vegan or Vegetarian but often times I want a good no-animal product meal and I am happy to say this place served up quite a good meal. The food was fresh and hot and served pretty quick. I got a kale ginger smoothie and I typically make kale ginger smoothies at home but this one was way off in taste and color so I'm not sure that all of the ingredients were fresh it sort of tasted like some type of powder was added to it which made it very bitter and bright green. I took a few sips and told the waitress I didn't like it but there was no offer to remove it from my tab. The customer service could use a little tweaking the one waitress just didn't seem to be engaged with the customers. read more

Not exactly a classy area, and Google maps completely messed up the directions on how to get here (thanks Google!). A lot of these Asian vegan places are very samey, and this one isn't a whole lot different, but it does make some effort to distinguish itself. There is a kids menu for starters, which has more western items on it (hot dog, etc). I ended up getting the thick noodles, which proved to be good, although not amazing - but certainly nothing to complain about. And hell, it was vegan without asking them to remove stuff as is usual at most Thai/Vietnamese places. Still, great to see a vegan spot in an area where there's otherwise not much. Unfortunately, it's rather out of the way for me, but if I do go back that way sometime, I'll be sure to try more of the items. read more

I used to be such a supporter of this business but the last year or so I've been getting some really bad service and whenever I think oh maybe it's a one off, it continues to happen over and over. The restaurant has made us wait and forgotten our meals numerous times. I've been coming here a long time and was excited when they had app ordering but the last couple times I've called or ordered on the app I had to wait another 30 minutes on top of the 30 minutes they or the app estimated. I have a 15 minutes drive across town and sometimes I'm on my way to work and just can't trust that my food will be made in a timely fashion. So the main problem is the time Frames they give are completely inaccurate. The other experience I had is the staff. Some of the kids they have working there give terrible customer service! One time I went to get my food and they didn't even but the order in and the was 30 minutes after I put it in. When I expressed my dissatisfaction the kid working gave me and oh well attitude. I asked for a refund but the manger wasn't there and I was leaving town for the night so He told me to come back. I never did and ended up getting a refund through yelp. It's been awhile but I have a similar waiting experience tonight, and forgetting an add on I paid 2$ extra for in my wonton soup. Which the lady working tonight felt the need to argue with my fiancé about. I felt it was time to express how I've been feeling lately. Came here on a Friday night about 1/2 hr before closing and the owner was very welcoming. I've been meaning to try this place for a long time but convincing my bf to come here was the hardest part. Neither one of us are vegan or vegetarian and my bf loves his meats. I think this place is a must try for everyone! My bf and I both enjoyed the food and the kind service! We got the potstickers, banh xeo, stir fried noodles, and garlic noodles... And I even ordered a thai iced tea. My favorite is the Banh Xeo and it's a must have! I was very surprised by the "shrimp" as I've never had fake shrimp. The thai iced tea also tasted just like regular thai iced tea! I have to admit that the "meats" of this place is excellent and the flavors are on point! The garlic noodles were perfect, not too oily and not over powering with the garlic, perfectly balanced in my opinion. We had so much food that we had enough for leftovers for another meal. All in all the total was about $30 which I think was worth it! I can't wait to come back and try the rest of their menu! Also, when I was there a couple had walked in about 10 mins after closing and the owner was still very kind and let them order take out, he even very patiently answered all their questions about the vegan menu! Go Vegan is the single best restaurant I've ever been to, and I can't wait to go there again when I'm next in the area. The availability of such a great Vegan restaurant in Antioch played a huge role in me finally dropping all animal products from my diet . It's hard to choose one thing to recommend because I have multiple favourites for appetisers, meals, drinks, and even desserts, so I'll give a short list. Appetisers - egg rolls, drumsticks, and mojo mojo are all great savoury options (mojo mojo being a little sweeter). For a more refreshing appetiser both the kale salad and spring roll are great (although the kale salad can easily be a meal for one). If you're looking for a good appetiser to split, the Vietnamese crêpe (very different from French - expect a more omelette-like crêpe) is my personal go-to. Entrées - Chicken curry is definitely one of the best options, but the fried rices are also great. The tamarind beef is my personal favorite, and I'd recommend a side of rice or splitting it with someone who got a fried rice plate. Drinks - there are a lot of amazing smoothies to choose from, and the white gourd drink is always great too. And for anyone wondering what an avocado smoothie tastes like: marshmallows! Desserts - The dessert menu had just expanded when I last went, but from what I've already tried the fried banana rolls and the banana jackfruit dessert are both incredible. So I think the only vegan things I eat on a regular basis are French fries, but lately I've been trying to become a vegetarian and it is so hard. I was originally gonna go to China Won down the street but I decided to check this place out instead to curve the cravings. This restaurant opened up about 11 months ago and I remember I saw them have a grand opening but I was really reluctant to go. I finally did though and it was one of the best experiences ever! First of all, the food is sooo FRESH. You can taste it, and everything is prepared so deliciously it's hard to believe there's no animal products in anything. I tried the vegan curry "chicken" with rice today and it was so phenomenal; creamy sauce and crunchy veggies paired so perfectly with the tofu chicken. There was no missing out with this dish. I didn't have time to try anything else but I will definitely be coming back. The workers are very nice and welcoming, the overall ambience is quiet and elegant, despite being located in such a dumpy part of Pittsburg. Go Vegan is the epitome of the word hidden gem. I ate vegan chicken lemongrass with chili. It tasted good. Plenty of vegetables (carrots, broccoli, cauliflower, zucchini) which were all cooked perfectly (not mushy or crunchy). But too much garlic, and a little too salty for me. The garlic lingered in my mouth for the rest of the day into the night. The entree would benefit with rice on the side to balance the overabundance of flavors; i suggest that they switch out the potatoes which tasted awkward in relation to the Asian flavors of this dish.
