My husband and I sought this place out in search of good Korean food. This was just great. We each had a different lunch special, I the Beef Bulgogi Set. He the Chicken Gut Set. It was huge and really good. We each got 4 small banchan serving (kimchi, bean sprouts, cucumber kimchi, and tofu). I had a nice serving of delicious beef bulgogi, a bowl of rice, and even better a small (adequate) serving on soft tofu jjigae, or soup/stew. Not only was it filled with silky soft tofu, but also bits of seafood and some veges. Too back the lunch special is only on weekdays! Service was great and quick.

I've had this place on my radar for quite some time. It was quiet night, there were only a few people in the restaurant. I was very surprised by that, since the place was very clean, service was good, and most importantly the food was good. We started with a seafood pancake. It was still sizzling when it came out and stayed hot for a long time. I wish l had taken some video! I will say it was the best seafood pancake I've ever eaten. My daughter had ramen, she liked it. And my wife had bidimbap. She loves the the rice on the bottom that is stuck together and cooked well done, and it had plenty. Me, I had thinly sliced beef tongue. I normally would order spicy baby octopus or squid, but rare that I see tongue on the menu other then in a deli. The tongue was a little bit over cooked for me, but it was still really good.

The best seafood pancake I have ever had! I just had to say that first. The seafood was tender and it was served on a hot stone, so it stayed hot. Now that that is out of the way - we love Korean food and we all enjoyed our food. I never thought I would hear my daughter say "can I have more of that beef tongue?" The restaurant was clean, service was friendly and everyone enjoyed their food. My daughter had ramen and was a little disappointed that they didn't have a proper ramen spoon but said the dish was delicious. We will definitely be back.

Delicious Korean food! Hubby and I have been here multiple times and we absolutely love this place! Gogiya is a cute, clean and quiet little restaurant that's hidden in the corner of a plaza in Davie. Everything here is fresh and is made to order and comes out in a timely matter. Our usual go to is the seafood pancake which always comes out sizzling hot and and super crispy as well. We love love love their Galbi tang (short rib stew), its so delicious and warms you up inside. Even though you don't get to grill your own meats, their galbi and other meats are full of flavor and is very tender. The staff here are super friendly and always welcomes everybody with a big smile. They even have an awesome lunch special available during the weekday from 11:30-3pm which comes with rice and soup! Always looking forward to eating here ! :)

Found this place because I did not want to cook dinner lol. I can see why it has such great reviews. You can tell it is family owned. The food was so good, had so much flavor and definitely worth the price. We got the Korean BBQ short ribs which came with different sides like Kimchi, rice, cucumber salad, glass noodles and beans sprouts. We also got the beef stew with rice. Everything was fresh and great. It's not your typical Korean BBQ where you cook it yourself and I like that. Don't come out smelling like burn. There was K-pop playing not too loudly and some KDramas on as well. The customer service could be slightly better. We had to wave to our server to order something each time, and I felt bad because it was always when she was busy. They were very sweet nevertheless. Overall, I will return because the food was just so tasty and fresh. You can tell it was made to order.

Korean food is my favorite, and I wasn't sure I was going to be able to find the same quality in the Davie area as central Florida - but this place is amazing! Firstly, the portions are HUGE. We were eating our leftovers all week. The restaurant itself is quaint & clean, and you can tell the staff really cares about your experience. We'll definitely be back to try their combos soon!

Drove up with ideas to go to a different establishment in the shopping center but saw Gogiya and it seemed promising so we decided to try it. My friend and I have had Korean in a few different Broward placed and some in Miami Dade county. First of all, the restaurant has ample seating and it's clean. We were told we could sit anywhere and the menus came quickly. After this our experience went downhill.... I feel the server was very inexperienced. We did not receive water. One of my nephews accidentally spilled a soda and it took three people from the restaurant to clean it up and we were not offered a replacement. We ordered the chicken wings as an appetizer and for the price and serving we received we were not happy. The wings were TINY and only 6 wings. The food came quickly and typically in Korean restaurants you are brought "Banchan" a little bit before your main meal, they brought it all together. For the Dolsot bowl in the clay pot they did not offer to mix it up for us or instruct us on how it should be eaten. Luckily it was not our first time. It was good, but a little on the bland side. The LA galbi serving was good and the meat was tasty. At the end of the meal we were not offered dessert and simply brought the bill before we asked. I'm not sure I would visit again because my go to Korean is an additional 15/20min drive and service/food is better. For a quick local weeknight meal it is worth a shot and it is not bad! But don't order the chicken wings, you'll be disappointed.

