I booked back-to-back appointments online for a regular manicure & a 15 minute chair massage with Amy. Amy rushed through my manicure & after shaping my nails, left sharp edges on the corners. When I asked her to smooth out the edges, she said "later" after I pay. She was more interested in having me pay than finishing the mani prep to my satisfaction. She said she had another customer waiting. I don't appreciate being rushed through a service. I had arrived before my appt time. I don't know where the problem arose. I was so annoyed. I chose to pay & leave with half the manicure done, sharp edges on the corners & no polish applied. I skipped the massage. While my manicure was in progress, another employee came up from behind & tried giving me the massage without asking. I requested she wait until the manicure was done. I like to relax & enjoy the massage. I opted to skip the massage due to the tension in the salon. In fairness, in the past, Norma did a couple of manicures & chair massages for me & she was very good. She wasn't listed as an option when I booked online. I learned she was off today. read more

Godwin nail and spa is the place to go for clean accommodations and friendly staff. The atmosphere is super relaxing and the visit is like a treat. They use reusable liners for pedicures and santize all the work stations after each use. Highly recommend this place - but make sure to call in for an appointment as they are usually busy. read more

I have been coming here since it opened several years ago and I love it here. The staff is always great (they know me by name now), the place is clean, and they keep Tom and Jerry on loop (obviously the best part)! I will continue to come here as long as they stay open! The only downside to this place is that they aren't open on Sundays. It's difficult for me to get there after work on a weekday or a Saturday. I live in Bergen County. So all my errands have to be run on Saturdays. Throwing a nail appointment in there is difficult. They do always make time for me no matter when I go in, so I guess that's a plus! read more

This place is ok if you're going off hours. I usually don't book but came here on a Saturday afternoon. They said that they could take me for a mani pedi at 3. So when we came at 3 they said to pick a color and sit on the couch for 10 minutes. At that point I asked how long would I had to wait and they said they would take me now and waited another 5 minutes. At that point I got up and left It's very dark inside and kinda depressing too. Went for a mother/daughter pamperin' on our off day. This is one of the few nail salons in ridgewood with convenient parking which is a major plus. The interior is very modern. Squeaky clean, or so it looks, and has a wide range of high quality nail polish displayed neatly against the wall. Mind you, however, the CND brand polish will cost you an extra $5 because of its supposed quality. I got both mani + pedi in CND (extra $10 total). Time will tell how long these babies will last and I will be back for an update. My initial impression of the staff was not great. They seemed unwelcoming and cold, even almost rude, to a point where I contemplated for a minute whether or not to walk back out. I'm not sure if it was because of the looks I was exchanging with my mother regarding their attitude, but they did warm up to us gradually so I didn't leave the place feeling bitter. I received a spa mani + spa pedi which was $80, plus CND polish for both mani and pedi, which added up to a total of $90 . My mother received a package which included a reg. Mani + reg. Pedi + 20 min backrub. This was $60, but after upgrading her to a spa mani + CND polish, her total came out to $83. the services are, indeed, pricey. However, it was well worth the money in my opinion considering how much time they spent on us* and the fact that they were not stingy with the products they used. i don't see this place becoming my permanent go-to salon, but i was satisfied with the service regardless. Four stars for the lacking regular nail color selection and the fact that they re-use buffers and nail files (many NYC shops are switching over to 1-time-use products). I did notice they have a ton of gel colors but they definitely need to up their regular color game. The manicure itself looks great. I especially liked the exfoliating product they use with the hand massage. The place is HUGE. I'd recommend it to go with a group of friends and/or to host a party. read more

This place always accommodates. I came here after a HORRIBLE gel manicure experience elsewhere. And spoke with them about how to gently fix the nails that were splitting and several of which were brittle. They did as good a job as any to fix the nails, which will only correct themselves with time, but they made them look more presentable. Will update with pictures next time I leave. read more

This place can't be beat in Ridgewood. I very seldom book and when I don't the longest I have waited is 10mins for an appointment. I have had a variety of technicians, all of which are good however Joan is my go-to. She is friendly, polite and always does a great job. You also get a lovely neck rub after your manicure. The salon itself is modern, clean and plays good music :) the massaging chairs are definitely a plus. I have tried other salons in Ridgewood but always come back here as they are the best I have found! read more

During my recent manicure/pedicure, the "boss" was not there and the "inmates were running the asylum." It was not busy so 3 of the women were standing together, speaking a foreign language, pointing at customers and then laughing. A friend who originally recommended this nail salon said she has experienced the exact same thing. Solution: the owner needs to be on sight ... or ... the women working there need a class on basic manners. They have now lost 2 former loyal customers. read more

