Visiting Colorado Springs and I was excited to try La Concha Bakery but I left disappointed. I ordered a concha, and while it was definitely large as you can see, the size didn't make up for the quality. A good concha should be soft, slightly fluffy and have that fresh-baked aroma. This was oversized, dry and it felt like I got more bread than flavor. For someone who grew up with Mexican pan dulce, there's that hard-to-describe "authentic" quality--it's not just sweetness, it's the texture, the crumb and the balance between the bread and the topping. I know everyone has different tastes, but for me, the concha ended up being more about quantity than quality The bakery itself was nice, the staff was really friendly but unfortunately the pastry just didn't live up to it. read more

This has got to be the best bakery in the Springs, you'll be hard pressed to convince me otherwise. My son mentioned it to me on my last visit and we didn't get around to dropping in. This past weekend he brought me here twice! It smells incredible the second you step through the door. You're immediately transported into bakery heaven. You will not believe your eyes at the delights incased before you. I wanted one of everything! This being 10+ lbs overweight is not a cute look on me and that meant nothing as I began to order, two different concha's, and a spinach and feta croissant. Soooo scrumptious! The next day I ordered a ham and cheese croissant and a strawberry filled donut. I don't love strawberry I'm a raspberry jam girl but I went for it and omg! Sensational. My son, sister and mom all ordered various different items. I do not think you can go wrong here, every pastry looks so good! There's very little in life that I adore more than a perfect pâtissière and this is it. I pray this business boasts continued success because they appear to really be doing it right. The crowd was so diverse, we sat indoors one day and outdoors the next. It was my birthday one of the days and quite frankly sitting outside in the sun with my son and yummy pastries in hand was probably one of the single best moments of the entire day. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! I only wish I'd known they did cakes, I totes would have ordered my birthday cake from here. Very solid 5 STARS! Can't wait to get back. Perfect walk from the Cheyenne Mountain Resort if you are staying there looking for a nearby cafe. They have a huge variety of pastries, including savory and sweet. I got the spinach feta croissant, which was absolutely huge and delicious and warm. I also got the chocolate la concha which was equally as delicious but be prepared to be wearing it if you're not careful as it can be messy! I also got a large iced latte with almond and hazelnut. The coffee is very strong and will keep me awake today for sure. The service was very friendly and quick. There's plenty of places to sit inside in a couple outside if you wanted. Experience was amazing! My fiancé and I went here for the first time today and loved the bakery! We ended up getting the Dulce de Leche Tutti and an iced vanilla chai! Both of them were amazing and lived up to every expectation. The staff were amazing and they were all smiles when serving us! We were able to talk to the owner a bit as well. He was incredibly friendly and we could tell that he had a big heart for their customers and their business. My only complaint about La Concha is that I live on the Northeast side of town and I can't go there more. This is mine and my husbands favorite bakery. I'm resentfully gluten free and they have an almond coffee cake that makes me okay with it. Their coffee is delicious and it smells like heaven right when you walk in. Wow, what a place. The bakery items all look amazing and shared the largest lemon meringue croissant ever made at it was sooo good. Came here too late on the weekend and most of the stuff was sold out - Definitely a good sign for a bakery. The pastries I did see looked amazing and delicious. There's not a big sitting area there and the table are pretty close together. Got an apple turnover, and a bread pudding both were delicious. The matcha was okay. We love this place. One of our favorite bakeries. The only place I know in the Springs that has Affagato (I probably spelt that wrong). Whenever I visit, I always get a pastry, and ice cream with espresso for breakfast. We will keep coming back! My kids absolutely love this place as well. I love bakeries, and if I see one while traveling I will make a point to stop and try it out. This place has a lot of potential. It was clean and bright and you can watch them make bread behind the counter. But something felt a bit off on my visit. When I arrived, there were easily 10 people waiting for thier espresso drinks. I ordered an Americano and an oreja (palmier) pastry. While I waited my 15 minutes to get my drink, I overheard the pastry chef scolding the other pastry chefs for not having enough concha's out. Probably wouldn't have noticed if I didn't speak Spanish. When I finally got my coffee, I broke into my pastry. It tasted a day old. It was not flaky and really, really chewy. I'll probably give it another chance, but won't go out of my way to visit. read more

Absolutely the best bakery in Colorado Springs, if not the best bakery I've been to since moving to Colorado (I'm visiting from Boulder). First of all, I'm a ham and cheese croissant connoisseur, and I'll go as far to say this is one of the best ones I've ever had. We also got chicken BLT - it may be one of the tastiest sandwiches ever. Everything is SO fresh and incredible, the pastry chefs are literally behind the counter making bread and everything gorgeous and delicious. For sweet treats we got a Master Croissant and, of course, a concha. Both so perfectly sweet and delicious, as well as pretty. I also grabbed a sourdough bread loaf, and I think you already know what I'd say about it. In addition to all this, the staff is so friendly and lovely. It was busy but still quick, there was plenty of seating. They had gorgeous flowers out front too! We had a chat with Sebastian, and he was so nice and helpful. My parents frequent this bakery and insisted they take me here when I came to town and it's clear why! Sebastian remembered my mom and made sure to come say hi. I'd argue this is the best coffee/ breakfast shop in Colorado Springs. The food is great, and everything tastes fresh. Fair pricing, especially for the potions. Warning Tiramisu 1/10 - but cheesecake 10/10. I'm a tiramisu addict, I order this dessert everywhere but this was completely drenched in rum. I took 2 bites and had to throw it away. I wish they would've put a warning label. Typically tiramisu is made with coffee (sometimes an added splash of alcohol) not a whole pint of rum and absolutely no coffee. There was one thing I strongly disliked but I can't remember what it was anymore--I feel like it was the pistachio croissant. Pretty expensive but what isn't nowadays? Outdoor tables were very small and wobbly, making it difficult not to spill your coffee. Service was good. Overall it wasn't my favorite cafe but I can't wait to give it another shot!