This place was delicious! We got the 4 people set and added some additional sides and it came about to be $50ish including tip a person I believe. The meats were so flavorful, tender, and piping hot and it was the perfect mix of fatty meat and refreshing vegetables. We also loved the kimchi jjigae, tteokbokki, and bibimbap. Personally the bibimbap was nothing special to me, but everything else came out amazingly. At first we were apprehensive about the meat portions, but we all left extremely satisfied. For the meat quality and speedy service I'd definitely return! The lunch specials looked like great deals to try if you're in the area.

Authentic Korean Cuisine! I have a reunion party with 2 old friends. They loved the dishes and service was very good. So many variety to select with side dishes. Our waitress that day was very friendly and professional.

I really wanted to try Korean BBQ and did a quick Yelp search to try and find one. This place had the best reviews and the food looked delicious. Due to the crazy weather here as of late, I ordered my food as take-out so that I could make it back home before the rain started. I ordered the bulgogi beef because it was something that I'd been wanting to try. So I got the Bulgogi Set because I wanted all of the extras. With the set you got the beef, rice, side dishes (sides of the day) and choice of jjigae. The Bulgogi beef itself was a little too sweet for my taste buds but still good. I opted for the kimchi jjigae and honey I could eat that by itself. It was so delicious. I loved that it had tofu in it. I don't know exactly what the sides were but all of it was delicious especially what I predict is fried tofu stripes. I also ordered fried pork dumplings. They could have been fried a little harder but what still delicious. I will definitely be back. I want to try some of the other dishes.

MY NEW GO-TO AUTHENTIC KOREAN SPOT! This was a hidden gem I'm so happy I found. I'm not even joking the menu was huge, full of all the classic Korean dishes, place was packed with locals, hardworking staff and had tons of seating. I ordered beef ramen and corn cheese and loved both of them! The beef ramen had great flavor & ingredients, I wish I had a 2nd bowl honestly. The corn cheese was great but as a cheese lover, could have had more cheese haha. Overall, I'm going to have to stop myself from coming here daily!!!

Lovely dinner, very big menu. BBQ was very good and we didn't even have to cook it ourselves (no open grills here). Good location and service was friendly.

Stopped by this place in search of good Korean bbq in the area. This place is not a place where you cook your own and is not all you can eat. The food here is A La carte, but they do offer some combos with the different kind of meats. We did one of the meat combos that came with Bulgogi, brisket, chicken and we substituted short ribs for the 4th kind of meat. The first 3 meats were just okay. Before the short ribs came out, I thought to myself this is disappointing for the price. However the short ribs more than made up for everything else. There were full of flavor and super tender. We would come back and just have the short ribs.

The Spread: We ordered the brisket, smoked chicken, spare ribs, and baby back ribs -- yes, all four -- on one tray lined with butcher paper. It looked like a BBQ fever dream and tasted even better than it looked. The Meats: The brisket was the standout for me. Smoked over real wood for 12+ hours, hand-carved, pink smoke ring, tender all the way through. The baby back ribs were glazed and meaty with deep smoky flavor, and the spare ribs were thick, juicy, and packed with bold bark. The smoked chicken rounded it all out -- moist, flavorful, never dry. The Sides: Rice and peas with coconut milk -- fragrant and perfectly cooked. The 4-cheese mac was outrageously creamy (I kept going back for more). The sweet and tangy coleslaw was the perfect palate cleanser between bites of rich, smoky meat. The Extras: The 4-pack of sliders was a great add -- soft buns, well-seasoned patties, could easily make a meal on their own. The fries were golden and crispy. And the watermelon lemonade Kool-Aid with berries at the bottom? Refreshing, unique, and the perfect closer to an incredible meal. The Space: Big news for fans of Bare Bones -- they've just opened a brand new storefront next door with about a dozen additional tables and plenty of seating for the whole family. No more eating in your car or rushing home with takeout. You can now sit back, relax, and enjoy that tray of smoked goodness the way it was meant to be experienced. It's a welcome upgrade that somehow makes the food taste even better. This is a family-run operation with over 20 years of food experience and it shows in every detail. Bare Bones isn't just good BBQ -- it's a South Florida treasure.

