Well, I cannot speak for the sandwiches, which I believe is what they do best from the looks of them and other reviews, but we dropped by for desert. The carrot cake was good, but my peach pie with almonds was dry, not sweet at all, and frankly just weird for a piece of pie. The lack of sweetness was not my concern, as I enjoy tasting the fruit instead, but there was no juice to the point the fruit & entire pie was dried up. As well, I asked that it be warmed up and it came to the table half warm, half cold. I think it spent maybe 5 seconds in a microwave (?). If I had been more interested in the pie, I would have asked them to warm up again, but truly I just did not enjoy it enough to care. If back in Victor, maybe we will give this place another try.... but not sure. read more

There are a lot of places in Cripple Creek/Victor you can go to get a burger. But sometimes you want something a little fresher, a little more artisanal, and for that I highly recommend the Gold Camp Bakery. I had a half loaf sandwich. I am a big guy. I like sandwiches. I got outside of this sandwich but it was a herculean effort. This monster was packed with fresh meats and veggies and satisfied me to the last bite. My lunch date had a chicken pot pie and she really liked it. We were both so impressed with the food and the ambiance that we took a selection of baked goods and pasties to go for our dinner/dessert later. Highly recommended! read more

My Sister and I spent two nights in Cripple Creek in July and drove to Victor specifically to visit this bakery. We ordered a delicious layered chocolate cake with fantastic cream center and outside. Excellent. On the other hand, I was told the white bread they had was sour dough and bought a loaf because my husband loves sour dough. It WAS no way sour at all. My sister ordered oatmeal raisin cookies for her husband, his favorite, and was very disappointed. VERY dry, and not at all flavorful. That part was disappointing. read more

Holy smokes! Yelp didn't let me down when looking for a place to eat on a recent "leafing" trip. Victor is a po'dunk but very cool mining town, with very few food options. My wife and I got the "half" sandwich combo and a slice of pie for all of like $15. The sandwich was delicious and MASSIVE. It was made on fresh bread and was large enough for us to share. The pie was excellent as well. If you're looking to grab a picnic lunch, or get off your feet for a few definitely drop into Gold Camp Bakery! We want to give this place and everyone who works there 1 million stars! We were there for the Gem and Mineral show this weekend and I'm so happy we found this place. I have food sensitivities and Goddess bless these people because they had a few things I could eat, which were the granola bar, and a loaf of gluten-free bread. Both were amazing. They were so accommodating about getting me something I could eat, I really appreciated it. Also, my partner lost his mind over their baked goods and ended up buying 1 piece of every pie/cake they had to go, which again they accommodated so very kindly. Some of that went to my mom for watching our dog while we were gone and nobody could get over the size of the pieces and how wonderful they all were. My husband got the chocolate peanut butter pie, which is divine. I ordered the strawberry shortcake. The lady working the counter told me that it didn't look very good, so was there something else I'd like. A voice from the back said they had a rhubarb crumb cake. I got that and if they have it, get it. It was incredibly good. The prices were incredible. Two desserts and two sprites was under $9. It would have cost that per dessert at home. read more

The food here was great!! We were in the area for a few days so we made sure to stop on a second time before we left town. First stop consisted of a big slice of apple pie and a coffee. The pie was delicious and the coffee was good, but not quite like the major coffee chains. Our second stop was for a cinnamon roll and a hot fresh pretzel. We had to wait a few minutes for them to bake the pretzel but it was amazing. If we make it back this way we will definitely stop in again! read more

Victor, Colorado is a former gold mining town that has been repurposed as a tourist attraction. Not that there is any glitz, waterslides or other such, but it is a quaint little town without modern trappings like McDonald's or Pizza Hut. Thus, Gold Camp Bakery is a little hole in the wall in the downtown district that bakes everything from scratch on site. It seems to be a popular place, as the line was nearly out the door when we arrived. How to order: Pick up a menu and choose what you want. They have chicken pot pie, pasties (kind of like pierogies), muffins, cinnamon rolls, cakes of various sorts, etc. We decided on the Half Loaf Sandwich Meal Deal, which includes a small bag of chips and one soda for $10.00, and added another soda. You get an order form and a dry-erase marker and check off your bread - white, wheat, sourdough, onion-herb or a Kaiser roll. Then the meat (if you want): ham, turkey, roast beef or salami, a choice of five different cheeses, then whatever veggies and condiments you prefer. If it's a to-go order, write that on there with your name. Then wait your turn. My wife and I split a roast beef sandwich with Swiss cheese, veggies, etc. on the onion-herb bread and were plenty filled up. Remember, this is half a loaf of bread! We took it to a nearby park to enjoy the cool weather and beautiful scenery. And nothing could be better than that! read more

Okay the people that work here are so nice and friendly. It has a nice small town feel to it. 1 dollar coffee at 26 ounces was a nice surprise as well. We highly recommend the half loaf make your own sandwich option. They make it with their own bread and whatever you circle on the sandwich request form. $9.00 for a sandwich that is 2 meals and huge! They know how to do things the right way here and they do it the way it should be done, that is with genuine care and friendliness. While in Victor, my mom and I came here for dinner after we saw a sign on the corner. Immediately when we walked in, we could smell fresh baked goods. We were greeted by the proprietor and she explained how to order a sandwich. Even though we were told the size of the sandwich, we each ordered a half loaf sandwich (I think our eyes were bigger than our stomachs). They were great! The bread was soft and fresh, and the sandwich was packed full of what I had ordered, they did not skimp. We actually couldn't finish our sandwiches and asked them to wrap up the leftovers for lunch tomorrow. We also decided to split a slice of peach almond pie (the desserts in the case look wonderful!).
