After an extensive search, I came across Baraka Gems. Their reviews gave me confidence, so I decided to give them a try, and I'm so glad I did. From the moment I walked in, Jamie, the manager/owner, made the experience easy and stress-free. During the initial assessment, he took the time to carefully examine my ring, listened to what I wanted, and never once made me feel pressured. Instead of pushing his own opinions, he presented multiple repair options, clearly explained the pros, cons, and associated costs, and let me decide what was best for me. They were able to repair my ring beautifully, and the cost was incredibly reasonable. I was especially impressed by their commitment to customer service and the quality of their craftsmanship. Even though my repair was likely a relatively small job compared to some of their other work, they treated it with the same care and attention as if it were a major project. It's rare to find a business that is so honest, transparent, and genuinely focused on doing what's best for the customer. I can't recommend Baraka Gems highly enough, and they'll be my first stop for any future jewelry repairs or purchases.

He made the experience pleasant, did not pressure me at all, and gave me good value for the few items I decided to sell. Also, Baraka Gems uses a nifty little machine to determine gold content, not a scratch test, so my pieces weren't damaged. I had previously visited another company, which did use scratch tests, without warning me in advance. Upsetting! I highly recommend Baraka Gems, and am very glad I found them!

They're personable, friendly and welcoming. Brenden will take the time to tell you about the coins and quote very reasonable prices. The Coin Market collection is consistently better than other nearby local coin shops. Sarah is awesome and very knowledgeable on coins and proof sets. We love coming here and conversing + seeing the amazing BamBam (a very friendly bulldog who greets you shortly after your arrival). Been to a lot of coin shops and this one is by far my #1. Location is near a couple of nice restaurants too. Keep it up!

He keeps offering to buy mine, after he bought from our Texas dealer, paid a fee to use his credit card for advance payment and was billed for shipping and insurance. His purchase cost him over $3,000.00 more than the exact same purchase I made locally, and he waited weeks for his delivery. He can afford it, but he never bought from his dealer again. I do feel their pain with the new 10% sales tax in WA, so I will try to sell some of my holdings back to them @ reasonable profit margins. They are good people to deal with, at least in my experience. They have earned my support.

It is a precious…read morefamily heirloom and based on advertising I have seen for Fircrest Jewelers stating that it is a locally owned business that one could trust with their family heirlooms, I felt comfortable. The shank broke on 5/11/2026, and I took it back on 5/12/2026. The lady who waited on me made a loud production about their one-year warranty and how the damage to my ring was outside of the year. It was 3 weeks outside of the warranty. It was unprofessional behavior and there were other people in the business who could hear her admonish me. She said she would speak to the owner and get back to me. I received a text message on 5/13/2026, stating that I could pay $40 for the repair. I picked up my ring and took it to another jewelry store who looked the ring over to give me an estimate. Attached is the picture I took when they explained that the work that had been done was faulty. There are bubbles in the shank and you can see the lines where the metal was added to upsize the ring. So much for over 30 years' experience in the business. I would expect this type of customer experience with a corporate owned business where profit is the goal over everything else, not from a "locally owned business that advertises that you can trust your precious family heirlooms with them." Update/Response: The ring was not bent nor had it been sized before. I hardly wear this ring, and I never wear it for work, around the house or in the garden. I received this from a grandparent, and it was a size 4 or 5. Fircrest is the only jeweler that I have had size this ring, and that was in April of last year. It broke at the seam of the metal that was used to upsize the ring to a size 8.5. The jeweler that looked over the ring was not impressed with the work and there was no discussion about the ring being bent or sized multiple times.

Prices seemed reasonable (and I had been to several jewelers that day on a shopping trip with a friend so I had concurrent pricing). Will definitely be checking back for new pieces. After all of those experiences, the only shop I consistently return to and wholeheartedly recommend is the Seattle Coin Shop. What sets them apart is their honesty and professionalism. Having worked in retail for years, including in a shop that purchased jewelry and coins, I have a decent sense of how these transactions should work. At many places, you can feel rushed, undervalued, or unsure if you're getting a fair assessment. At Seattle Coin Shop, it's the complete opposite. Every time I've brought something in--whether it was a single coin, or mixed scrap items--they've taken the time to explain what I have, how they assess its value, and what factors influence their offer. There's never any pressure, and they're patient with questions. Their evaluations have always felt transparent and straightforward, which is rare in this type of industry. Most importantly, it's the only shop where I've consistently walked away feeling confident that I was treated honestly and fairly--that peace of mind matters, especially when dealing with items that have monetary or sentimental value. Seattle Coin Shop is the only place I trust, and the only one I recommend to anyone looking to buy, sell, or simply learn more about their coins or precious metals.
