My family and I stopped by to get some pizza, we had 8 people in the party. They were great, very attentive and the food was great. We ordered pizza and some appetizers. They also have ice cream there so some of us ended up with desert. Place has arcade games also so the little ones can play while food is ready. Will return next time we are in the area. read more

Just received our delivered pizza and the toppings are all smashed and the cheese is pushed onto a portion of the pizza. Doesn't appear to have happened during delivery because the toppings are not all over the box. I was also charged more than I was told over the phone. Pizza still tasted fine and it was delivered slightly earlier than expected. read more

**Disclaimer: I'm family of the owners, so I may be a little biased** This is the best pizza place is BR. Seriously. The place is laid back, pretty fast, has great food and delivers. Food: Great. Despite the name, they offer more than pizza. They have a full lunch and dinner menu with burgers, sandwiches, fish and chips, steak, and even a killer Chicken Alfredo. My recommendations: the ham and cheese sub (comes with fries), Chicken Alfredo, BLT pizza (with ranch) and, of course, one of their signature strombolis (two can split a small or medium depending on how hungry you are). Atmosphere: Great. It's usually pretty quiet (except right after the schools let out) and it's family-friendly. There's a small room filled with arcade games for the kids and they can even find some crayons if the kids are really little. Service: Good. You'll see a combo of the adults (family) that run the place and the local 16-24's they hire to cook, do deliveries, etc. Everyone has a good attitude. Price: You can't beat it. Was driving through Michigan with my bro and his three fantastic wee ones in tow. The kids were hungry and we'd been driving for quite awhile, a food pit stop sounded like a great idea. He was driving and I was scanning reviews for a decent, family style place to stop. Due to traffic we took a different route which brought us through the area. A quick call to the number I found on Yelp and discovered they were still open and could accommodate us for dinner. It was a weeknight and the place was empty except for a few take out orders. The decor was dated and the business looked to be family run. Per the menu it's been a family business since its start in 1979. The business switched hands to the now current owning family in 2000. Decent place with tables and seating accommodating any size group whether it be a couple or a group of six. The restaurant is clean, well lighted and suited for a family gathering. Pizza takes time to prepare and since I would assume families come here often, ownership had put in a small game room with arcade games and the novelty crane machine where one tries to win a stuffed animal. (Bring quarters because they don't keep that stocked) We ordered a few different items since we had one that dines gluten free. A couple pizzas, a plate of fries and a special salad for our special one, of onions, tomato slices and cucumbers without the seeds. We could tell the waitress found the salad order odd, but it gets tiresome to explain food allergies. Service took its time and I don't think they either know or have the mindset to be more available. I mean, it's a restaurant which has served the area for many years but I don't think it's ever that busy like that of any pizzeria found in a greater, populated area. So, don't go expecting too much. I find that in slower places, lowering my expectations is best. Pizza was good but it took its time, I would probably go back again if I ever found myself in this area with the same people. Restaurant staff was inviting and there was some good back and forth conversation. The kids enjoyed and we had a good time. The stars are for the charm of the people behind the pizza. The good service, though I will admit it was slow and when we needed things we had to get up and ask for someone to stop by our table. Free and ample parking. read more

They have some of my favorite pizza! The service is sometimes spotty, poor and or slow. However, don't let that deter you! They have a very good "hometown vibe" and flavor. A large pizza is about $14 with tax. Also, it's very important to know the facility has a very strong hole in the wall look. Do your best to look past that. read more

Moved to Birch Run 2 months ago and FINALLY got to experience this place after reading the other review. DELICIOUS!!! It was only $11 for a large two topping pizza. My fiancee and I killed the WHOLE thing. We ate it so quickly, you would have thought we were in training for a get fat quick contest. We grabbed a takeout menu and I was impressed with the prices. Went for the first time today. Very nice small town atmosphere. The dining area was very neat and clean. Staff members were friendly and welcoming. My wife ordered a small 2 item pizza which looked and smelled delicious!! My wife confirm that to be an accurate truth as she was very pleased with the taste. I ordered a turkey,bacon wrap. It was of good size, real tasty and very filling. We topped off our visit with some delicious ice cream cones. We will return to try other items on a very well rounded menu. read more

