Unfortunately my experience on today Saturday, 8-8-2026 was disappointing. Although I'm new to the hotpot themed restaurants, I wasn't impressed. Not much for me to choose from. I've only been to one hotpot previously called YC hotpot in May. Here at Hot Pot 757, The servers take really long to check in. I consider myself a good planner and my husband chose this place. It was our first and last time there. My husband birthday was Monday, the 3rd and his mother birthday, Friday the 7th, 4 days apart and so we decided to celebrate them together. I reserved online for 10 people and then I called the restaurant to confirm our reservations. I asked if they do anything special for birthdays and the person said yes, the birthday people eat free. That was surprising, and I was so happy to hear that. I was expecting a free desert or something similar. I've never been there before. I continued to confirm the reservation via email and text. I called once again to ask about the reservation and inquire if I needed to add the 4 additional people being my reservation was initially for 10 people. The person said no, wait until all my RSVP were confirmed. I said ok and mentioned the free birthday special I was previously told about. My personal RSVP responses were 14 people but only 10 showed up to the restaurant which was the amount I gave them originally so that was no problem. Very soon after arriving, one of our 10 left quickly without eating. So we had 9 people to actually sit and order. At the end, I asked about the check and was told by the server, that they stopped the free birthday in July. I was confused. I explained the entire story but then the lady spoke to me like I was stupidly and I had to keep repeating the story over and over as if I was lying. It was very belittling, and I had to remember I am a professional too and be mindful not to get loud or disrespectful. I explained repeatedly, I didn't make this up and on two occasions was told the birthday people would be free. She then said I'll honor the free birthdays as long as it within 3 days. I said , my husband birthday was Monday the 3rd and my mother in law birthday was yesterday. She then said if they show ID I will honor it as long as it's within 3 days. I just looked at her and said ok. So my husband, the one who birthday was Monday, was not free.His food plus a drink was $46 and some change. It wasn't only about having to pay, it was the principal and how it was handled. Overall besides that experience I still would not return. This left a bad taste in my mouth. read more

Worth every dollar! The all you can eat hot pot and grill is a great deal. There is a large variety of meats, seafood, and vegetables to choose from. My recommendation would be to try both ( why not if it's included) and take time to enjoy the experience. The staff were attentive and friendly. Our server helped those in the group who were new to hot pot and even shared great recommendations such as the sauces we could make using the sauces bar. That in-itself was a fun experience. I think this place has good selection of toppings and other options to choose from. Maybe we just had a bad server for our table. The service speed is atrociously slow. So if you don't order double or triple of everything in the beginning, you will wait upwards of hour and a half for the server to return for your next refill. I find that shameful and downright ridiculous. I get it that the restaurant gets busy but seriously? Too bad it has such good potentials to be a nice place to return every now and then. I finally checked out Hot Pot 757 & Korean BBQ in Chesapeake this totally redeemed hot pot for me! I'd tried it once before at another place and didn't love the experience, but this time was completely different. I've always been a fan of Korean BBQ, so I already had high hopes there, and it definitely delivered. Our waiter was super thorough walking us through how to do the hot pot, including what to add, how long to cook things, all that. You can pick ingredients one-by-one from the menu or choose from their suggested combos, which I really appreciated since it can be a lot when you're new to it. Now that I know my way around it, I'd probably be more selective next time. For the Korean BBQ side, there were tons of options, but the standout for me was the beef bulgogi. So good. They also have a whole sauce bar so you can customize everything: dipping sauces, toppings, flavor boosts for the broth, you name it. There's even a little freezer with ice creams, which is adorable. It's AYCE, so we left absolutely stuffed. Overall, I'd definitely come back, but next time I'd go with a group instead of just two people. Went to Hot Pot 757 with some friends to eat supper and one of our friends has not been to this restaurant, so we were excited to show her what it's about. We were seated in a booth and was greeted by Rolan our waiter. He was extremely friendly and answered any questions that we might have had. After scanning the extensive menu, and placing our hot pot and Korean bbq orders as well as the pots of broth, the grill was lit up and while waiting for our orders, we ventured to the sauce bar and the salad and fruit bar. We were able to grab some salad, lightly pickled daikon, kimchee, and seaweed salad, as well as make our dipping sauces for our meat and hot pot concoctions. All four of us had a great time making our individualized hot pots filled with dumplings, meats, and veggies, and grilling meat, seafood, and veggies. The ingredients we received were plentiful, very fresh, and it is great how large of a variety there is to choose from, all delicious! Rolan made sure to check in on us often putting in more orders that we requested, making sure we didn't have any questions about anything, changing our grill so it's not too smoky, and making sure that our drinks were filled. He was a great server! After we ate we got some fresh fruit from the bar, and some cold treats from the deep freezer. It was a wonderful way to end a great meal! I get hot pot almost every month and this place has been recommended to me for awhile so I decided to give it a try. It was very underwhelming, the meats all tasted less fresh and almost freezer burnt, the sauces didn't seem to be refrigerated so they congealed and did not have a good texture. Ironically the veggies here were fresher than other places so that was a plus. I'm glad I tried it out but there are other locations that are better for the same price. read more

