I had an unusual craving for pizza. Being that I had never been to Fox's Pizza and after reading the very few Yelp Reviews they had, I decided to give them a try. I placed an online order. The online ordering process was simple yet complicated. I managed to get through it after a few failed attempts. Some of the issues I encountered were user error. When I arrived to pick up my online order, there was no one at the front counter, so I had to wait a little bit. After about a five minute wait , a very apologetic lady assisted me. She got my name and then proceeded to go get my order. Part of my order wasn't ready so I had to wait some more. I ordered a small (4 pieces) pizza and a custom Stromboli. I requested my pizza to be well done and it was. However, I didn't request well done on the Stromboli but I wish I had done so. The pizza was really tasty! I loved how crispy the crust was and how the pizza didn't have too much sauce. Actually , it had the right amount of sauce! I was able to taste the pepperoni , jalapeño and cheese all without the ingredients being drowned out by pizza sauce! Now , the Stromboli is a different story. I had a custom order where you were to pick your sauce(marinara, Italian , Alfredo, forgot the other options ) and up to 5 toppings. I really love veggies on my pizzas so I went with pepperoni, onions , mushrooms, green peppers , and black olives. I felt like the Stromboli had way too much sauce and I noticed that some of the ingredients were not fresh. Canned ingredients are cheaper but can sometimes jeopardize flavor. Plus side to the Stromboli was the pizza dough . It created the perfect outer shell but the ingredients inside didn't seem completely cooked throughout. I would certainly order this again but not without making a few alterations. Fox's is connected to a shell gas station in Trussville. Inside dining seating is available and they have televisions. Also , there's a pick up window. The restaurant appeared cleaned , service was good but nothing special stood out. Overall, this was a good experience and I will visit here again!

The pizza is great but takes forever to cook when they get super busy. They need a bigger place and more ovens.

I have had better pizza, but I thought that their pizza was decent. The best thing I tried was their pizza sticks and marinara sauce!

Absolutely love their hogies, especially their vegetarian ones. Their delivery is slow and service is slow but it is well worth it

In a gas station so I was skeptical but the pizza was delicious. I definitely recommend not judging this place by its appearance.

Every meal we've had has been full of flavor and consistently satisfying. The staff is extremely friendly and welcoming, and the bartenders do a great job of staying attentive and making sure customers are well taken care of. A special shoutout to the manager, Landon, who goes way above and beyond his duties to make sure everything runs smoothly and that guests feel appreciated. His leadership really shows in the quality of service throughout the restaurant. We always enjoy coming here to relax, hang out, and feel that true hometown atmosphere. The restaurant is always clean, and the restrooms are well maintained, which adds to the overall great experience. The sports bar atmosphere is a very loud environment so it is not conducive to a lot of talking but still an enjoyable experience. My wife really likes the Zydeco Salad (sweet chili-glazed fried shrimp, mixed greens, cabbage, candied pecans, jalapeños, tortilla strips, red onions, bell peppers, jack cheese, pepper jelly vinaigrette). Pepper Jack Boudin (jack cheese, pepper jelly vinaigrette) is almost always a part of our order. If you have never had, I recommend you give them a try. The Voodoo Shrimp & Grits (bacon-wrapped jalapeño and cream cheese stuffed-shrimp tossed in sweet chili glaze, served with cheddar grits) are an interesting take on the traditional Louisiana dish. I had never had corn mixed in with my grits before but it was a nice addition. The dish is large enough to split, especially when you add the boudin and Beignet Bites for a full meal. The Seafood Poboy with a choice of boom boom shrimp, fried shrimp or fried catfish with tomato, lettuce, pickles, mayo, poboy bread is another great option.

I say fortunately because when he got home with the pizzas after picking them up for take out, I was shocked at how small the Southern Style Deep Dish ended up being. Essentially it was the size of the old personal pan pizzas from Pizza Hut. While unsure what a "southern take" on a Chicago style might mean, I did not expect the soupy mess of toppings in a bread bowl, which is what we received. There was nothing wrong with the taste and there were ample protein toppings, just not enough cheese to bind it all together. Since my wife was not home for dinner, we decided to save her a "slice" to try later. It sitting overnight and being reheated greatly improved the consistency. What usually makes Chicago Style successful is more cheese than you usually have on a hand tossed or tavern style and in some cases a top layer of dough to really make it into a "pie". The taste of the toppings has never been an issue for me (with the exception of the "Lazy River - crawfish ettoufee, beer braised sweet peppers, charred red onion and mozzarella). Overall my take is unless you are going to order some of their more unique options such as my favorite "Gator Bait" (marinara, mozzarella, alligator sausage, roasted chicken, jalapeño peppers, and drizzled with creole creme) there are plenty of other better places for your pizza cravings. My son is also a fan of their Margherita pizza. For me it will likely be a good long while before suggesting a visit or pick up again.

In fact, it was a challenge to decide on only one pizza to order because there were several that we wanted to taste. We did decide on the Gator Bait, a spicy pizza with alligator sausage, raw jalapeños, and a creole sauce. It was absolutely delicious. We also ordered a side of ranch and it was definitely homemade, on the thinner side, perfect for dipping. 08-24-2025