Goal post is an amazing local pizza place. They even deliver! Today was my last day at my current job and we ordered food for everyone. The food was delivered hot and in a very time efficient manner for a crazy Saturday in Birch Run. We got 2 pizzas and 2 cheesy breads. My girlfriend and I decided to check this place out since we had a coupon. We ordered a pizza which wasn't too bad. It was good and it hit the spot, but nothing really to talk about. The service was terrible. We got our water and food and we didn't see our waitress until the very end of our meal. She didn't even bring out a bill. I don't know if that's the way they run things, but if so they could of said something. The decor seems dated, like a place from the 70s. A bit of sticker shock at $42, a total I did not get until I got there to pick the pizza up, I should have left and went somewhere else but I didn't. The pizza was good but in no way worth that much. I called and ordered my pizzas and asked specifically how much each pizza was. When I showed up the prices has been jacked up from the inquiry on the phone. They were indeed menu prices, but why tell phone-ins its going to be $4 cheaper? It was also ready 15 mins after i was told to show up. The BBQ chicken pizza was a joke. I wish I could attach a pic to this post. Underneath the BBQ sauce and sparse shredded chicken was a cheese pizza (with pizza sauce!) that looked like a frozen or previous pizza that had already been cooked, then had BBQ sauce, a TINY bit of cheese and chicken added and baked again. I could see 2 definite layers of cheese... The lower layer cooked to a nasty brown crust and the top barely melted. On the ride home, the entire fresh layer had slid off revealing the original pizza and a total mess in the box. The antipasto salad was 90 percent lettuce, a tiny amount of ham and cheese and about 4 pepperoni slices. Not near worth the $8 I paid for it. Little Caesars' crappy pizzas and salads blow these out of the water at a fraction of the cost. I called the store after returning home and they really couldn't have cared less about my concerns. This is my 3rd and last try with Goal Post. I love locally owned shops and usually support them over chain stored any day, but I have yet to have a pleasant experience here. Horrible service as well. Ordered two large pizzas with meats on both but received one large pizza with some meat and one large pizza with what I think was supposed to be the pepperoni from what was left of someone else's pizza. If you are going to charge as much as they do for toppings, it would be good to actually have toppings. Hubby and I went there a month or so ago with a discount coupon purchased from our local tv station. I ordered the Reuben and fries and Hubby ordered a burger. The food arrived in a timely manner, the waitress was outgoing and friendly. Servings were huge! I enjoyed my Reuben with lots of homemade corned beef, kraut, cheese and just the amount of dressing on great tasting marbled rye bread) and Hubby said the burger was the best he has tasted in a long time. We ordered a small pizza with the balance of the coupon to take home and enjoy later that evening. While waiting on our food I checked out the booth area, spotless! No dust, no grime, and no fingerprints anywhere. Very impressive. I had to check out the ladies room and the only place I could find dust or anything "nasty" was on the hinges of the stall's door. I've yet to see clean hinges anywhere. There was no buildup around the bases of the stalls or the baseboard as is common to any restaurant I've been in.I ran my finger atop the various pictures hanging in my path. Nada, zilch, zip, zero. Clean as a whistle! The pizza we enjoyed later was delicious but the crust tasted better cold for some reason. The cleanliness of this restaurant blew me away! We will return to Goalpost in the near future and we both look forward to another pleasant dining experience. read more

A few months ago two of their employees were messing around in the kitchen and one ran through the side glass door. They had to throw everything out and make new stuff. They didn't even bother to let the customers know who ordered the food to be delivered. The so called manager wrote down my order for a Stromboli wrong and tried blaming me. I can see 2 of these reviews are an advertisement. This is a very small restaurant (30-40 seats) run by teenagers. The service you get is to be expected when everyone working here is under 18. The food is mostly deep fried except the pizza. The pizza is extremely salty, but it seems to be more popular than any other pizza place in town. My family (parents-grandparents) eat there at least twice a month. I try to avoid it, but find myself dragged there occasionally. Prices are reasonable. You'll find $4-5 hamburgers, $8 fried shrimp and $14 pizza (2 large 2 item). If you want get away from the commercial atmosphere and experience ordinary small-town people while eating food that is OK , then this is the place for you. read more