My first Hot Pot experience and I enjoyed it very much! So many has popped up in our area so it was hard to pick which one to go to first. I am so glad this was my first pick! I had an awesome waitress that walked us through everything, the menu, the little buffet and the sauce area. She even made our dipping sauce for us. The good thing about this place is that the soup and the BBQ were included in the price. So it made it worth. The meat, seafood and veggie options are plentiful for everyone to find something to try out. The hot pot can be individually controlled so when it was at a boil I was able to turn it off. The BBQ plate can be switched out as needed as it gets a little burnt due to the seasoning/marination of the meat. And my waitress was on it too! There's cake and ice cream for after dinner but I was so full I didn't get to that... Oh and if you have any leftovers, they will allow you to bring it home for a fee. Eh. If you want to know if I'd go again... probably not. It was our first time to Korean BBQ here. We've been to Korean BBQ before, just not in this area. So, the server assumed we had been there previously based on our conversation even though I had said it was our first time. So, nothing was explained. I didn't realize we had to go get our own plates and silverware from the middle buffet area. So, this was an awkward start. We had to ask for things multiple times before we'd get them. I didn't personally love the flavors they used in the marinades, it could just be I'm used to something different. I usually love Korean food, just not a fan of these. We ordered the crab legs at dinner but our server informed us that only 1 cluster was included per person. I was surprised since I had called the day before to verify the crab legs were also AYCE. He asked his manager and confirmed that they are AYCE. They do come out cold and we found it hard to figure out how to heat them up on the BBQ. Again, there was no instruction but it seemed like common sense anyway. We decided it wasn't worth the effort and just ate them cold. Everything took a very long time. They automatically add in an 18% gratuity for parties of 5 or less and 20% for parties of 6 or more. When you get your receipt back to sign there is also a line to add a tip. So, just pay attention. We got strawberry shaved ice for dessert. My son loved it but it seems a little silly since the toppings are pretty limited. Oh! Napkins. Cloth napkins would be a great addition! Either that or more quality paper napkins. The ones they have don't help much, they're super thin, and we were making a mess with those crab legs. We were also informed that they got rid of all of their crab crackers since the scissors had a spot in the middle you could use. It was pretty complicated for my 7yo so I ended up doing all the cracking. I definitely won't bring my whole family here... it'd be too much work for Mom. My son got a kick out of me paying to cook. Lol. I definitely don't want to add in chasing down sauces. Overall it was pretty meh. Lacking in flavor... maybe that's where the sauces come in but I have a hurt foot and I was about to try all the sauces there to figure it out. Service is inconsistent and depends on what section you are seated in / which server you get. Some are exemplary and some forget to check in on you. Walking in, they have wide open spaces like most of these establishments. Guess it is for the ventilation of all the cooking at the tables? It just does not make for the most comfy/intimate feeling. They have a wide selection of items for hot pot and bbq, which was great. Some items could be cut a bit more careful. The meat thinner and some veggies less chuncky, at least in my preference. The broths were all great and had lots of flavor. They have my favorite, tomato. The sauces were my biggest gripe. Other places have more already ready mixed ones in addition to the separate ingredients to build a custom sauce. Here you were basically forced to make your own and the "recipes" provided did not have any indication of how much of each sauce element. read more

I can't speak on the Korean BBQ experience but thoroughly enjoyed my first visit that I have to share! My first visit was extraordinary & here's why I'll return. Hotpot 757 recognizes therefore offers a 10% military discount! The establishment is welcoming and spacious. We were greeted with smiles & politely escorted to our booth. There was no chaos and staff throughout the restaurant were all so very nice & pleasant. Their air ventilation system has got to be top notch as my eyes didn't tear up, I didn't observe clouds of smoke, nor did I leave wreaking of BBQ. This was a huge win for me! Our server, Zay, was upbeat, attentive, clear in his delivery, thorough and seemed to take pride in the work! Loved the service Zay provided and gives me hope for future generations. Zay ensured our drinks were filled, dirty plates were removed, and that we were satisfied. Kind bussers/runners also walked around picking up dirty plates. There's an extensive condiment bar to create your own dipping sauce(s). A banner hangs over the sauce/condiment bar that displays recipes of sauce recommendations. I'm like a kid in a candy store at a condiment bar & can get creative with various combinations! So don't fear, use the banner as a guide, keep it simple, or create your own. The sauce & salad bar appeared clean and ingredients fresh. Seasoning containers were labeled with sesame seeds, chicken broth granules, black pepper, etc.... There was hand sanitizer and gloves too! My friend and I chose HOT POT!! I've chosen both, hot pot & KBBQ, simultaneously at other establishments & it's not enjoyable for me. I prefer not to multitask but to focus on one cooking method. The hot pot option also has more veggies and fun dumplings to choose from! For those who enjoy heat, Szechuan Spicy Style cooking broth was so flavorful! Take it easy because I almost choked on a pepper in my gluttony!! The meats, dumplings, and veggies came super fast! AYCE HOT POT! This is their newer location and it seems much larger. Same