My family and I have been going to this establishment for the past few years and we used to be very happy with their services. Unfortunately, within the last 6 months, we have been extremely disappointed with certain employees and their quality of manicures and pedicures. This last visit is the last straw: my sister's manicurist did not bother to paint her entire nail, there is a huge gap in between where the paint ends and the nail bed starts. My pedicure massage was the worst I've ever had...she put in no effort whatsoever. I then had to ask the same lady for another nail coat for my manicure; it was so streaky and she did not care. Also, I left with a weird polish stain on my fingers...the manicure station was dirty. They are not friendly when you walk in. I am disappointed in what this place has become. I liked this place. I walked in during the day without an appt., which was no problem. I had a male nail tech, Terry, for my pedicure. He was pleasant and hard working. I asked him to shorten some of the nails a bit, which he did. He spent a long time massaging my legs with lotion and gave me a short shoulder/neck massage while I was under the dryer. They had a decent selection of OPI & Essie polish, although I brought my own (an OPI shade they didn't have). Cost of basic pedi is $25, although they have a M-Th special of $30 for mani/pedi, which I may do next time. read more

Purposely made a 5:00 appointment for me and my daughters because I had 6:30 dinner reservations. Waited a half hour before they finally took my daughters. After another 10 minutes I told them I had been waiting 40 minutes for a 5:00 appointment. The woman pointed to someone else and told me that person would take me when she was free. When the woman finally came over to me I politely said something to her about my wait and she couldn't have cared less. As I paid the $69 tab for me and my two daughters I mentioned it to the owner who looked at me like I had two heads and didn't bother acknowledging it. I wasn't nasty. I didn't raise my voice. I didn't refuse to pay. I was not at all rude. During the spring and summer I get a pedicure every couple of weeks, sometimes with my girls in tow. Was looking for a place to go regularly. It won't be here. I'll go somewhere that actually gives a hoot about me as a customer. Just would have appreciated an apology...to feel like my business was actually appreciated. read more

This is my go-to place for a mani pedi. I love it because of the atmosphere, the ample parking (in Ridgewood, gasp!) and the finished product. My nails always look great when I leave. Don't let the long row of pedicure chairs fool you though, the place never ever has enough staff to cover every chair. That being said, you may be wise to call ahead. Monday through Thursday you save $5 by getting both a mani and pedi. Also, they give you a punch card that gives you one free manicure after your tenth visit (a solid strategy for getting customers to come back.) Oh, and I find both of the managers (there's a male one, although I haven't seen him in a while, and a female one) to be cold to both the customers and their staff. So I took off a star for that. I want to have good things to say about this place, I really do. I came here religiously since they opened until a couple of months ago. I got gel every two weeks, and the owner knew both my mom and I well. Previously I always had good experiences here, but a few months ago I started noticing that with my gel (that I payed $40 every other week), after a day or two the color would start peeling up on multiple of my nails. I mentioned this a couple of times during my appointments and really got no response as to why that could happen (maybe they don't have anything that can prevent that sort of thing). After one manicure that peeled so badly the next day, I went back because my nails looked horrible and I was traveling that weekend. They fixed the chipped nails and I was on my way. The next time I went for my appointment it happened again, so I went back again the next day. The gel is advertised to last two whole weeks and mine wasn't even lasting one day. This time, I mentioned that this kept happening and again received really no response. I asked to change colors, knowing that darker colors usually last longer on me, plus I really did not want to have to come back again or deal with more peeling. I was charged for a full gel manicure just for the polish change, when I had been there the previous day and even showed my membership card with the date to prove it. I was shocked that as a loyal customer here, after voicing this issue several times and getting no help at all, I was charged for a full gel. They were the first good (solid) nail salon that I finally found after relocating. Initially I was impressed (but when you see how bad other places are, it's not that difficult to be impressed). They look new, clean, and modern and it's nice. Great polish selection too. They did an above average job with my pedicure. However, my 2nd visit there, I got someone different who asked me after I had already selected which pedicure type (I mean she was already working on my nails) if I wanted callus removal? I didn't know what that entailed. Like the razor? She said no and I breathed a sigh of relief. Just going to exfoliate it. OK I said. When it came time to pay, she charged me an extra $10 and caught me by surprise. I was really uncomfortable and felt deceived and the service for the supposed callus removal was no different than what you get in a regular pedicure at other places. It bothered me that I was approached in a deceptive way and not informed that it was considered extra. I always felt uncomfortable with the pressure that they would put on me when asking which pedicure I wanted to select because they want me to select the expensive spa pedicure. If I don't trust the place or have faith enough in their services, I never go for the expensive spa pedicure. Not to mention, they don't treat all of the customers the same. I always got shortchanged on the massage even though I'm a good tipper. Sadly, I was going to give this place a good rating and designate it as my go to from now on but HAPPILY and luckily, I found a place that does an even better job, is even cleaner believe it or not, and treats you excellent so I won't be returning ever as long as I have this new place to go to.
