Your quintessential small travel store. For a small size they have tons of merch. I needed a RFID blocking wallet for our trip to Turkey and Italy and its hard to get a feel for the sizes. I wanted to see how they felt in my pants as it were. They had the one I needed and the lady working the store was super helpful and offered up some practical suggestions. As I noted above the store is loaded but despite its small size it does not feel cluttered. Customer service is on point. Prices are in line with everybody else. As noted in a few reviews this store is a bit hidden away at the mall but if you need travel stuff its truly a gem. read more

Have luckily come across this store and ordered a good quality converter that I've been looking for for a long time. Please support small businesses like this. Sites like Amazon, flooded with cheap plastic fakes, are not really cheaper in the long run if you have to replace things more often and magnify the plastic pollution problem. read more

This company does not answer their phone or their e-mails. I am still waiting on tracking information and it has been 4 business days and no communication! Great place for all things travel....travel accessories from clothes, to books, to maps, to hats, bags, to accessories. Love the huge selection in such a tiny space. Across from Travelex currency exchange. Didn't have the removeable padded strap cover that I have been looking for but I think what I am looking for is going to be hard to find. I am going to Belize, to go mayan ruin trekking, jungle zip lining, cave tubing and snorkeling with the manatees and I could have done my travel shopping here alone instead of running around near and far over the past month. read more

Travel stores are few and far between. Most of the time, you have to go to a luggage store and hope that they will have what you are looking for. It's pretty hit and miss. BTW, by "travel store" I mean a place you can find security wallets, money belts, secure bags, travel locks, universal plugs and converters....you know the "it would be nice if we had" this and that kinda stuff. Although, why and in what circumstance one would need "disposable underwear" I have no idea.....on second thought, I don't want to know (where were these during my college days). So Going in Style is not so much a luggage store as it is a Brookstone for travelers. It fills a niche, so it's alright. The only real issue is that some of the items are fairly expensive. Sure, it would be nice to have a secure day pouch to hold you money, ID, and a few small items (camera for example), one that is tamper resistant, cut and slash resistant, and which you can hook securely on a chair....but for $60-$70? Some people would say yes, some no. How much you like this store is budget dependent. So with that said, I would actually give this place 3.5 stars if I could. But I can't. May be if this economy gets any better, I'll bump it up a star. read more

Even for a completely unworn gift that has been sitting in a closet for 6 months until we could make a special trip here to exchange it for the correct size. Perhaps their storefront is better, but i highly recommend NOT ordering from them online. I waited 3 weeks for an item, only to receive the wrong one. After following a returns process that was more difficult than it needed to be, I have still not received a credit - and it has been 2 weeks since they received the return. read more

This place is kinda like going to Costco, but for travel needs. You end up buying way more stuff than you will actually end up using or needing because they have so much stuff here for travel!!! Great little store that has everything travel you could possibly need. They have great little walking maps of major cities as well as some larger ones too. I suspect the prices are a bit higher because a.) it IS a specialty shop, and b.) it IS in Stanford shopping mall. Right across the breezeway is a currency exchange place so it makes it very convenient if you are traveling abroad. read more

I'm so glad I found this store because I felt so hounded at Edwards Luggage. Going in Style is a tiny store but it is packed with lots of travel accessories from luggage to clothing and even travel-sized toiletries. I was looking for a Baggallini City Bagg and when I called, the woman who answered the phone was very helpful and placed my order on hold at the Palo Alto location. When I arrived, although my bag was ready for me I spent almost 30 minutes browsing for other "stuff" I thought I might need. I wound up buying a folding hair dryer and a roll-up jewelry/toiletry organizer. The woman who was behind the counter seemed very hands-off, which I appreciated because I like to browse around without feeling like the salespeople are ready to pounce on me to make a sale. When I did have a question, she was helpful and informative. I recommended this store to my friends and I will come back again whether I have an upcoming trip or not - they have some really great products like laptop bags. read more

It's a fairly small store yet I still "get lost" in it. They have ENDLESS items for the frequent traveler that make our lives easier. Typically it is a strong, VERY light, durable version of something, like a toiletry kit or umbrella. I got a nylon knapsack that folds up into a little ball half the size of your fist, yet is somehow very strong and stylish when opened up. I keep it in my travel bag and use it at my destination. Every frequent traveler should spend some time in this store or one like it. read more

I first searched their website for the item I needed: easy to browse and locate what I'm looking for. Then I called ahead, to make sure they had it in stock. I somehow called the main warehouse line, but since they couldn't transfer me, they were nice enough to call the store, check on what I wanted, and call me back to let me know. Amazing customer service there! I finally made it to the store, was helped by the sales woman to find what I needed. She also directed me to other items as I asked, and showed me some passport holders from behind the case. All and all, I'm very satisfied with the customer service. I expected it to be over priced since it's in the Stanford mall, but the locks were cheaper than at Walgreens, and the money belt was cheaper than at REI. read more

* I ordered from Going in Style "online" - I had a trip planned to Ireland and ordered adapters and converters. I ordered 3 weeks ahead of time and never received the product. I called and left a message to please cancel the order because I was afraid I wasn't going to receive it in time. I have never once been able to get a live person on the phone for the online store. I ordered the product from a different company but Going In Style sent the product anyway, the exact same day I asked to cancel. I shipped it back using their online return form and did this with a signature confirmation. They signed for the product return on October 6th. To date, I have gotten no response from my emails to them as to where my refund is. I have gone to the Better Business Bureau and the deadline was today for them to respond. NOTHING.....not even to the Better Business Bureau. DO NOT order from this company ONLINE. I am dumbfounded that I am having to deal with this to get my money back. There is no excuse whatsoever for such poor customer service and to withhold my refund. DO NOT ORDER ONLINE! read more