good quality of food, but the portion sizes are smaller. This has its pros and cons. Pros is that the smaller portions eliminates waste, and there's more space on the table, but you can always order more. Cons you have to keep ordering multiple orders because the portions are small haha. I like that you can control your burner right in front of you. The ones in the original location you have to just check the dials by trial and error. They also serve my favorite ice cream by AQUA S! The moment I walked in I was pumped. The tables are set up great. Nice and roomy for all your needs. There was so many offerings to add into the soup, meat, seafood, veggies, noodles ect. Was also not pleased with the forced gratuity of 18%. We typically tip 20-25% but when told that we "have" to tip a certain amount I absolutely won't tip above that amount. Let me start with the bbq- we headed up to the sauce station, because I'm a saucy chick. I put a bunch of crap together and it came out wonderful- what was in it?! It's my secret bc i forgot. My girl and I went to this spot recently because we wanted to try a different KBBQ spot. We both got the all you can eat deal along with 2 alcoholic beverages. Service was normal. We ate and got the receipt. I found it interesting that the tax on the receipt read 12%. i didnt know we were making up our own tax rates and ON TOP OF THAT, they gave themselves an automatic 18% gratuity on a tab for 2 people.... that defeats the purpose of gratuity no? an $85 bill came out to be $123 That was honestly a slap in the face considering there was a 4th line that asked for a tip like wtf? the flavoring of the marinade was mid (5/10 at best) and I had to cook the food MYSELF (which i know thats what kbbq is) but come on that's robbery for some mid ass food. I've been to this location twice now (as well as the Chimney Hill, i prefer Chesapeake) - weekend evening and weekend lunch. Food is delicious (but you can't go wrong because you cook it yourself). Broth is tasty (original, Szechuan, pork rib, and herbal) and the buffet of condiments offers variety of options. There were many proteins and veggies to choose from. Unfortunately, I didn't like how they didn't warn you which items are out of stock. It took us a few times of ordering the same thing and saying - it never came - before we were told something was out (Fish cakes) or the server had to fetch themselves (Bulgogi). I like how they have fruits to round out as dessert at the bar. Service for refills is awful, better during lunch hours than dinner. We learned to start flagging someone down and start ordering the next round once we pulled food out of the pots or off the grill. This also includes drinks - we had to flag someone down. Because refills were on the slower side - they did change out the grill often due to burning food bits. Cost is on the higher side given that it took awhile to get refills. In addition, we have two kids, I didn't like that my 11 yo daughter is charged as a full grown adult sure charge the 11 a little more, but they don't eat as much as a college adult - maybe a teenager range would be better. read more

Hot Pot is a unique experience with flavors for everyone. I did the all you can eat Korean BBQ and hot pot. There was more options than I could have ever imagined and you can order whatever you want. I like that they brought out smaller portions of each meat, vegetable, and seafood you order so you can really create unique flavors and not waste any food. Everything was really fresh. With the hot pot, you chose from a variety of broths to start with, additionally, they have a bar of sauces and sides to elevate your dishes to your liking. If you not sure where to start they do have suggestions posted above the sauce bar as well. I've had Korean BBQ and Hot pot before but this experience was unique. I love that there are individual hot pots and burners for each person. What I'm used to having in the past is one giant hot pot for everyone. You will leave stuffed and satisfied. I went with a large group and they did a wonderful job serving us and accommodating our large party. The restaurant was clean and atmosphere was relaxing. I was a bit disappointed that we didn't have a whole large table, but we had 2 large tables next to the bar. Our servers were super friendly and patient with us. Been to Hotpot 757 twice. The first time, we had the BBQ, and the second time, the soup and BBQ. I actually prefer the soup and BBQ option.. the best of both worlds. The servings were small, but I like that because it prevents food waste. From the BBQ, I love the steak with their special sauce, the garlic shrimp, squid and steak bulgogi. Not a fan of their chicken curry.. basically chicken, marinated in yellow curry. Yuck. I couldn't eat it.. and I am a curry lover! I had the Tom yam soup base. Eh, it's ok. It needs more lemongrass and kaffir leaves. But there are more ingredients to choose from.. which I love. I also love that there are a variety of sauces to choose from. Hotpot 757 in Chesapeake is nicely located in the Greenbrier area. It's nicely decorated, and quite big inside. We came as a family and this was our first time here, and didn't really know what the whole Hotpot thing is. Like a few others mentioned the staff aren't very helpful with this, offering no advice. The hot pot is a soup base that boils your food. I had the Beef Butter base that was ok. I guess I thought I'd be able to eat it like a soup, but it didn't taste good enough for me to do that. The items I chose to put in it came out ok, but I wasn't impressed. They do though have Korean BBQ available, and that was good. So I recommend, if you do go here, to do the BBQ. It may be worth trying the hot pot for a few bucks more, for the experience though. Maybe you'll like it... They have a sauce bar, where you can make your own sauces, and they have recommended blends for you to follow. My wife made some good ones. Overall though, IMO I think it's too much work and a bit gimmicky, especially with kids, I almost felt like I was doing more work than I would've if I'd cooked at home. I wouldn't say don't go here, but it wouldn't be a place I'd recommend it as a place people have to go to. It wasn't a bad experience, but I don't think we'll be going back. read more
