We did a lot of research going into this project and had a pretty specific vision of what we wanted -- including battery storage, system sizing, and long-term efficiency. The team was receptive to that from day one and worked with us instead of pushing a one-size-fits-all solution. Communication was solid throughout the process. As with any solar project, there were a lot of moving parts (permitting, inspections, utility coordination), but they kept things moving and were responsive whenever we had questions. Installation itself was clean and professional. The conduit runs and equipment placement were well done, and everything looks neat and intentional -- which definitely matters for a system you'll be living with long-term. We also appreciated how they handled the more complex parts of the project, including battery integration and working with LADWP for interconnection and net metering. That process can get confusing, but they helped guide it through to completion. System has been up and running smoothly, and we're already seeing the benefits in terms of reduced grid usage and better control over our energy. Shoutout to Omar and the team for getting us across the finish line. This will be a lengthy review. I've held back on leaving this review for over a year because I…read morereally wanted to like this company and because they made a very good first impression. However, I'd like to make anyone aware who considers Treepublic as their solar installation company that their service leaves much to be desired. Since the installation of our solar system we've had several malfunctions that required intervention (fixes to the wiring and software related issues). Each time things played out along those lines: 1. I make a service call and/or leave a message with someone. Nobody gets back to me for days at a time. 2. I repeat service requests via email and voice mail 2-3 times before someone finally gets back to me, requesting detailed documentation. At this time usually about 2 weeks have passed since my initial reach-out. 3. The person that gets back to me assigns someone else to the service and that person usually isn't available for another week. When the assigned person arrives, that have no record of the issue and absolutely no information of the problem. All documentation that was already shared with Treepublic has gotten lost somewhere along the chain of command. 4. The assigns technician decides that they don't have the right expertise to solve the problem and reach back out to the office. 5. The loop repeats. I will also not a couple of positives and the reason i cannot assign one star: 1. The sales process was great and the sales rep was knowledgeable, making smart suggestions for the design of the system. 2. The installation process it's self was smooth, timely and professional Where Treepublic plainly sucks is on the communication front and when it comes to service after the initial installation. In our case the trouble started already prior to the installation: 1. After the final design was set and after a person had already measured our roof in person we signed the contract. After signing the contract we were suddenly told that the out roof could for 2 fewer panel than what was in the contract. I guess that can happen, but nobody ever owners up to the apparent mistake made when measuring the roof and writing the contract. 2. Once the correction had been made to the contract and installation was about to commence we were told the afternoon before the installation that the panels we had ordered were not available and that they would install somewhat less efficient panels instead. They offered a small adjustment to the contract instead. I mean ok, but shouldn't you offer some heads-up for such a change in specs and amend the contract first? My impression is that this is a company full of capable individuals but there always seem to me too many people involved shuffling information back and forth and things inevitably get lost in the shuffle. Too bad.

This company is flat out GREEDY and SICK…read more My mom reached out to ABI because of a flyer she received that advertised "Lowest Price". She is ELDERLY and speaks VERY LIMITED ENGLISH but they sent out two salespeople, Ari and Chris, who SPENT 4 HOURS AT HER HOME and in the end got her to sign a multi-page contract that she DID NOT UNDERSTAND nor could read, all while NEVER OFFERING a family member or translator to be present as they keep trying to claim after the fact, or giving her the option to consider the contract or review it with someone before signing. To this day, she has never been made aware of what the terms of the contract were and cannot read it. My mom was charged nearly $34,000 for roofing on a ~2600 sq ft. roof, quoted another $6000 for the gutter. We had two other roofing companies, including a C-39 roofing specialist look over the contract and the roofing in-person, and both agreed the high end of the job to be $26,000-28,000 INCLUDING the gutters. That's a $10,000 upcharge on the high end of another roofing company. She felt, at some point before the job begun, that she had been TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF, grossly overcharged, and was CHEATED into signing a contract for an unreasonably high price, something she was not comfortable with. She had an acquaintance reach out to the company on her behalf and try to cancel the contract and ABI refused to cancel it, stating it was beyond the 3 day cancellation period. What they didn't mention or honor was a cancellation clause of the contract that allows for cancellations after 3 days with a penalty/charge. Instead, they didn't giving her the option and refused to cancel the job, again taking advantage of my mom for not understanding the terms of the contracts or her right to cancel. They went ahead and sent contractors to do the roofing on her house DESPITE HER DISSATISFACTION with the cost and attempt to cancel and cited the fact that she did not "call the police to trespass them" as an indication that she was fine with the job. No elder immigrant lady with limited english would even consider that, and it's absurd to act like that was a reasonable indication of her wanting the roofing done. My mom contacted their salesperson multiple times through text and call before and during the job to try to ask for a fairer price, and was ignored on EVERY attempt. In the end, my mom felt PRESSURED, POWERLESS, and EXPLOITED. She deeply regrets ever entering into a contract with ABI, who did not give her the dignity of honoring what was clearly listed on the contract as a right for her to cancel and made her feel like she had to go through with the roofing and paying for it. I firsthand experienced the tone and emotionality of their salesperson when they came by to ask my mom to sign off on the completion of the job and found it extremely pushy, whiny, and unprofessional. Then, I got a call from Michael B trying to frame the situation as "buyer's remorse" which was deeply offensive and disrespectful to someone who is clearly expressing they feel cheated and taken advantage of and arguing against every question or clarification I asked for. To top it off, when I tried to end the call, they decided to THREATEN ME LEGALLY, stating my reviews I've posted go "beyond libel and defamation", according to their so called lawyer who they had spoken to already. This, in itself, says everything you need to know about how this company operates. They'll use scare tactics to try to get you to take down a review, rather than putting in any effort to make things right. Rotten company. Rotten ethics. TOTALLY UNCONSCIONABLE. It's disgusting to me that a company could operate this way and act so entitled to taking advantage of an old person all while trying to convince everyone they didn't do anything wrong. It seems like all they care about on here is being right, using dismissive language to paint every bad review to be "misleading", "false", "inaccurate" and deny any possibility of wrongdoing to avoid accountability, all probably so they can keep their dirty money. Michael B: One quick search "In California, elders are defined as persons 60 years and older. Under California law, elder abuse can be both criminal and civil." There's no use focusing on semantics to be right and spending so much time reframing the situation to benefit yourself. It's never your fault, you never do anything wrong, someone else is always wrong. When will you stop caring about protecting your image and actually doing right by the people that give you your paycheck? What took me away and gravitated towards GIM, was the brutal honesty and no sales pressure. Other companies were clearly out for the sale and quick sign of a contract. But GIM never had an issue answering questions and took the time to ensure I fully understood what was going to happen and they executed. They are truly professional and take pride with their work. Panels, conduit and all looks amazing and was exactly what I ordered. If you have competing bids, show them to GIM and they will explain the differences and show you the tactics the 'others' may be using. I would recommend 100%.

Our inspection/permit were completed in just a couple of days after our final panel work was done. It's easier to reach Nick by cell than by email, but when I reached out via text or call he always knew what was going on with the project and was able to give us prompt answers to any questions. Chase installed our electric panel (and probably the panels too but I can't remember that far back!) He walked us through the whole system and left the area clean after completion. I like that we can monitor our panels in realtime and we have a great warranty on our panels. I'd recommend their services!
