Pizza kind of day. I sat in the car and ordered online. I wanted something with a little heat and the Hot Stuff fit the description. They offered a deal that included a side, I went with a small order of cheesesticks. The Hot Stuff (Individual) had pepperoni, seasoned beef, Italian sausage, jalapeños, diced onions, and Mozzarella cheese. I also went with a light drizzle of Ranch dressing and extra sauce. Yep, I wanted the extra. Plus I saw from a fellow Yelper's review preferring more sauce. The combined ingredients plus the Ranch made for a nice meal. Oh and the cheesesticks with the marinara sauce topped it off. I pulled around to the drive through earlier than my estimate time and had to wait but glad my wait was not in vain because my food was fresh out of the oven. I was craving some GOOD pizza and after looking at photos of food from Godfather's Pizza, I was determined to make the trip out to Lakeshore! No regrets!! When I walked in I noticed that it wasn't crowded at all; however, there was a family dining inside and while I waited on my to go order ,there were a few people coming in to get call in orders. The young man who took my order was really bashful but he was so nice and helped me with a smile on his face the entire transaction! Since this was my first time ordering from here, he directed me on which direction to go in on the menu as well as showed me the different pizza size options. I ended up with a Med combo classic pizza and a side salad which was one of their Value Deals. The med Classic combo pizza served up to 3-4 people. My pizza consisted of pepperoni, sausage, onions, peppers and mushrooms. What I noticed first was how finely chopped the toppings were. I really liked that aspect. Secondly, the pizza didn't have a ton of sauce on it but my preference would have been that there was a little more sauce. The golden crust, their version of hand tossed crust was sturdy enough to handle all the toppings! I really enjoyed this pizza ALOT! I don't know what it was about that side salad but it was amazing! This was a basic side salad with just iceberg lettuce, cucumber, and tomato. I picked italian as my dressing. The dressing was also really good and had a nice bold flavor! Real good food and I didn't have to wait long for my food. The inside decor is simple but unique and I captured a few photos of the interior. The inside is bigger than it appears from the outside. The inside was really clean as well. I would like to mention that the manager(possibly owner) was very engaged in the operation of this establishment. I decided to try Godfather's Pizza for the first time today on my lunch break. I was hoping to dine in but unfortunately their dining room is only open until 2:30 p.m. during the week, however the restaurant was still very clean and welcoming. I decided to order the Wild Wild West individual pizza. The pizza was a bbq pizza topped with bbq sauce, chicken, bacon, caramelized onions, and cheese. I only had to wait about 10 minutes, and the pizza was fresh and pretty tasty. I feel as if the bbq sauce was a little excessive compared to the bbq pizzas i've had in the past, so I would rate it a 8.5/10, however I definitely see myself going back to try the other specialty pizzas! read more

This is the most expensive national chain medium pizza I have ever purchased. I love pizza I have purchased from New York to Chicago .I'm 60 plus years old. The place is clean,nice cashier. I wanted to use a 20.00 GROUPON on pizza and side. You can't do that as it is using two coupins... I guess I understand that. But a a medium pizza with unlimited topping can be found under 16.00 . Dining in might push this to 4 stars if the pizza is hot out of the oven, but we opted for carry-out to stay in on a Friday and experienced it somewhat cold. Crust was subpar and not flavorful but the toppings were of good quality. The sauce wasn't my favorite and I felt it had too much of a tangy taste to it. The COVID-19 excuse is wearing thin. Take-out only. Management: For a take-out only restaurant, the place is not prepared. You order a pizza, you get thepizza and a box. There are no salt/pepper, cheese, oregano or red pepper available. No knives, or forks or paper plates either, although they did give me 2 napkins (on request). I was excited to hear that there was now a Godfather's Pizza in town! I was a big fan of Godfather's back in college. I remember going for their awesome buffets after a football game and being on a college student budget was even better. This Godfather's Pizza stands in the same location where Starbucks used to be on the corner of a small shopping center right off Lakeshore between Moes Southwest and IHOP (or it is IHOB). Since it used to be a Starbucks, they also have a Drive-thru for easy pizza pickups. I believe they are the only Godfather's around here and has only been opened about two months? When you walk in you are greeted by the ordering counter with a soda machine to the left. To the right begins the "dining area". It's not a "open" area but instead has a row of tables that go toward the back. There are probably about 10 tables so there's room to eat-in. Their walls are painted with the "Godfather's" gangster motif of the 1940s. Their boxes and restaurant even flaunt their original tag line "Pizza you can't refuse". I still hear that jingle from their commercials. The power of advertising! On this 1st visit, I actually walked in to place a to-go order. They have a good variety on their menu. They have your typical pizza but they have 4 sizes: Small, Medium, Large and JUMBO! They also have "specialty" pizzas such as their bacon cheeseburger, humble pie, veggie pie, hawaiian, BLT, Buffalo chicken and taco pies. One thing I noticed was that they are also "health" conscious because next to every item was a calorie listing. I wanted to try everything but this time we just stuck to the basics and got one of their combos of 2 medium 2 topping pizzas with an order of cheese bread. The medium crust that we got was delicious... a hint of garlic. One thing you will notice with Godfather's that you won't find on a Dominos pizza is that they will load the pizza with cheese! The pizzas looked almost completely white and we couldn't tell what the toppings were underneath. Delicious marinara sauce on the pizza, everything bakes to perfection. The sausage and pepperoni were ample and delicious. The cheesy bread was... well how can cheesy bread be bad?!? It wasn't busy when we were there so I didn't have to wait very long at all before they brought out our order. Their prices are definitely on the higher side than Dominos or Little Ceasars but you're getting a better quality pie in my opinion. If you're in a hurry, call ahead and use their drive-thru window. Being from Chicago and considering myself a bit of a know it all about pizza, all I can say is... what the hell did I just eat? I hate to say this, but you can get a better frozen pizza from a large grocery store. The crust was very thin and didn't hold up to our toppings of sausage and beef. Went to Godfather's Pizza after being recommended as the best pizza in town. I may not be the best pizza critic but I certainly enjoyed my meal. We ordered online and were able to customize our pizza exactly how we wanted it, which I appreciated! We ordered a pizza that was half humble pie and half pepperoni with 2 sides - italian monkey bread and cinnamon monkey bread. The humble pie was creative, the pepperoni's were placed under the cheese and the peppers were cooked on top. The sides were delicious and I would certainly order this exact meal again. The price was reasonable for a large custom pizza and 2 sides especially because we split it between three people. I'm not sure if there is dine-in currently but the worker was wearing a mask. I've loved Godfathers for a long time. So glad to have discovered this Birmingham location (others I've been to we're all the way in Mobile). Our pizzas were very good and lived up to my expectations. Notes: don't expect cheap or fast pizza here. I'd compare it to the wait and reward of deep dish pizza. They make them to order and take between 20-40 minutes depending on demand. However, the pizzas are so so good!!! Worth the wait and money. read more