The restaurant is inviting and spotless, with cozy booths on one side and tables for walk-in orders. The food truly impresses. The chicken is perfectly fried--crisp without being greasy, tender, and packed with flavor. It's a clear step above KFC, Popeyes, or any American fried chicken chain. The place is really spacious, the staff very friendly, and they bring the food to you if you are eating in, so it's a step above fast casual. There is also a lot of alcoholic drinks on the menu with daily specials. Our usual go to for fried chicken is CM in North Miami Beach, but my husband prefer this place for a cleaner, more comfortable space, and he loves not having to deal with bones. He really likes his chicken in soy garlic flavor with sweet potato fries. Me, I actually prefer gnawing on bones (guess I am a dog person alright). I also find CM's chicken has better flavor in the meat itself. Another problem I have with bb.q is that the quality is not quite consistent. One time the chicken barely have any coating it was almost like grilled chicken with sauce. Another time the coating was so thick it wasn't cooked through and the soft doughy bit wasn't exactly pleasant in the mouth.

At Shorty's, I asked if the 1/4 chicken dish was gluten free. The server said yes it's just baked chicken and I asked about the marinade per the menu. She said it's "Shorty's sauce" so I asked if it's GF and she said she didn't know, so I asked if she can please find out. She came back and said there's no marinade so I went ahead and ordered the chicken. I asked her if she could tell me if any of the table sauces were GF and again "I don't know". I asked if she can please ask someone who would know and no rush. She said she would get someone to come talk to me. Several minutes passed, she brings my food and I ask again about the sauce and she seems bothered and said they are way too busy and probably no one will be able to come talk to me. I wait some more time, and when the next round of meals comes out, we ask again and she reiterated that it's too busy and no manager or chef was able to give her a simple answer about if the BBQ sauce is gluten free. All she said was she knows the bbq is "sugar free or something". So after waiting, I just decided to eat and the chicken was BONE DRY. It felt like sacrilege the way they cooked that chicken until it was nearly powdered. Fast forward and meal ends and the server noticed I didn't eat much and asked why, I said the chicken is dry and she said "oh yeah it's always dry and you couldn't have sauce". ... It was empty. But it slowly got more diners, with about 5 tables filled before we left. Nevertheless, we ordered pan-fried dumplings, the three meat combo plate with roast duck, BBQ roast pork, and crispy pork. We also got a seafood platter with salt and pepper shrimp, squid, and scallops. The latter didn't have much taste. We couldn't even taste any salt and pepper. They had forgotten to put the rice on the plate. (The dish is advertised as being served on a bed of rice.) The meat platter was decent. Although the duck skin needed to be crispier, the pork skin was very crispy. The BBQ roast pork was tasty, boasting a nice char siu flavor. The few strands of Chinese broccoli that was served with the dish was cold, as if it was added from the refrigerator. We enjoyed the pan-fried dumplings. They seemed to be homemade. Located off Stirling Road (accessible from both directions), Hong's BBQ sits amongst the various shops that make up the Stirling Place Plaza. If you're here based off your search for food around the Seminole Hard Rock Casino and Hotel Hollywood, you've got the same idea as us and this review is for you; Hong's is essentially "around the corner" from the casino and a great option if you want to venture off the resort for some great food. Recommended by a source for reliable eats, we decided to give Hong's BBQ a go before our trip back to Tampa. We found that Hong's BBQ has some great authentic Canto-style Chinese cuisine. Not big by any means (you can't necessarily host a large banquet style gathering here), there is definitely ample seating - mainly suited for parties of 4. We came around 1pm on a Sunday and had no issues being seated - although the restaurant maintained a steady flow of customers in and out of the restaurant. There are a few larger round tables scatter throughout with the typical lazy-susan setup in the center that may accommodate larger parties of 6-8. If you're not interested in dining-in, there is definitely a "butcher's" station/display that is set up toward the back of the dining section. The setup within the restaurant definitely brought back nostalgic memories of Chinatown restaurants and their racks of char-siu, roast duck, pig, and soy chicken hanging under the heating lamps. From here, you can order cuts of the aforementioned meats by weight without the "extras." The menu offered a great variety of Canto-style cuisine; I would argue that it's hard to go wrong with a choice based on their selections they have available. We ordered two noodle soups (roast duck and char siu), along with an order of the beef chow fun, which were all outstanding. Beginning with the noodle soups, you have 3 different noodle options; I opted for the flat rice noodles which I instantly craved upon identifying it as a choice. The noodles were cooked to al-dente perfection that had a good amount of "bounce" while easy to chew. The broth was also on a whole other level that warrants praise in itself. The beef chow fun is also a must - yes, I recognize that this may be considered a "basic" choice, but Hong's BBQ makes this the right way. The service wasn't poor - let's just say that it falls in line with the coveted 3-star Asian restaurant rating (If you know, you know). The servers knew how and when to deliver. All in all, Hong's BBQ is a great place to dine with your family. I would recommend this to anyone in or travelling to this area.
