Every cabin felt private and unique and the babbling creek and ponds along the Creekside were so relaxing to sit by with lots of Adirondack chairs overlooking the creek and rocking chairs on the cabin porches. We also chose this place because they allowed my Australian Shepard to come (only some cabins). The whole experience was amazing and only a 5 minute drive to the main strip. We spoke to Lasca, who was actually out with her family for dinner Despite this, she got us set up in the cutest farmhouse, gave us directions and instructions to get in, and after her dinner was over, she stopped by to check if we needed anything. After several days in hotels (nice ones too) we were pleasantly surprised at how clean and well-furnished the cabin was and how wonderful the owner Beverly was. Guests are free to come and go as they please and there is no lengthy check-in process, which is really nice after nearly a week. We felt at home immediately and have shared many pictures with friends and family, who were impressed. The bathroom lights flickered downstairs, the bathrooms had numerous moths or some type of flying winged insect in them, one downstair's bathroom had a wet floor by the toilet which may have been from a leaky toilet or pipes under the floor. The numerous flying insects were to me an indication that there was something wrong underneath the surface. The flying insects were seen day and night.

The guest house is beautiful and so quaint with wonderful primitive antiques, but yet very comfortable. There was also a refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, and hair dryer. The front porch is wonderful for morning coffee or an evening glass of wine with great wicker rocking chairs. The house is only about four to five minutes from town, but you have a feeling of being in the country even though it is close to the main road. If you bring your pet, DO bring a leash, as it is not fenced in. Wonderful stay! Could not have asked for more. They are unavoidable in a country area. We enjoyed the hot tub for a little relaxation. It had pretty much everything you need. We didn't cook, but there are appliances. No ice maker, but ice trays. Blow dryer, ironing board, TV with internet connection for Netflix. Not a lot of rules about clean up, but we did gather our towels and put trash in trash bins. Very welcoming. We really enjoyed ourselves. I wouldn't hesitate going back, but now I know about the shower!

The menu does an excellent job showcasing Texas comfort food with creative, seasonal touches. And dessert was unforgettable.