I have absolutely no regrets for eating this pizza. The crust is the perfect texture, the proportion of toppings is perfect, the sauce is perfect, the cheeeezzzzzzzeeee is....so gloopy melty, cheese pull madness, perfection. You got it? This pizza is perfect. I enjoyed every mother loving bite. And since the time I ate this pizza I haven't enjoyed other YOLO meals quite as much. Godfather's Pizza is a great place to grab a tasty pie in a hurry. I decided to try a basic thin crust pizza, and it was great. The crust was nice and crispy, and the pizza itself had just the right amount of sauce with lots of cheese. The service was phenomenal, and the employees gave me an extra pizza for free because they felt like the pizza I had ordered was not up to their standards. The establishment's inside was closed, and employees were wearing both gloves and masks during this Covid pandemic. Had an opportunity to frequent this new pizza spot over the weekend. It was a Sunday, there was a bit of a crowd when we walked in. The counter area is small, so it was a bit confusing as to where to stand. My husband and I both ordered individualized pizzas and a small drink. We were offered two sides because it was "the same price". We decided on the breadsticks and monkey bread. Now. My order was a chicken and Italian pizza with buffalo sauce. This was my go to at Pie Five and I was hoping for that same feeling. The buffalo sauce had a different flavor than I was going for. It was a little more sweet than hot, wasn't bad, just not hot. The toppings were piled on and had exceptional flavor. The pizza crust was lacking. I wondered if I had upgraded to the medium and did the buttery crust, would it have been better. My husband ordered the meats and it LOOKED good. Plenty of toppings. I asked him how he liked it and he said it was "ok One thing they can definitely work on is the training on customer service. One gentleman was exceptional, the other didn't really seem to have a clue he was there A few minutes after sitting down, I looked at my receipt and noticed that it stated a quoted time that was 45 minutes after ordering. First of all, we didn't plan on that kind of time. Second, no one told us it would be 45 minutes. So I went up the customer service desk to inquire about this. I showed my receipt to the young man and asked him why weren't we told it would be 45 minutes. And his response is "yea, they told us all pizza orders are about 30-40 minutes". Okay, well why didn't you tell me this when we ordered. He repeats the same thing and then says it probably won't take that long. I'm then a little frustrated because he doesn't seem to understand what I'm asking him. If there is going to be a 40 minute wait on orders, please let your customers know. About 10 minutes later, our food arrives. So in total, we waited only about 20-25 minutes for our food. Which isn't terrible, but it IS quite a wait for pizza. Any how, the same young man I spoke to earlier and ordered with delivered our food. Dropped it off. Never mind who ordered what and placing the correct pizza in front of them. Not asking if we needed anything. Just dropped it off and dipped. So all in all, I'm not sure we'll be back. read more

Sooo, this never happens to me but I'm at Godfathers to pick up pre-Turkey day pizza. Its clean as usual, a bit slow, but overall the usual friendly atmosphere. I placed my order and sat down to wait when a gentleman came out from the kitchen & explained that my order would have been cheaper if I had used the combo. Food is pretty good. It's on the pricey side for lunch. Please be aware if you order a side salad, it comes with a minuscule container of dressing. They will charge you for another. I recommend carrying a bottle of dressing in with you. If for nothing else than to prove a point. They go out of their way to make a customer feel unappreciated. We won't be back. read more

I said I'll bring it back but because I didn't want it. I tried Godfather's Pizza this week with another student and it did not disappoint! I decided to go with a basic cheese pizza since I was not that hungry and was low on time. This place is doing call ahead orders with a drive-thru style pickup. Upon calling an employee saw us sitting in the parking lot and asked if that was us already here. We told him it was and he bumped us up to the front of the line. Our order was ready within 10 minutes, but not only did we receive one pizza, but got an additional pizza because the cheese cooked too long for their liking. I personally loved the pizza just the way it was! This was a great experience and I am baffled by the amazing costumer service. All employees had on gloves and masks and the food came in typical cardboard boxes. If you ever have time, check this place out. read more
