I tried out the caldereta and the mechado (?). I liked both items but I found it too oily for my liking. The vegetables were stewed perfectly and the meat texture were nice and tender. I think had I visited earlier in the day, it may have had a less oily texture to it. The accompanying soup was super sour but acted as a perfect palate cleanser after the oily meals. The service was excellent-- friendly, patient, and helpful. You can pick and choose different entrees over rice or pancit. Similar to getting food from Panda Express. The inside of the restaurant has several family friendly seatings available and baked goods and market also. Lastly, parking is free and plentiful right across from the front entrance. If an out of area Filipino asked for a good place to eat, I wouldn't hesitate recommending them. I certainly wouldn't mind revisiting again in the future.

I love how well they treated Mak Mariano, and his friends, and also those that came to see and hang out with him. The staff were very kind to allow us all to hang out and take pictures. The food- My hubby ate while I enjoyed hanging out, listening to, and watching Mak tell stories and interact with everyone. Hubby enjoyed the food as always. This was our 2nd time or 3rd time coming here, and even though I can't remember what we had, I know for sure we enjoyed the food. This time around my hubby had Kare-kare and really liked it! We also bought a big container of sisig to go, which we had for dinner and we absolutely love it!!! I'd say Fiesta Kainan is our new fave go to for quick Filipino meals.

You can dine in or do takeout. The restaurant has a laid back vibe, and pretty decor. The hanging light fixture is super cute!! The staff is friendly, and we were greeted promptly!! We ordered a garlic butter corndog, a regular corndog, fries, a cookie butter shake, a chicken sandwich, and a mango lemonade... The owner is super sweet, she brought out new items for us to try that she'll be adding to the menu soon. The crab rangoon fries and crab rangoon wonton nachos.. We didn't have to wait long for our food. I was satisfied with that. Korean corn dogs: the garlic butter was tasty on the corn dog, and the regular one was good also with both sauces. You can choose cheese, hotdog, or half and half!! I always enjoy them!! Fries: they were crispy and tasted fresh! The crab rangoon fries were good also. They had scallions, crab, and rangoon cream cheese sauce. The rangoon cream cheese sauce is delicious. We also added a little siracha sauce, which was just enough spice to make it pop. The wonton nachos had the same toppings as the fries. I really enjoyed the wonton chips!! I'd definitely get them again. I had leftovers and the wonton chips were still crispy. Chicken sandwich: it had kimchi cucumbers and honey siracha sauce. It was good and also on the $5 deals menu. Good deal! Cookie butter milkshake: we both liked the drink. The cookie butter taste came through good. My daughter was a little confused because it didn't have ice cream like a milkshake would. So it's more of a thick milk based kind of drink. But I did enjoy it. Mango lemonade: this drink was refreshing. It had just enough sweetness. It comes in a pint sized container. There's mango, watermelon, and strawberry. You can also add boba for an upcharge. Very tasty!! Cookie butter croffle: Mmmm! My daughter loved it, she left me one bite. Lol. This is one of my top flavors!! Honestly all the croffle flavors are good!! All I all, the food was good and customer service was also! There's always something new to be on the lookout for, so check them and their menu out! Don't forget the croffle for dessert.

The Imperial Palace was the perfect choice! The place was beautifully decorated and inviting, we loved the art and very authentic feel of it. Fell in love with the beautiful lamp in the main dining room! The staff were friendly and super responsive and helpful. Su took great care of us, explaining menu options and sharing with us that the restaurant has been there for thirty years and she has worked there for 20 of them. It had the feel of a great neighborhood restaurant! I had wonton soup and pork chow main. Everything tasted delicious with that great balance of fresh crunchy vegetables and flavorful ingredients customary of good Chinese food. Incredibly generous portions meant great left overs for tomorrow. We will definitely be back!

We wanted to get the egg rolls as I was craving it, but they said they do not have it despite being on the menu. That was a little disappointing. I got the 6 steamed dumpling, and when my husband chewed down there was bone chunks in the dumpling. We got the sesame chicken which mostly tasted like orange chicken with a little more soy sauce and a little less orange. It was tasty, but again the price for what it was did not match. The honey roasted duck was tasty with a savory thick sauce to dip. We got white rice with our dishes. My husband asked for chopsticks, and there were none which was surprising. The fortune cookie at the end was stale, and my fortune was kind of a hilarious demand to be vegetarian/vegan. The service was decent. The ambiance lighting was very red in color, making it feel dark on the inside. It is awkwardly quiet with loud clinking. One of the light fixtures was broken. Overall, food was just okay, and the pricing did not feel appropriate for what was served.

After attending a birthday party and running errands all morning, we arrived at Big Ugly starving. I immediately jumped in line for FF when we arrived. - TLC - There was a woman cooking the food and a guy handling the orders. They were extremely busy as they were the only food option at the time, but the guy was still courteous. Despite the high traffic, my order was ready in 15 minutes, as promised. - Noms - The menu is simple and consists of various combos of a handful of items. This was great, because I was able to try most of their items in a few orders. I ordered: #1 - Pancit, Teriyaki Chicken, Lumpia #4 - Fried Rice, Orange Chicken, Lumpia A la carte order of Pancit Bottle of water Pancit - good. Teriyaki Chicken - sauce was thick and concentrated, good flavor. Lumpia - great size, packed with filling and made to order (could have had 10 of those alone) Fried Rice - I think with the amount of traffic that day due to the event, she was trying to make big batches quickly and the soy sauce didn't distribute evenly, so I had patches of both white and fried rice. It was still good. Orange Chicken - good flavor. They were big chunks of chicken with minimal breading, which I appreciate. Overall, the food was fresh and the portions were generous. Two combos and a side order of pancit fed our family (and my school age children don't eat like birds either). Note about my pics: my fam tore up the food before I could even say "Wait!", so the pics are not a true depiction of how much food and how it was served. FF shut down shortly after we finished our meals. I overheard someone saying that FF had brought 6x the amount of food they normally bring and they sold out in a few hours! Good problem to have! I wonder if FF is on a regular rotation at Big Ugly Brewing, but I will definitely be on the look out for them again! Stay safe, Friends!

You'd have to ring a bell for someone to come out from the kitchen. Oh and not to mention where is the so-called Filipino hospitality? Aking mga kababayan? I am appalled by the fact that when they couldn't serve food that we wanted, the worker there chased after us when we left (ay naku!) and yelled "I tell you this - do not come and use our restroom)" there weren't signs anywhere... no wonder this restaurant is up for sale. In this world where anyone can choose to go to any place, you'd think that some hospitality is needed. Who knows having people come for any reason might actually result in some patronage.

I'm all for new businesses with a chill vibe and this place has it!…read more Well I found out this place is an extension of the Origami Asian Bistro. The bistro has a lounge/club atmosphere about it, while The Bamboo Room is a restaurant that caters to the brunch crowd. Well to my surprise I had never heard about either place until a few Sunday's ago. Somehow I received word through avenues that an event was taking place here on Sunday, February 11th. I was in the area, but I had already eaten breakfast. Seemingly, I figured I'd check it out because I was super curious. I did have a super hard time locating this place. After driving in circles for 10 minutes, I called the contact number and those directions provided were spot on. I believe the address I had was much different than the address that pulls up when searching for this place. Nevertheless, I am here... I pulled up and I saw at least four others walking ahead of me. I figured ok... traffic... this place must be worth checking out. I took a few pictures before heading inside... upcoming events taking place at Origami... I stepped foot inside and was immediately awestruck by the brow raising aromas of their Sunday brunch! Man, I wish I was a little bit hungry just to give them a try. But again, I was super full, but going by the smell alone, five stars!! Well speaking of stars... I subtracted a half of a star because I cannot vouch for the food because I did not try anything. And the other half of the star is because they did not have WINE! WHAT!!!??? So yeah, a huge blow...but mimosas were featured... at least two kind (a special juice and orange juice). I tried the special juice mimosa...sensational! I exchanged words with the bartender, Niecey, a waitress, Tiana and someone who seemed to oversee everything, Kam. They all were super friendly and forthcoming about everything. Especially the bartender she gave a me a little background on the restaurant and she enlightened me about Origami. Evidently they had an awesome SuperBowl event...she raved about it. And the young man, Kam, handsome fella, he asked a few times if I was ok... southern hospitality I'd say. Just an awesome vibe all throughout my dining in experience. The bartender even offered those sitting at the bar a sample of an alcoholic shot... it was delicious! I think I saw them offer everyone in the restaurant a shot... great hospitality I'd say. Cheers! Music was played through a speaker or two... nice tunes... those sing along type songs. Well I enjoyed it... anything from 80s music to Beyonce! There was a group present celebrating something and they all seemed to be having a great time! The atmosphere at noonish... the place is about 700 square feet and on this day including myself, the restaurant had about 25 guests during Sunday Brunch. I'm excited to return and try the brunch buffet with another mimosa! I recommend if you are in the area on a Sunday to give them a try. They only feature Sunday brunch right now. I believe. Now the Origami Bistro... I am unsure of the hours. But they have events from time to time... The Bamboo Room has spark a super interest... they are on to something! The Bamboo Room is located same shopping center as Ollies off of Virginia Beach Blvd. in Norfolk. Also in the shopping center you'll see, a Chinese Buffet Restaurant and MP Island Restaurant on the opposite end of the Bamboo Room. There is also plenty of parking. But visiting on a Sunday shouldn't present any issues at all. Have fun and enjoy life :)

I know we had to have waited for about 45 minutes for her to bring it. Overall this place definitely deserves a 3 out of 5. I will not be returning.
